What Has Been Your Favorite PPV of the Year?

I meant to do this thread in June when about half the PPV's were over, but then I just plain forgot about it. But, anyways, What PPV has been the best this year? Here is a list of the past PPV's of 2012(not including what I feel are Indy Promotions)

WWE:
  1. Royal Rumble
  2. Elimination Chamber
  3. Wrestlemania
  4. Extreme Rules
  5. Over the Limit
  6. No Way Out

TNA/IW:
  1. Genesis
  2. Against All Odds
  3. Victory Road
  4. LockDown
  5. Sacrifice
  6. Slammiversary
  7. Destination X

In my opinion, Slammiversary had the best wrestling matches. Sure it may not have had the best storylines, but they had two ,IMO, 5 star matches in Austin Aries vs. Samoa Joe, and Kurt + AJ vs. Kaz + Daniels.

For me it comes to Slammiversary or Destination X. Both were great PPV's! I will however give the edge to Slammiversary.

While Destination X had the better main event and two additional fantastic matches (Last Man Standing and the Joe/Angle match) I pick Slammiversary because it was more solid from top to bottom, and the tag match was the best match this year IMO.

This is just personal preference, but I am going to have to say Extreme Rules. I didn't get to see Slammiversary, but it looks like I will have to check it out. Extreme Rules was my top one because it exceeded any expectations I had. It had the really good 2 out of 3 falls match between Sheamus and Bryan along with Punk/Jericho and Lesner/Cena. In some ways it was actually better than Wrestlemania. It was a solid PPV from start to finish.

Wrestlemania, the safe pick, was amazing I thought. I enjoyed Over the Limit and No Way Out strictly because of Punk/Bryan...with a hint of Kane of course. I also really, really liked the Ziggler/Sheamus match - being on the edge of my seat during the duration of the match.

Slammiversary was solid but didn't leave me with goosebump by any means. So I'd for TNA, it'd have to be Destination X.

WWE: Over the Limit
TNA: Destination X

I'll go with WrestleMania 28 on WWE basically because in terms of history that PPV will last throughout the ages. We had two classic bouts, first off one of the best Hell in a Cell's in history of the industry. It was a story, a match full with drama and with three of the best performers in history. Watching this match will always be a joy to every fan, even HHH haters loved that match, they had too.

The second one is The Rock vs. John Cena. I guess some people don't really realize the magnitude of the match. We had two of the biggest stars ever created giving us a complete dream match. While the match itself didn't delivered as much as we would expect, the fact of that matter is that it will be remembered by the stars on it. Hulk Hogan v. Andre wasn't a good match, in fact it was godly awful, but we all know that their match was huge in terms of history.

On the TNA side, I think that Slammiversary was the best one, probably because it had reliable superstars with reliable star power while in Destination X we had a lot of time spent on rookies.

Extreme Rules : CM Punk vs Chris Jericho was great along with Brock Lesnar vs John Cena. The Extreme Rules PPV even felt bigger than Wrestlemania. Wrestlemania 28 was just hype. HHH vs Undertaker wasn't that good because the Hell in a Cell wasn't even used and we have already seen that match 2 times at Wrestlemania (17 and 27). Rock vs Cena sucked. CM Punk vs Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania was good but the Extreme Rules match was better.

Destination-X : Kurt Angle vs Samoa Joe was fantastic and Austin Aries vs Bobby Roode was great and Austin Aries winning the World Title made the PPV better than Slammiversary.

BEST WWE PPV. MONEY IN THE BANK

i know its not on the list but i watched it this morning and it was amazing. but if have to pick one from the list then it would be wrestlemania. i thought the rest of the ppv's that wwe have put on this year were a bit of a letdown until money in the bank last night.

BEST TNA PPV. DESTINATION X

I have been surprise by the quality of tna's ppv's this year there have been so many good one's. but it has to be destination x. the aj vs danials match was fantastic. i will never get tired of watching those two wrestle. kurt vs joe was also a amazing match. but what topped it off for me was the main event of aries vs roode. for me that was one of the matches of the year so far.

2012:
Best WWE PPV: Wrestlemania (Extreme rules a very close second)
Best TNA PPV: Sacrifice (Aries vs Bully Ray will be the match of the year for me)

2011:
Best WWE PPV: Extreme Rules
Best TNA PPV: Lockdown

Easily WM. It did everything a major PPV should do. It got attention, and booked a true Main Event.

Gosh MITB was great and Wrestlemania did everything right but my gut says Destination X. Austin Aries is everything right about pro wrestling today and to see him up against a stud like Bobby Roode and actually win gave me a good feeling of hope for the business in the future.

Also that gotta say that Slammiversary match with Styles/Angle vs Daniels/Kaz was awesome.

For WWE, it was Extreme Rules. I can't recall a bad match on the PPV and the main event between Cena/Lesnar was awesome. Never really saw MMA utilized as much in a wrestling match as it was in this, it was like watching a Wrestling vs. MMA match.

For TNA, it was Destination X. Again, there wasn't a bad match on the card. I was happy to see Joe go over Angle, it's been a long time since Joe got a high profile win. I liked Zema Ion winning the whole tournament, I thought it would be somebody new or who had just returned but Ion winning was the right decision as he busted his butt off for a year in the company unlike the others and with Sorenson's return on the PPV, it sets up Ion vs. Sorenson for the X-Division Title perfectly in the future. And obviously the main event & Aries winning the title just spelled epic all over. Oh and I loved seeing Sonjay back, he was one of the main reasons why I wanted to watch the PPV.

There have been a ton of good ones so far, which is promising for the second half of the year.

I LOVED Slammiversary, Lockdown and Destination X for TNA. All three were really well done and all three had at least one match that left you feeling like the entire PPV was worth it. But in the end, Destination X had the great Aries win and fantastic matches with Angle vs. Joe and Daniels vs. Styles. So, it is the TNA winner for me right now.

In WWE, I liked MiTB alot, but nothing is going to top Mania. HHH v. Taker with HBK hanging around was simply as good as it gets. Cena vs. Rock might not have been magical ringwork, but was something you HAD to watch. Extreme Rules had UNBELIEVABLY good World Title matches with Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan and Punk vs. Jericho, but it still didn't have the feel of the other two.

In the end, I go with the big dog. WrestleMania 28. I loved Destination X and think it may grow on me in time, but WM was done very well, especially with the matches that people wanted ... and in the end, it was 4 hours of wrestling television that was very difficult to not be glued to.
