What Are People's Thoughts On Jimmy Wang Yang?

I watched the guy Friday Night on SmackDown for the first time as I have not been watching SmackDown recently and I was pleasently surprised.

For a tall guy he really brings a fresh style to the cruiserweight division. He was very quick and kept me watching the whole way through his 6 man tag match. Any comments?

I think he's a great wrestler but I'm not to sure about the redneck gimmick he's stuck with, and I would also like to see him change his finisher to some other type of high flying movie, the moonsault is great but it's so common in wrestling today that if JYW were to use something like the 450 splash or the shooting star I think it would make the end of his matches better

I hate the gimmick. Why draw attention to the fact he's a different race. Just have him as Jimmy Yang. Comedy gimmick's dont work or last. Not that it matter's though the Cruiserweight division is dead.

im glad i had smackdown taped so i could fast forward through the match.
i think that if he dropped the redneck gimmick people would like him more. hes a good wrestler. But come on (not trying to be racist sorry if it is) what are the chances of him being asian and a redneck? i actually like the wisper in the wind type move (i think thats his finisher). the moonslaut of top rope onto the standing opponent. but lose the gimmick.

yeah same here he's a great crusierweight..but the gimmick has got to go...i liked him better when he was an asian mafia guy for tajiri...and i know he can pull off a better finisher then a moonsault to a standing opponent..

I agree that the gimmick is not the best gimmick in the world but if you look past the gimmick to his matches, he's a very entertaining young man.

well jimmy wang yang is from nashville I believe, soo i think he might be more redneck then you guys think. I think hes a very talented wrestler and I believe that this gimmick is the only way wwe will give him a decent push

Yang might as well run around and use the Bushwacker's gimmick for pete's sake. Michael Hayes and the rest of the mental wizards must've brainstormed for a month to come up with Yang's gimmick. The guy is a credible wrestler...how 'bout that for a gimmick? Especially in a division where the wrestling needs to be the prime focus. I love Jimmy's performances and have since his days in the Jung Dragons, but this crap is so stupid it's frightening.

It just shows that the WWE cares more about trying to market people for their gimmicks and not for their wrestling ability with Yang. This stupid character is awful anyway and has gotten old quickly, and it really takes away from the guy's credibility. He is a good, exciting wrestler but he doesn't need these gimmicks to get over. I mean, an Asian Redneck? What the hell were they smoking when they thought of that? I mean if they can't think up of good gimmicks anymore, why not just go back to the basics instead of trying to think up of anything abstract to sell merchandise? He is a good Cruiserweight and should be the face of the Cruiserweight division for a while because he doesn't seem suited anywhere else. The fans do like him, except the gimmick has wore off on everyone.

i think they need to push the cruiserweights like tna does the x division

once they get mystico in and have him feud with rey

i think wang yang and devari could have a great series

helms is a great top heel

and maybe break up the tag champs and have them beef over ashley

Jimmy Yang is awesome in the ring, but, his gimmick ain't doing for him. His gimmick is as stupid as Eugene's gimmick. You cannot be a high flyer and be a cowboy. Cowboy have a ground-based offense, they are not high flyers. WWE don't know what to do with his gimmick, because WWE was cutting promos for him for about a month long, and then, when he finally gets into the ring, then, he jobs to someone. Then, he ain't seen again, for about 2-3 weeks, and then loses again. What's the purpose of having him cut promos, if, you're just going have him job? WWE has no emphasis on the cruiserweight division at all. It's just slopped in there, just like the Women's division. The CW division has the potential to be great, but, WWE just don't use their talent right.
