What Do You Expect From WWE Next Year?

Hem

Getting Noticed By Management
So what do you think happens in the WWE during the year 2016? I believe it will be a boom year and heres why:

1). Plethora Of NXT Talent To Be Called Up: Hideo Itiami, Sami Zayn, Finn Balor, Enzo and Cass, Baron Corbin, Joe, Storm, Jordan and Gable, Crews, Bayley, Asuka are all talents who can be used TODAY. They are all ready in my opinion. I highly doubt they all debut next year but some will for sure. Every single division will have a huge star debut whether it be the Women, Tag, Midcard or Main Event.

2). Superstars Return: Another infusion of talent only this time, they are coming back. Cesaro, Rollins, Bryan, Orton, Sting are top players...who are all injured. They could all return if they heal up in time. Rock, Batista, Goldberg are also names who could come back for a feud or two.

3). New Champions: Ambrose, Owens, Wyatt, Cesaro are all guys who have yet to hold the main championship. I think at least two of these guys gets the belt during the year. That means fresh things!

4) The Authority Goes Away: Been a long time coming and hopefully it all comes to an end next year.

5). Superstars Go Part Time: I expect guys like Randy Orton, Kane, Big Show and to an extent John Cena to go part time or at least have a few months off.

6). Legends Retire: The Undertaker, Sting, Mark Henry, Kane, Big Show all have proved all that they need to and then some. Its time these fellas get a proper send off and ride into the sunset.

7). The Turns: Ambrose turns into his real heel self, Rollins breaks out as the top babyface, etc.

8). Night After WM: I'm looking forward to this maybe as much as this years WM. They will have their largest crowd ever for WM this and the night after will for sure be an epic show to send those fans home happy.

9: Smackdown Matters Again: A move to USA, a new show structure and maybe a brand split to top it all off. SD could climb up to its old ranking of being THE SHOW.

10). TNA Grabs A Top Guy: if TNA has the money then it will for sure try to snatch guys who's contract are expiring soon. Ziggler may be the one. The biggest could be Daniel Bryan.

What I expect or what I'd like to see?

Less programming on TV. I feel WWE has burnt itself out with too much time on TV. Specifically 3 hours of Raw that I can easily watch the next day on YouTube in 20 minutes. Add to this Total Divas, Legends with JBL, Stone Cold Podcast, Breaking Ground , and it's almost a part-time job to keep up with everything. The quantity of all this is only breeding lesser quality.

Andre The Giant Battle Royal being strictly for NXT Stars.

Eliminating Money in The Bank in favor of the traditional King of The Ring.

Less NXT talent being brought up with no real direction.

Doing something creative with the Divas. Divas Revolution was nothing more than a glorified tag team tournament with no rewards. Nothing different than what they were doing before the Revolution - they were STILL in 3 Diva tag matches.

Less emphasis on part timers in main event roles.

Eliminate the Slammys

Eliminate on air authority roles.

Better writing , longer higher quality matches. More heel/face turns. Better writing. Shed an hour off RAW for the love of all things holy. Better writing. Shed a few PPVs so a proper build can be had between shows. Change up the commentating table on both programs. Hire NXT commentators for RAW. Have a two man table and that's it. Drop the three man concept, it's too crowded. Better writing. Do something with SmackDown , delete it, put Nxt in its place, something. Get Kurt Angle back in WWE, get Goldberg back in WWE. Add some special event part timers to add to the card if needed to help elevate the current roster. Bring Hulk Hogan back in the fold for at least one more match at Wrestlemania 32 or 33. Have him fight a current roster opponent who will make both look good. Better writing.

They are forced to finally push an influx of guys into the main event due to older guys retiring or just flat out becoming stale (Orton, Cena).

Daniel Bryan either comes back and is a star again OR requests his release and goes and Bret Hart-Goldbergs himself in ROH, UFC or (long shot) GFW.

Cena will continue to NOT go heel until they A.) Find a superman company guy to replace Cena himself and B.) Create more main event faces for Cena to even feud with once he does go heel.

New Day breaks up and Big E becomes a main eventer.

Likely none of the above and they're still trying to get Roman Reigns over in December 2016.

What I expect and what I hope may well be different things.

What I Expect:

A better and more exciting build for WrestleMania.

A mix of good and poor quality at various points for various aspects of the product at any given time of the year.

The rise of a handful of stars including Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens to being upper mid-card/main event mainstays.

John Cena winning his 16th World Championship.

Some degree of growth for the mid-card, tag team and women's championships while the solidity in those areas increases more than the actual growth.

A handful of NXT stars brought to the main roster including Finn Balor and Bayley.

What I'd hope to see:

A return to simple, more readily accessible and easy to invest in storylines.

