Were 41 days away from Wrestlemania and the first stop on the real Road to Wrestlemania is here in Fresno. The main event on the Raw side is Cena vs. Miz which does sound like a big match if done right. WWE has a lot of momentum right now with a good show last night, Rocks return last week and the arrival of whoever 2-21-11 is about tonight should mean this will be a big night for WWE. Lets get to it.
We open with a shot of a clock counting down to 2-21-11 which is set to end in roughly an hour.
Theme song.
Cena opens the show and says what a day and what a crowd. Theres a Rocky chant as he gets ready to talk. The fans seemed to be split when he came out but cheering more for him than booing. He won the Elimination Chamber last night and is going to Wrestlemania. Last night should have been a fun night filled with wine, women and song, but this isnt your typical night.
Since last week he hasnt been hearing about the Miz or the Elimination Chamber but rather about alleged comments Rock made about him. People have been asking what Cena is going to say about the Rock, but Cena isnt sure what to do. He was planning on just letting it go because its the Rock. We look at the footage and Rocks face on screen gets a big old pop.
We see the clip from last week of Rock ripping Cena apart for the catchphrase and the hand gestures and the colorful shirt. Rock said hell see Cena at Wrestlemania. Cena says that Rock was making fun of him and Cena should probably say something right? Theres only one way for Cena to call someone out but he hasnt done it in a long time. However, he still has a degree in Thuganomics. If he doesnt take care of this tonight he cant focus on Wrestlemania. This is a one time only thing.
After a brief warmup hes in a Fresno State (location of the show) of mind and he gets out the chain. I wont try to put what he says here but his great line is I was speaking the truth. You left us all hanging to play a fairy about a tooth? Cena is like a big purple pinwheel Rock so go ahead and blow him.
Theres a Witch Mountain/Brokeback Mountain joke in there as Cena is ripping into all of the movie titles of Rock. The fans are into this it seems and definitely arent booing. To close it out he said we couldnt see Rock for seven years but Cena is here every week to show what the fans mean to him. Find this online as Cena completely owned Rock here.
Cole is going to interview King later.
Morrison vs. Punk next.
46 minutes left in the clock.
John Morrison vs. CM Punk
Morrison can barely walk and do his pose due to the knee injury last night. Punk is limping as well. This is one of the best rivalries in years in WWE. Think back to how many times theyve fought over the years. Morrison hammers away in the corner and Punk is in trouble to start. He slips to the floor though and rams Morrisons knee into the apron to take over. Punk is moving much better than Morrison here.
Punk busts out the Haas of Pain of all things. Its like a Sharpshooter but Punk is laying next to Morrison and puts his foot on the crossed legs of Morrison and bends Morrison back. Morrison gets out and fires away again. And never mind as Punk gets a kick to the knee and the GTS ends this clean at 2:57. That came out of absolutely nowhere.
Post match Punk talks to Randall Keith Orton about how Punk is right here and waiting on Orton. The New Nexus has the night off and this isn't a trap. Everything is about choices. Today these people bought a ticket to see Punk. In September of 2008, Orton made a choice to punt Punk in the head and cost him the title.
He points at the Mania sign and says that Punk isn't going there because Punk is going to hurt him. Orton needs to walk away and not be here next week or Punk will hurt him. Cue Orton through the crowd and Punk runs. New Nexus comes out but Punk shoves them away and a stand off takes us to a break.
Heres Ricardo to introduce Del Rio for his match. As Del Rio is doing his entrance, Kofi jumps Alberto. There was a bell before Del Rio came out and a referee is out there so Im assuming this is a match. They never get into the ring though and Del Rio puts the Cross Armbreaker on the heavily bandaged arm and leaves Kofi laying. I guess this wasnt a match. Kofi gets up and Del Rio jumps him again and Kofi is in trouble.
Miz is up next as we have 23:30 to go in the clock.
Heres the WWE Champion to talk about the Rock. He talks about remembering Rock ripping people apart time after time and was thrilled to hear what Rock had to say about him. The best Rock could do is say that Miz sucks? Really? Really? REALLY? Hes heard better from kindergarteners. Let him wipe his tears in his championship gold. Miz doesnt care what the fans think of him and hes the most must see WWE Champion there is. This was a lot better than it sounds.
We get an E-Mail which says enough about the Rock as the GM will deal with Rock when the GM is ready. We get a Rock N Sock Connection reference and tonight the tag titles are on the line with Corre vs. Miz/Cena. Please ..not this angle AGAIN.
Back with I kid you not George Washington vs. Abraham Lincoln. Cena does a run-in to beat up George Washington. Its for the WWE All-Stars game if that makes you feel any better.
Bella Twins vs. Eve Torres/Gail Kim
Fast paced brawl to start with Gail dominating. Nice cross body by her gets two. The other Bella pulls Gail off the apron and it looked like her head slammed into the floor. This is a very aggressive match. Eve comes in and does the standing moonsault for two as the other Bella distracts her. Rollup by Eve doesnt work as Twin Magic occurs and one Bella pins Eve at 2:30. This was nothing.
