What would you do......

Occasional Pre-Show
...If you were Vince McMahon? Pretend for a minute that you are Vince. You have more money than God and can do pretty much anything you want to in the wrestling business. What would you do?

My own personal ideas....

1. Trim the fat! No more NXT. No more Superstars. And end the brand extension!!!!!! And most importantly, wish half the roster best wishes on their future endeavors!!!! Fire Kozlov, Darren Young, Goldust, Mark Henry, Primo, R Truth, Ranjun Singh, The Great Khali, William Regal, Chavo, Chris Masters, Curt Hawkins, Finley, Hornswoggle, Joey Mercury, and please God fire JTG!!!!!!!

2. Repackage in FCW for later. Yoshi Tatsu, Zach Ryder, Trent Barretta, and Tyler Reks

3. Heel turn for Santino. He is a hell of a wrestler, great on the mic, and got really good heat when he was a heel. His character now is just annoying and stupid. The Cobra?!?!? For God's sake!!! Have him try to get serious and start getting pissed when everyone keeps laughing at him until he snaps!

4. Keep a few tag teams together and make the titles mean something. Bring back the heyday of E&C, The Hardy Boys, and The Dudleys.

5. Quit pretending that anyone wants to see the Divas do anything but dress in skimpy outfits. Especially the Divas on the roster right now. Only a couple of them could wrestle their way out of a wet paper sack.

6. Buy TNA. Cut the majority of their roster. This presents an opportunity to do-over the invasion angle that you botched so badly a decade ago. Bring over AJ Styles, Alex Shelley, Chris Sabin, The Pope, Hernandez, Jay Lethal, Kazarian, Robert Roode, and Samoa Joe. Have Kurt Angle, Mr. Anderson, and RVD lead the invasion with Flair and Foley as the masterminds behind it.

7. Go down to six pay per views a year.

8. Bring back the cruiserweight division. Justin Gabiel, Heath Slater, Evan Bourne, Tyson Kidd, Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, Lethal, Shelley, Sabin, and Kazarian could be fun!!!

9. Unify the US and Intercontinental belts. Make it meaningful again. Use it to get guys over to the next level. Ziggler, Swagger, McIntyre, Dibiase, Rhodes, and Bryan could all use it.

10. Add a few more guys to the main event card. It is getting kind of lame seeing the same guys over and over.

Anyone elses thoughts?!?!?

Good points. Each one of the 10 you mentioned above would be a topic for a new thread, but you are missing a tiny little point:

Vince is a businessman, if if you were a good businessman, you care about your money, not what fans want. You may say they are related to eachother, but i say its not. You know why? Coz everyone is bitching about WWE in these forums yet everyone watches. For Vince to hear any of those comments you made, their ratings need to drop. If people start to have enough of RAW and only 0.5 rating of people stop watching it, you wouldn't beleive how exciting storylines Vince can come up with his creative team. Most of the above would be done deal. However, currently people continue to watch and its hanging around 3.0 rating while its rival (if you call TNA a rival) can hardly go over 1.2, so why bother?

If you are a businessman and making money without having to make dramatic changes, why fix soemthing that's not broken? If you think it's broken then you need to do something and stop watching...

You want to fire Finlay? Why? He isn't just a wrestler you know. And the WWE needs good veterans to train their wrestlers.

6 PPVs wouldn't happen since PPV is a huge revenue source, and the PPV company enjoys the current amount too. Plus if it is 6 PPVs, you don't think the prices would go up?

Bring back the Hardyz, E&C, and Dudleyz? Attitude Era is over man, get over it. Plus Edge is a main eventer and Christian is a mid card guy currently. Why relive the past? Jeff is still a drug addict and Matt is nowhere near where he once was. Besides the entire tag division in 2000-2001 was those three teams practically.

You end the brand extension you'd have less of a chance to get some other people over.
You have a two hour show with all the guys they have now, how'd they get enough air time?

If I was Vince I'd cut the road schedule to give the stars a break, and just do 12 PPVs a year. Don't need two a month at any time.

I also wouldn't bring back the cruiser division because they only cared when Mysterio would go for the title. Kid Kash vs Juventud? No one cared live. If you would want them to wrestle to their full potential for the shows, you'd have to cut the road schedule. They can't go full 100% 4 days a week and travel.

#1 Actually change the name of WWE back to the World Wide Wrestling Federation.
#2 Future endeavor the creative team and the useless jobbers.

#3 I would keep NXT

#4 Would NOT buy TNA since I wanna compete

#5 Brand split is over.

#6 The World Heavyweight Title and WWE title become the WWWF title looking like an ACTUAL title belt.

#7 U.S. is gone, IC stays.

#8 Plastic butterfly is gone, back with the Women's title.

#9 Call up Brett DiBiase to the main roster.

#10 Emphasize more on tag team wrestling.

#11 Five PPV's a year: Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, King of the Ring, Summerslam, and Survivor Series. The rest of the months are brought back with In Your House.

#12 J.R. returns to commentary. Michael Cole future endeavored.

#13 Disallow backstage politics. If a guy wants a title shot and has worked hard and all yeah I can see how he deserves it; but I won't go for that depushing crap.

#14 Offer health benefits and health insurance to all of my employees.

#15 More progress with new main eventers. Take a chance once in awhile like Miz/Morrison on PPV, especially if that PPV's biggest attraction is another match *Cough*RUMBLE*Cough* The new guys won't always win the titles but you would see more efforts of midcarders being booked strongly and slowly but surely when they get into the main event and win the title it won't be booked like sheer crap.

That's all I can think of.