More focus placed on logic and continuity within storylines.

An end to scripted promos so that talent has a chance for more growth in their personas.

A continued reduction in various "sports entertainment" themed aspects. We've seen a definite decrease, overall, the past few years, maybe with a bit more influx this year than in the past 2 or 3 prior, but I'm hoping for more reduction.

Vince McMahon to allow Triple H to make final creative decisions. I think that's the best chance for the sort of simple, easily to invest in storylines and having more attention placed on simple logic and continuity; Vince changes his mind so often and sometimes right smack in the middle of something that it gets frustrating

Realization that it's high time to put a much focus on producing and progressing strong talent meant to help carry the company for the next decade. Cena & Orton have done everything already, Taker's getting too old, Sting's already too old, Lesnar isn't around nearly enough and there's entirely too many instances of the younger guys being jobbed out to the established guard whenever feuds between them come about.

Return Raw to a 2 hour format and feature SmackDown live. The 3 hour format for Raw has run its course, go back to having a 3 hour show for special occasions a few times a year. If you want the blue brand to at least feel like it has as much importance as Raw now that it's moved to USA, it needs to be treated with the same level of importance and that includes having it air live. It may not pay off in the short term, but it could in the long run if Vince seriously wants it to be a priority now than it's going to be on USA.

Cena should win back the US Title (or possibly the Intercontinental Title since he has never won it) and does the Open Challenge thing again. His open challenge segments were great. A great veteran taking on young wrestlers in great matches.

Book Reigns as a beast. Have him win all the time and win quickly and decisively. Give him the title for a whole year, maybe longer.

The tag division has a lot of space to grow. Have 2 or 3 tag matches a night with permanent tag teams. Call almost every team a viable contender for the title. Let tag teams main event Raw and Smackdown sometimes. Possibly even a PPV at some point.

The same with the Diva's division as the tag. Don't put valet style diva's in matches. Keep the best few wrestling often. Actually do a diva's revolution instead of saying you are doing one. Give them one or two 10 minute segments/matches each week.

Sort out the camera work. They do way too many cuts. I think they are trying to simulate hollywood action scenes where they cut constantly. It doesn't work in a live sport type situation.

The commentators argue more than WCW ones, it is obnoxious and should stop. Do whatever it takes to stop the petty yelling and not paying attention to the match. Fire JBL if you have to, just get him and Cole to stop yelling at each other the way they do. The best commentators have a back and forth flow, not a 'I can talk louder than you' argument.

Just from the top of my head;

- Survivor Series to actually be decent. About time they treated this as a big 4 PPV again.
- The drop of a PPV. The two week build just did nothing for Elimation PPV. I wouldn't be fully against keeping the elimination chamber ppv but if you are telling me that the piss weak IC title chamber match they came up with was better than having the world title on the line then maybe I just don't understand the wrestling business. I know the chamber itself is an appeal and you had a few decent names in their but come on. The only interesting about the match was where the vacant title would land which I know is the whole point but if Bryan wasn't champion before then I think it would of just killed anything this match had. I'm probably more ranting at the PPV itself but that's because apart from Ambrose and Seth and Cena and Owens was the only thing that made sense in the 2 week build up.
- Finn Balor probably moving up to the main roster along with Corbin making spotty appearances start the first 6 months.
- Making a big deal out of Takers likely last full year. By that I mean if he continues on it wont be past Mania 33
- For Mania 32 to be very underwhelming whatever is on the card
- A few returning superstars. Maybe Jeff Hardy by TLC to name one specifically.
- Reigns vs Cena to be the most hyped up match by WWE since Rock and Cena.

Plethora Of NXT Talent To Be Called Up: Hideo Itiami, Sami Zayn, Finn Balor, Enzo and Cass, Baron Corbin, Joe, Storm, Jordan and Gable, Crews, Bayley, Asuka are all talents who can be used TODAY.

Yes, 2016 will be the year youth will be served. No, all the folks listed above won't be joining the main roster, if for no other reason than that NXT has to be left with something with which to operate.

But the talented young people who populate the breeding grounds will be making their influence felt.....while led by other young people like Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, followed by still other youngsters like Dean Ambrose, Rusev, Kevin Owens, Neville, & others................and augmented by the coming exploits of Finn Balor and Sami Zayn.

The old favorites? They'll still be around, and don't expect their entire function to be jobbing to these new folks. If you believe John Cena's sole purpose will be to elevate the careers of the new breed, you're in for a disappointment. With the degree of power he has in the organization, many folks don't appreciate how great it is that he's willing to boost others.

Yes, he'll be doing more of what he did for Alberto Del Rio, Kevin Owens and Rusev, but the old guard has plenty to do in addition to that. Many other veterans will work to put over the younger people, even as they continue to have success in their own careers.