Less than three minutes and we take a break.
Back with the countdown starting at 25 seconds. We see shots of the house and the crowd counts it down as the door on the house is opened. Yep its Taker to almost no ones shock. Still cool though with Johnny Cash playing him to the ring. Theres the gong and the place lights up. Big explosions and Takers symbol hangs over the ring. He takes the hat off, AND ITS TIME TO PLAY THE GAME!!!! HHH is back too!
He does the corner pose and Taker stares him down. HHH looks over his shoulder and the music ends. BIG HHH chant starts up. They get nose to nose and HHH looks at the Mania sign. Then Taker looks at the Mania sign. Taker .smirks at HHH and puts the hat back on. Deadman turns his back on the Game as the sign hangs over both of them. Taker turns to face the Game and gives him a throat slash. Not a word has been said this whole time. HHH holds up his arms and does the crotch chop. They stare down again and we go to a break. Cool segment.
Sheamus vs. Mark Henry
They brawl to start and Henry grabs a bearhug and throws him to the floor with ease. Very slow and lumbering match here as were back in the ring. Slingshot shoulder block gets two for the king. Henry rams Sheamus into the corner to take over. A splash misses and Sheamus kicks him in the chest. Sheamus pulls the turnbuckle off and Henry rams him into the exposed buckle. Worlds Strongest Slam ends this at 3:50.
Miss USA is going to be on Tough Enough. I give up.
Daniel Bryan and Gail are in the back but Sheamus comes up to get in his face.
The latest inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame is Hacksaw Jim Duggan! This works fine for me.
Cole is here to talk to Jerry Lawler. They cant fight or theyre both fired. Oh and Cole reminds us again that hes a journalist. The interview is next.
Heres Lawler and Coles first question is what was it like knowing that last night was his big night. Jerry says nothing. How did it feel when he realized his dreams were going to be shattered and he was going to lose to the awesome Miz? Did that mean maybe Cole was right and that it was time to retire? Jerry says nothing.
What was it like when you were laying on your back and you realized that your deceased mother, no disrespect, had the best seat in the house and that your Wrestlemania dreams were over, how did you feel when you realized you let your mother down? Jerry grabs Cole by the coat and says if Cole ever mentions his mother again itll be the last thing Cole ever says. Hes had enough of listening to Cole.
Jerry says hes going to Wrestlemania and hes issuing an open challenge: Lawler vs. Cole. Cole calls Lawler senile and runs back to the announce desk. Lawler says be a man and show us what youve got. Jerry asks if Cole is a coward and Cole takes his jacket off and throws his drink in Jerrys face. Cole runs into the crowd and Jerry is pissed.
Tag title match next.
Tag Titles: The Miz/John Cena vs. Heath Slater/Justin Gabriel
According to Josh this is unprecedented for some reason. Miz vs. Slater to start us off. All Miz so far as he beats on both Corre members. Cena responds with a golf clap and is tagged in to a good pop. Back off to Miz as the champions have had nothing for the most part. Theres the Skull Crushing Finale and its over in 3:12. What the hell? Uh ok then. No rating due to the length as its 10 minutes til 11:00 so theres a lot more to come here.
Barrett says hold it as the Corre is invoking their rematch clause right now. An E-Mail says ring the bell. The match starts post break.
Tag Titles: The Miz/John Cena vs. Heath Slater/Justin Gabriel
Back with the match already in progress and Miz holding a wristlock on Gabriel. Cena comes in as does Slater. Cross body by Cena gets two and its back off to Miz. The WWE Champion is knocked to the floor and Corre holds Riley back so Miz can be beaten down by Gabriel. Slater gets two on Miz. Off to a chinlock by Slater which gets him nowhere. Its weird seeing Miz as the defacto face. Neckbreaker by Slater gets two.
Gabriel in now but Miz fights him off and hits that knee to the back/neckbreaker combo. He cant make the tag though as Slater is tagged in for the save. Miz still can't make a tag and Gabriel throws on a headlock. The crowd is WAY into this too which is making things a lot better.
Gabriel is sent to the apron and tries to come in off the top. He jumps into a big boot though and Cena wants a tag. Ask and ye shall receive as it's Cena vs. Slater now. Cena initiates his ending sequence and there's the 5 Knuckle Shuffle and FU. Actually it isn't as Miz shoves Cena over with something like the Skull Crushing Finale and Slater gets the pin to regain the titles at 12:00!

This is the last elimination before we get to the finals which I think are next week but Im not entirely sure. Im not sure who goes home tonight but hopefully its Curtis. No idea what to expect on tonights show as theyve had a match where everyone competes so maybe itll be more pro vs. rookie matches. Lets get to it.
