What's next for Alberto Del Rio?

Ok well now it seems pretty obvious that Ziggler will be facing big e at summerslam following the attack on raw after zigglers title match. I was waiting for someone to make a thread about this but I guess i lost my patience. After coming out of an excellent feud with Ziggler with a unique unexpecting rare doubleturn at payback(though IMO I liked it better with Del Rio the Babyface) whats next now for Alberto? Who is his next opponent? IMO I think Ziggler should still be the WHC but its kinda disappointing on how most of his title reign was spent home during a concussion. If you think about it Del Rio has already feuded with most of them or the rest are occupied with other storylines. Here are some choices.

Randy Orton: Involved in the WWE Championship title picture with the MITB Briefcase.

Daniel Bryan: Feuding with John Cena

Christian: WWE does not unfortunately take Christian any serious no more so I doubt it

Big Show: Rumoured to return as a heel(as scheduled to face Randy Orton in the coming weeks on live events)

Sheamus: We have already seen ADR vs Sheamus at summerslam I do not wanna see that again plus Sheamus is hurt

Rey Mysterio: Was rumoured to return before Summerslam but instead now returning sometime in October so that wont be happening.

Chris Jericho: Just left WWE for fozzy tours

Mark Henry: Just got put into a feud with Shield

Ryback: currently a heel but dont know about that

See the only 2 available choices that come into mind are The Miz and RVD. It was said that a few months back that WWE was high on the outcomes of Miz's face turn and still is said to have big feuds in the future. I for one would enjoy to see Miz back into the World Title Picture and a feud with Alberto Del Rio would be pretty good too see. And RVD, but I highly doubt since he is a part timer, but yet it would be nice to see RVD vs ADR at SS for the WHC. Anyways, what do you guys think WWE should do with ADR and who do you guys think he should face at the biggest event of the summer?

If it's not gonna be Ziggler, it's gonna have to be RVD or Christian really. Miz just lost to Axel at the last PPV. Having him as number 1 contender wouldn't make sense.

However, I think we will get one final Ziggler-Del Rio match, but with the stipulation of a steel cage to try and prevent outside interference from AJ/Big E

Imo Orton should feud with Del Rio. He has the briefcase, but he needs to be doing something

If Orton isn't on a PPV Card, then he HAS to cash in the briefcase, and then the cash in won't be a surprise because then it's just "the obligatory Randy Orton appearance".

Orton should win the World Heavyweight Title while he still has the briefcase. Then he can cash in and unify the belts.

^Orton has the briefcase for the WWE title, him feuding with ADR doesn't make much sense

he could win the World HW Title and try to unify, but I see that as kinda far fetched

tent to agree with TS, between the injury and short title reign it's such a disappointment for Ziggler, people are so quick to put down Dolph and say he's not ready for the title and what not

why not give the guy a chance?

I highly doubt that actually cuz WWE really needs two world title belts. And I agree with rerun, it wouldnt make much sense. Besides there underated forgetten feud last october leuding to hell in a cell(I enjoyed that feud imo) And it was also said that Randy Orton had been injured on the smackdown tapings(on WWE.com right now so im not spoiling anything) it was rumoured for Randy Orton to stay outta tv for a while until summerslam and make a surprising cash in return on Daniel Bryan. That would be nice to see imo

I can't figure out what the deal is between WWE management and Dolph. When they gave him the championship, I thought they had finally achieved their goal of making him one of the cornerstones for the future. As much as I disagreed with it, I reasoned he was on top to stay (yes, he'd win and lose the title along the way, but he would be in the title picture for the next decade). Presently, it's a big uncertainty; I figured he would have regained the belt by now....and that the only reason Del Rio was holding it was to give it quickly back to Dolph.

But, okay, ADR's still got it. Personally, I think he's worthy, but a lack of people to fight might really cost him in terms of rep. The company might still put Randy Orton in there with ADR and be assured of high quality matches, yet the MITB deal with Randy might get in the way of a real feud. It depends on how much Randy's persona in the next months is going to revolve around the briefcase.

Christian is out there, but I really am turned off by him feuding with ADR for the title. Again, the matches would be of fine quality, but how much interest does Christian generate at this point of his career? I like him on the mid-card, but not as champion.

RVD? Well, maybe.....but the limits of his availability could come into play. How much is he going to be around? Is it enough the build real storylines? Is his contract structured so that he can engage in feuds that keep him in our minds......followed by periods in which he's totally on the sidelines? (see: Lesnar, Brock)

If Van Dam has enough appearances built into his WWE deal, I'd like to see him in a sustained program with Alberto Del Rio.

Still, I wish there was more of a choice of guys to work with him.

There are no credible faces to feud with Del Rio on the "Smackdown roster"
lol @ the WWE

How bout Cody Rhodes? While they are working the 3-man story lines the race between Rhodes/Sandow to gain gold could fit right in. Two triple threat matches at Night of Champs? Yes Please.

How about having Del Rio face Fandango, hey stranger things have happened and not only that but both men are heels though but at the same time Fandango gets pops whenever he comes out because people sing along with his theme song so why not give Fandango a World Heavyweight Championship match at SummerSlam? Fandango looks like he could turn face in the future but for right now if he faces Del Rio, it gives him something to do at SummerSlam

It is a curious one but I hope someone takes the belt of him. Problem is there isn't an obvious choice. As suggested, Cena, Bryan, Punk are pre-occupied; Ziggler is likely to face Big E and The Miz is in relative obscurity (and hosting SummerSlam).

It is unlikely that they will give Orton a world title feud. ALTHOUGH, the idea of Orton winning the WHC of Del Rio and facing Cena at WM30 for both belts is very interesting. Very unlikely but very interesting...

RVD has just returned and there would be no chance of him winning the belt. They would put on a great match but it would be a waste. Christian is another that would have little chance of taking the belt of Del Rio. but you know ONE MORE MATCH

I think they will go for either Sheamus or The Big Show. Both have feuded with Del Rio and need a program - a title match with Del Rio could be a viable option. I'm not a fan of either but it is something the WWE would go for.

My preference would be a multi-man match. Maybe a fatal-four way between Del Rio, Barrett/Ryback, RVD/Christian and Sheamus. I don't want just a random pairing for Del Rio - give me something entertaining and unpredictable. Or the Big Show. :banghead:
