What's left in TNA for Abyss?

In my mind, only one thing. I'll leave that to the end of this post. Ponder what it could be.

Recently, Abyss has been featured in the frankly appalling team of, well, Matt Morgan and Abyss. This team has had some fittingly frankly appalling storylines, as well as unintentional moments of comedy gold - "Aww, look at his smart shirt and little waddle; he thinks he's people!"

Matt Morgan is, of course, shite. Apparently, the team has split, which will result in some appalling matches. My interest could not be lower. I'll be honest, Abyss is not an exceptional big man. He's a good big man, but not exceptional. He doesn't break the mould (I mean, he's a Mankind/Kane rip-off to begin with) in any way. Hernandez, Samoa Joe, they're exceptional big men.

So really, what's left in TNA for Abyss? Who can he feud with? A Booker T/Abyss feud would be functional, but it wouldn't be incredibly interest. A Sting feud would be old. Jarrett ain't gonna wrestle him, even if it would work, which I don't think it would. Angle's got all he's gonna get out of him. Styles - it's been done. Don't see where he's gonna go. I think he deserves more than being midcard fodder, but I don't see any other way. Well, except one.

A Samoa Joe feud.

I want to see tna use abyss as more of a contender. Quit using him in this pussy mental ward shit. And have him snap like he did this week more often. Fuck making him tame, have him go apeshit. Thats good tv for me, I like abyss I've used him as one of my e fed charicters for a long time. He's not horrible, he has a prety good finisher that can come out of noware. He's a damn good worker, I don't know many other people in tna that will literaly let guys tear both of his arms open like the did a couple years ago.

He's a good hardcore spot worker, he puts it all on the line. I want to see him with a belt around his waist and tna working with him to have longer and more pure wrestiling matches. Or just have him go back to his old ways and start fudeing with people and end up haveing good spot matches. The sabu barbed wire massicre match was a damn good hardcore match. It kind of put abyss on the map with hardcore fans. He either needs a belt and to work on pure wrestling or go back to being a bad ass monster, because this pussy ass shit aint working for me or probibaly any of his fans.

Abyss is the TNA Kane. He has a lot of untapped potential and is a former world champion in a reign that no one really remembers because it was a pure transitional reign. He could do more in a straight wrestling match because he plays a good brawler and not just a hardcore spot monkey. His character is someone that doesn't need a promo or anything like that to explain himself. He occasionally speaks and that's good enough. These random feuds are doing nothing for him, but what would do something for him is direction. Give him a target and let him go. He could do a lot of good for the company.

I'm just gonna come right out and say it.. Mick Foley.

When rumors first started circling that Foley was coming to T.N.A., this was the first logical reason why. And to me, it's still a very great match-up to be had. Sure, Foley's shit and without gimmick matches Abyss is roughly average.. but that's where the two can excell.

Bring back the barbwire match. Or even a form of the Monster's Ball match, only just between Foley and Abyss.

Of course the only way for this to work, is with Abyss dropping this "humanized" crap-load of a storyline and turning heel. Most realistically by turning on Mick Foley. From there, have Foley attempt not resorting to his Hardcore nature.. and set-up mini-feuds for Abyss.. like against Morgan, then possibly Samoa Joe, finally ending with one of the most hardcore & violent matches T.N.A. would have, or ever will have put on.. with Mick Foley.

Tacs, Tables, Chairs, Blood, More Blood, possibly Fire, and Barbwire. Throw Foley & Abyss into that impressive display of violence and you have a beautiful match for Abyss to regain a form of what he used to be known for.

I agree 100% with Wills idea. Foley may not be in good shape, but i still think he can put on some decent hardcore matches with Abyss. A feud with Foley would be a great way to bring back the old Abyss, cause his current gimmick is just outright horrible. I really wonder what the fuck they were thinking when they came up with the "humanized" gimmick.

Aside from a feud with Foley, i can picture maybe a feud with Matt Morgan. Have Abyss betray him for some mental reason like paranoia of Matt betraying him or holding him back, etc. Besides that i don't see much in Abyss's future in TNA, just a bunch of useless feuds.

I'm really only posting in this because I watched iMPACT this morning and I've come to the conclusion that he sounds more like Randy Savage than Jay Lethal does.

In TNA there's nothing really left for him to do. Other than wrestle different people. Which is what you can say about almost every single wrestler out there. He shouldn't use any weapons for 10 months, then go all out with Mick Foley at Bound For Glory.

Then go to WWE so he can face Undertaker, Big Show & Kane. That is all.

Good lord will, that is one hell of an idea there. I would love to see Abyss face Mick. OF course this would be one of Mick's final matches, or his last. But lets just face it, who in tna screams hardcore? Abyss and Mick, sure you could throw in rhyno to. But I haven't seen rhyno in a decent hardcore theamed match since he faced aj styles in that x match.

I think Mick could turn it up a notch with Abyss. Because lets just get it down now. Mick foley has the pain tolerence of 5 pregnate chicks having babys at the same time, getting there fingers cut off. Abyss has about the same, No one else in tna can clame to do the shit that abyss has done in the past. But this stupid shit with him turning human needs to get dropped prety quick. I would love to see this fude between him and morgan get dragged out a couple months. Ending at a ppv with mick as a special ref, or an enforcer. And abyss just leaving the both of them bloody

I would like to see a Abyss/Samoa Joe feud. I don't think Joe is going to be in the championship hunt anytime soon and this would fill up a couple of months. Abyss needs to go back to being the monster heel as he is one of the better big men in TNA and WWE. I wish James Mitchell was back because if this feud happens, Joe is dull on the mic and I don't know about the mic skills of Abyss so Mitchell would be perfect. I would also like to see him face Booker T but it looks like he's about to feud with Sewell which I don't understand why but that's a discussion for another day.

I've never been a big fan of Abyss. The guy just doesn't interest me very much. I dislike his gimmick and I'm not a fan of his in ring work. As mentioned earlier, he is the Kane of TNA. His role is to put others over, and he is hardly ever in the spotlight and is considered a main event jobber. Teaming him up with Morgan didn't benefit either men, since they didn't/haven't won the TNA Tag Team Titles yet. I don't care much for Abyss in all honesty. His gimmick would work so much better as a heel, since he has that mean look and the angry gimmick.

Will brought up an excellent idea for Abyss to face Mick Foley in a hardcore match of some sort. Both are well known for taking risks and for using weapons, and I think they could succeed in that type of match-up. An Abyss vs Matt Morgan feud is bound to happen in the near future when they break up as a tag team. And as Sam mentioned, a possible Abyss vs Samoa Joe matchup actually interests me greatly for some reason. Mainly because I'm a fan of Joe and I think both could work well together in the ring. I haven't seen Abyss wrestle AJ Styles yet, and yes I am aware they have faced each other before.

But apart from those 3 main feuds which should take up the rest of 2009 for Abyss, I think he should put over the younger talent such as Jay Lethal, Petey Willams and Eric Young. Abyss is at the stage of his career now where he just isn't good enough or interesting enough to be in the center spotlight or near the World Title in TNA. He still serves a great purpose with the company though, and I'd love to see him in a similar role to Kane by putting over the guys who are the future of TNA.

I think they should make him go apeshit again instead of making him act like a fucking ******. It's what everyone wants to see & it already seems like their doing that to some of their characters already. Who really gives a rat's ass about making him tame. Let him destroy mother fuckers like he did when he was truly "The Monster". Now that will put some asses on the couch & make them switch the damn channel to TNA.