Good ideas. Now, Vince is making a large amount of money right now, & he has no real competition, so he sees no real reason to change anything. But here are a few ideas:

1) Cut the fat off the roster. As you mentioned, there are plenty of guys who could be released & no one would miss them.

2) End the brand extension, unify the titles (world & mid-card).

3) Do more to create personalities. There was a time when the WWE wanted to introduce a new talent, they would shoot vignettes to introduce the guy. You'd see these for a month or more before the guy actually debuted. They did this with Alberto Del Rio. They need to do it more often. Tyler Reks was on Superstars tonight, & the announcers kept talking about how dark & scary he was. Why not shoot some vignettes that show why he's scary? This goes towards #4...

4) Change the format of "Superstars" to focus more on character development. Show the vignettes & interviews with wrestlers, but just 1 or 2 matches. Right now, it's just a lesser version of Raw or Smackdown.

5) Bring back the curiserweight divison. They've got a ton of talent to fill it, but right now it's just being wasted.

6) Create territories like FCW across the nation. Put 1 in Texas, California, the Midwest. Years ago, guys would hone their skills in the territories before coming to WWE, & they would be more prepared to star. Guys are learning on the fly now, & it shows.

7) Start up WWE Network. I know they plan to do so, but it's been pushed back. They could show programming from the territories & create shows that would help give a platform to the stars & allow them to showcase their personalities, along with showing the classic programming we all love.

8) 5 PPVs: Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Great American Bash, SummerSlam, Halloween Havoc. You can change the names & concepts-replace 1 with King of the Ring. The point is that there are too many PPVs & they need to cut back. Also, I'd make Survivor Series a live Thanksgiving Night tradition, like the NFL does with their games that day. Make Night of Champions a 3 hr event on USA or NBC, either in the summer or December.

Well as said in a post, vince is a business man. From a business aspect, he is doing everything he possibly can to expand WWE and give it as much exposure as possible. That is why he is high on people like Otunga, because he has a connection to Hollywood.

If I were vince and not thinking about money rather thinking about entertainment, I would do the following

1. Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summer Slam, Survivor Series, and King of the Ring would be the PPV's I would have. We don't need a gimmick ppv every 3 weeks. It is better to have a gimmick match be a surprise or a final resort in a fued.

2. I would only have Smackdown! and Raw. NXT and Superstars are just a waste of tv time, in my opinion.

3. Like vince is doing, bring back Tough Enough. That is the show that will expose new wrestlers, not NXT.

4. End the brand extension. It has run its course. They are already bringing on superstars from each show to other shows. It has no meaning anymore

5. Not let a story happen on either Raw or Smackdown until I know how it begins, ends, and the main points. For example, WWE had no idea where they are going with Nexus, they might have ideas but I doubt they started this story thinking CM Punk would takeover and a separate group would be formed called the Corre.

6. Merge the WWE and World title. Have the one best, not two.

7. Get rid of the divas title and make it the womens title. The womens title has so much history to it, it should stay on tv.

8. I would not buy TNA for one reason, competition makes shows better. When WCW and WWF were against each other, both shows were better than ever. Because of TNA, Bret Hart returned on the day he did.

9. Last but not least, Never end Takers streak. Nuff said.

Ok, If I was VKM I would do the following things to improve & run WWE:

1. No Brand Extentsion- have one half of Mid Carders work RAW & another half work Smackdown. Then mix up the Wrestlers each week to perform on each show

2. No PPV's based on Matches. No piggy in the bank, bell in the cell & no TLC! Just keep the matches one thing & the PPV nmes another.

3. *Behind the Scenes* Test & Hire sucessful writers instead of hiring them because they work well woth you socially.

4. Not ignore true talent & potiential; hence giving everyone a chance.

5. No offical roster WWE talent JOBBING to ANYONE.

6. Wouldn't end ECW for a crap rookie show such as NXT. Rather sell it for the urge of competition.

7. Bring more spice & up the anty in the Divas Division. Like have them actually wrestle.

8. Work on having improvement (even for older stars) such as Undertaker, Triple H, Edge, John Cena etc.

9. Hire A+ to B+ fitness trainers to keep the Talent fit in shape to be in such a product.

10. Move the product back up to TV-14. Have more activity AKA Violence happening such as: Blood, Cusssing, Fliping the Bird.

Revitalise the Tag team division.

The easy and simple way to do this is to bring in some fresh, talented tag teams to give the division some depth. Stop just throwing together random superstars who aren't do anything and make some tag teams which are just tag teams. Have tag team matches where no belts are on the line to develop rivalries. Have tag teams stay together for a long period of time to get some continuity and help them get over. Stop just making tag teams a vehicle to get average wrestlers over.

Also, it's been said a hundred times before, but the WWE really could have one hell of a cruiserweight division if they bought it back: Bourne, Bryan, Kidd, Tatsu, Morrison etc. Mouthwatering.

Why would Vince do anything different then what he is doing right now? He is still in the plus, making money, not losing any and that's his job. If I were Vince I'd do what he's done for the past twenty years and if you don't like it too bad.

god some of you guys just want to change everything.not me i think 3 easy things would help so much!!

1.no more PG...Use the rating TNA uses

2.8 ppvs a year...PPV's are big money.6 is to little and 12 is to much..8 seems like a good number

3.end the brAnd extension

The only thing I would change about WWE is move Smackdown! back to Thursday nights.

More people tend to be at home on a weekday (Monday & Thursday for example) compared to a Friday night where most probably tend to kick start their weekend that night.

Other than that, I am happy with what WWE is putting out speaking as someone who has watched this company's product since 1990.

If there's any company that needs drastic changes then come with me and let's cross the line, shall we?
