Where is Justin Gabriel?

CM Steel

A REAL American
Justin Gabriel is a young star in the WWE who's star was shinning bright. Being one of the second runner-up on the first season of WWE NXT while NXT ran on the SyFy network for that while. And after that Gabriel made his RAW debut with the original Nexus that came out of NXT. With the following year Justin Gabriel with a few others from the Nexus made up the Corre with Gabriel winning the WWE tag team title's with Heath Slater once again like they did while within the Nexus faction.

But now that Justin Gabriel is now on his own as a single's star after his latest tag team partner Tyson Kidd got injured for like six months. Justin Gabriel has been featured on WWE show's like WWE Superstar's and the defunct WWE Saturday Morning Slam. The last time that anybody really seen Gabriel is when he was on an episode of the reality show Total Diva's, in where he had a short lived fling with JoJo from season one of the show. It was weird to see a 32 year-old Justin Gabriel with a 19 year-old girl on the show making out in the young ladies room alone.

But if the WWE were to re-package Gabriel or even give him a single's push. What could we see out of Gabriel this year? That 360 splash of his is off the meter! It rival's Evan Bourne's shooting star press from the top rope.

I've always been a huge fan of Gabriel. From the start the way he can flow in the ring and his ability to perform high risk has been insane. I still remember him performing the 450 in a tiny space during the MiTB match. Then when I heard WWE was entertaining the idea of a potential Cruiserweight/Light-Heavyweight show I was VERY excited thinking of the potential Kofi vs. Justin vs. Bourne vs. Rey. However with the obsession of massive guys (Daniel Bryan being the exception) being in the spotlight I couldn't see him being anything more than a glorified jobber to heels. He doesn't have that credibility to him like a Jericho, or a Kane to where they can be in any match and whoever they are working with will come out looking like a million dollars. Sadly I give it a bit before he's cut and winds up in TNA which might not be a bad move for him in terms of the competition.

As for someone who enjoys their flippy flip spot monkeys, Justin Gabriel is unfortunately cut from the same cloth with Shelton Benjamin. Talented wrestler, but absolutely zero personality and zero reason for anyone to pay him any attention.

Oh, and it is a 450 splash, not a 360.

This is true.

However! That doesn't mean he can't be used in some capacity on TV. The things he can do in the ring will get a pop from the crowd and even if he's the jobbiest jobber to ever job, he'll help a heel upstart get some heat.

I don't know where he is but I don't mind Gabriel he hasn't done much in the last couple years besides get two ppv US title shots. Elimination Chamber 2012 against Jack Swagger and then Survivor Series 2012 against Antonio Cesaro. Unlucky for him other than his lack of charisma he is probably just that little bit too short for his in ring ability. What I mean by that is not he is too short to be a high flyer but he isn't at the point where he is that good in the ring that his ability counters any of his down sides.

More importantly though where is the true rising star of the WWE JTG? JTG has wowed crowds for many a year with his in ring ability I mean how long ago has there been a bad JTG match on Raw or Smackdown answer not a single one for a long time. What about his classic strap match against Shad at Extreme Rules 2010 (the second best strap match in Extreme Rules PPV history or 3rd if you count the CM Punk Umaga Samoan Strap match from 2009) or the episode of Smackdown 2 weeks prior when Shad was belting JTG with the strap. The match was announced on the Wednesday and the taping was on the Tuesday and the crowd was so stunned and angry with this vicious attack on JTG they were in silence. What about when he and Shad were a memorable tag team and they feuds with the great tag teams of all time like Jerishow. That JTG Jericho match on Smackdown in August 2009 sure was a classic. Or even the time he and Shad played an ever important role in the JBL-Cena singles feud. Clearly we are missing an all time great.

How can you tell? We never had a real chance to prove his worth, apart from a tag title run in a time when the titles meant as much as the US title does now...

Look at Daniel Bryan for instance... he had no reaction prior to becoming US campion and look where he is now... Gabriel hasn't had a solid chance where they would give him tha ball and tell him to run with it.

It doesn't seem like wwe cares much for the cruiserweight/high flyers much, in favor if the big technical wrestlers. And that's a shame, really. Guys like Evan Bourne, Kofi Kingston, Justin Gabriel, aren't really going to get much of a shot from now on. It really sucks, because these guys can all deliver 5 star matches.
Justin Gabriel is a great wrestler, but as the OP said I don't know how much longer he's gonna be around. Who knows, by the end of this year we might be welcoming Gabriel Justinian to the Impact Zone...

Forget a singles push, he needs in a tag team. Put him and Bourne together as a tag team, recreate something like the Rockers and there you go. Or put him with Kofi another guy up to nothing in WWE.

Justin Gabriel unfortunately is cut from the same cloth as all the other spot monkeys. Gabriel, has zero charisma and no mic skills. Im not sure if its because of his accent but he really isnt bad in the ring. Gabriel,im not sure where he is at but,a roster spot in New Japan,ROH,TNA may not be that bad of an option.

He is more talented than Evan Bourne and if one of the two had to go,it should be Bourne IMO. To my knowledge,Justin hasn't done anything wrong there is just no room for him at the moment

Why not do a Rockers-like thing with Gabriel and Kidd, someone he is used to working with? I think they could have some great tag matches!

Being in a tag-team is definitely the best option for him. He hasn't been relevant since Nexus but at least he is getting decent pay.

He has a cool finisher. He was in the battle royal at Mania which is something. Stick Gabriel in a tag-team to help make up the numbers and he can do his awesome finisher a few times a month. With the right partner, he could actually achieve success but he has no chance as a singles superstar.