It's going to be an exciting year and I'm anxious to see how things shake out.

Sasha wins the Divas title from Charlotte at WM
Cena ties Flair's record by defeating Reigns for the title at Summerslam
Cesaro and Kidd reunite in the tag division
More NXT debuts
A tease of the WM 33 main event goes down at WM 32 between Rock/HHH or Brock/Rock
KO becomes a main eventer.

I never expect because it leads to disappointments only :(

So these are the things i want to happen in WWE

1. Finn Balor debuts at either Royal Rumble or Wrestlemania
2. Divas Title to Women Title by Paige
3. Sasha defeating Paige for Women Title at Wrestlemania
4. Seth Rollins returning as a face and going over Triple H
5. Better booking of Women Division and Mid-Card Division
6. Bray Wyatt to be a Champion (Any leaving tag)
7. Cesaro to be atleast Mid-Card Champ
8. Bayley debuts
9. Undertaker retires at Wrestlemania
10. Big Show and Mark Henry too
11. No Authority Please
12. Enzo & Cass Mechanics Gable & Jordan debuts
13. Austin Aries Gunner at NxT
14. Lightweight Division

Too many

I just expect when the injured wrestlers come back for the product to get better. Creative has to live up to their name and start writing interesting stories, and not the crap we had last year.

No more love triangles, no more bullshit. Keep it simple. I think we'll see just how well the year will be with the Rumble and who wins it. That will be their first big test. They can play it safe or start elevating talent. Hopefully it's the latter.

I want to see a lot happen in WWE in 2016. A lot of this stuff won't happen, and some of it probably shouldn't. It's just what I'd want to see.

NXT call-ups - Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Sami Zayn, Hideo Itami, Baron Corbin, Appolo Crews, Enzo/Cass, Asuka, Emma

Returns - Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan, Tyson Kidd, Cesaro (obviously) Kurt Angle, Goldberg, Rob Van Dam (a little less obvious)

John Cena to stay in the upper mid-card scene and putting over maybe 3-4 wrestlers clean

The Authority to be limited - Not disbanded or written off completely but less promos and focus in the main storylines

Kevin Owens, Dean Ambrose, and Bray Wyatt all solidifying themselves as main eventers and winning the WWE Championship at least once

Damien Sandow to actually be relevant

The Miz and Tyler Breeze to form a tag team

Kane, Mark Henry, Big Show, and R-Truth to retire - I like all four of them, but they're all past their prime and irrelevant

Brock Lesnar to go full-time

Heel Turns - John Cena, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, Ryback

Face Turns - Seth Rollins

A few gimmicks to return - Damien Sandow's intellectual savior of the masses gimmick, Bad News Barrett, Leo Kruger, etc.

The MITB Ladder Match to return to WrestleMania

Extreme Rules, Elimination Chamber, Money in the Bank, Hell in a Cell, and TLC to all be scrapped (No gimmick-themed PPVs)

Vince McMahon to be written off TV and for Triple H to have the final say in storylines

Raw to be 2 hours and Smackdown to be live and worth watching

Fatal 4 Way Tag Team TLC Matches to return maybe twice a year on any random Raw or Smackdown

Go back to TV-14 - Blood and a little more cursing. More offensive/over-the-top storylines. Such as Rusev burning an American flag or assaulting a war veteran.

Michael Cole and JBL to announce Raw and Smackdown

Not a single mention of any form of social media

Several wrestlers to be inducted into the Hall of Fame - Fabulous Freebirds, Owen Hart , Dynamite Kid, Davey Boy Smith, Rick Rude, and Sting

For WWE to stop pretending certain wrestlers don't exist - mainly Benoit and Hogan (I don't approve of what they did, but you can't deny their accomplishments)

A few wrestlers to be released - Darren Young, Diego, Fernando, El Torito, Fandango, Hornswoggle, Brie Bella, Cameron, Eva Marie, Rosa Mendes, Summer Rae, Tamina

Zeb Colter to be Jack Swagger's manager again

Cesaro and Tyson Kidd to tag team again

This covers just about everything. I know a lot of this won't happen or is even possible, but it's just what I'd like to see.

A lot of things I would like have already been mentioned, but one thing that someone said that I'd especially like would be Cena in the upper mid-card.

His US Championship reign was awesome and the US Championship Open Challenge was great because you'd never know who would answer and he'd wrestle guys he normally wouldn't work with. Cena has been the top star for 10 years now, dropping him to the upper-midcard and putting him in semi-mains won't hurt him. Have him lose to Reigns at Fast Lane, giving Reigns some credibility as champion, and then he can be in the upper-mid card working with some of the NXT guys or something
