What happened to a good old fashion cartoon?

Anyone notice that they dont have cartoon's on tv like they use to. When I was a kid they had cartoons on nick, and disney channel. Now kids are stuck with shows like hannah montana.

I remember stuff like digimon, tail spin, Ninja turtle, doug, rugrats.

Now, kids have wizards of waverly place, hannah montana and other show's like that. None of them are actual cartoons anymore. What Happend?

No clue. The cartoons they put out now are crap too. There are zero good stories or characters and they change them around every 18 seconds. How I pine for the old days.

No but really, the cartoons of today may be just as good as the cartoons of yesteryear, we just aren't of the right age or mind to appreciate them.

Not true. I actually enjoy SpongeBob, but I wouldn't say it's better than Hey Arnold or Doug, which had cartoon antics combined with deep and interesting characters and Hey Arnold in particular had very mature themes. You don't see that much anymore. SpongeBob is very one-dimensional.

I miss the Hanna-Barberra cartoons and all the old Looney Tunes. I also liked the old Superman cartoon, and the Batman cartoon that ran for quite a while, everyone should know that one. I agree that they aren't what they used to be. I also miss the old nickelodeon sitcoms like "Salute Your Shorts" "Hey Dude" "Are You Afraid of the Dark" "The Adventures of Pete and Pete"(My personal favorite) "Clarissa Explains It All" and the originator "You Can't Do That On Television". What ever happened to those? Or the kids game shows like "Double Dare" "Nick Arcade" and "Guts"?

I used to watch Rocket Power, Rugrats, Spongebob as a kid eating my cereal of a morning before school, Rugrats was the shit though i even bought the Playstation game, i also remember Digimon and DBZ and DB GT.

I really miss the shows that Nickelodeon put on in the 90's. Rugrats was always a favorite of mine. I also liked All That, Kenan and Kel, Hey Arnold.

I actually asked my 10 year old niece a while back if she liked Kenan and Kel and she said she never heard of them. I was almost brought to tears. Drake and Josh was nothing but a cheap, cheap rip-off of the greatness that was Kenan and Kel.

Its almost like Mr. McMahon turned cartoons into a "PG era" too. No blood. No swearing. No irrational violence. Just fart sounds, midgets and dumbasses 12 or older.

What it is pretty good. Not as good as the stuff that use to be on TV or anything but its pretty good. I say about a 6 or 7 out of 10