Curtis and Truth open us up and Truth tells us that none of the Pros are going to be there tonight. They trade clichés about being alone and Curtis says hes a one man wolf pack tonight, complete with a howl.
Ricardo says some stuff in Spanish to Brodus and then in Spanish says Brodus is on his own tonight.
Nothing from Bateman and Bryan? Ok then.
Into the arena we go with Striker bringing in the rookies. Oh sorry I fell asleep when Curtis was on my screen. Im back now. There appears to be a finish line in front of them. Next week is the final apparently. You can still earn immunity for tonight though. At the moment Clay has 5 points and the others have zero. There are two challenges tonight and the first is the Grace Under Pressure Physical Challenge.
First up they play beer pong, then build a tower according to a picture with blocks, then they have to flip a cup then fourth they have to use chop sticks to put a set of dice in the right order. Wait did I wake up or not? Curtis goes first and the booing is insane. The cup flip thing is you put it on the edge of a table and have to flip it so that it lands upright. Curtis takes 1:19 flat. I stopped watching Wrestlemania 22 for this?
Bateman is second and is booed out of the building for sucking at beer pong. Apparently Bateman used to work at Build-A-Bear Workshop. When hes building the tower he asks What am I doing with my life? He messes up the tower and has to keep at it. Time passes and they let him finish. The time isnt shown and does it matter anyway?
Brodus says set it up right because youre not playing any okeydoke on him. No clue what that means but ok. Brodus outsmarts beer pong by throwing like 10 balls at once. He aces the tower build to a big pop. However he sucks at flipping cups and of course Curtis wins. If you care for some reason his time was 1:46.1. Curtis has 3 points and I really hope this isnt what I think its going to be.
Theres a triple threat match later.
The Mania video helps a bit as were 40 days away.
And theres the Chaperone trailer to further kill my spirit.
Brodus Clay vs. Johnny Curtis vs. Derrick Bateman
Clays stomach says WHEE now. The other two try to jump him which gets Bateman thrown over the top and Curtis pounded down for his effort. Nice suplex puts Curtis down. Brodus looks rather uncomfortable with basic offense. Tongan Death Grip goes on but Bateman pops up with a dropkick to take him down. The final challenge is also worth three points and Curtis could get immunity. Well of course he can. Hes the least interesting so like AJ last Naomi last time he has to make the final right?
They double team Curtis again with chops and kicks. Again, this completely fails. Todd says that Brodus is ready for prime time, more or less admitting that the rest of this is pointless. The two non-Broduses clothesline Clay to the floor and Bateman is tossed out. Curtis is alone in the ring (drawing dead silence) and dives out with a tope con hilo, landing on his feet. If he had hit more than their hands it would have looked better but at least he tried. This takes us to a break.
Back with the two smaller guys hammering on each other. Bateman breaks Curtis momentum and hits a running dropkick on Clay. Clay wakes up and hammers down both guys. With Curtis choking him in the corner the camera tilts up at Brodus face and its a frightening sight indeed. Clay gets a Fishermans Suplex on Curtis as we really need to end this now. Theyve been out there over ten minutes and its clear theyre running out of things to do.
Brodus covers Bateman and Curtis hits the guillotine legdrop to the back of Clay for two. Cover to Bateman gets two as well. Clay sets for his T-Bone to Curtis but gets double teamed for about the third time. A double suplex to Clay actually works and then Curtis suplexes Bateman onto Clay and gets the pin on Bateman at 11:00. Damn it hes going to win isnt he?
We replay Cenas promo on Rock last night to kill off about ten minutes. During this we see Rocks promo from the week before. So were seeing a flashback to a flashback? Theres a zen riddle in there somewhere. The Tooth Fairy line still cracks me up. I love how there has to be a graphic on the screen telling us this was on Raw last night so we dont think Cena showed up on NXT. It says a lot about Cena that he has the crowd in the palm of his hand after coming out to a very mixed reaction. The line about Rock saying he loves them and Cena being there every week to show it sums up this entire feud.
Talk the Talk is next.
Curtis starts us off and thanks the fans for the pleasure of being here. Could the flat out say Vote for Curtis or well murder every puppy in the world any better? Bateman says hes the Sacramento King of the competition. Thats booed for some reason. He says he has, eats, sleeps and breathes it. Clay, getting a big pop, gives shoutouts to his friends and family. You cant see the mic cube in his hand. He says the west coast is awesome and all that stuff. Curtis is booed, Bateman is booed and Clay wins (thank goodness!), making him immune. This was really short.
Bateman is gone. Damn it. Is anyone really surprised by this? He says

Episode Title: Hot At Teacher
The main story tonight is that Dixie Carter has promised a major announcement that will change the wrestling world at the end of the show. Given that TNA makes about one of these a month, Im not exactly on the edge of my seat but one time they said this and it was Kurt Angle so theres always a chance. Other than that this is the last show before we get to the March 3rd show which wont be in Orlando. Lets get to it.
We open with a recap of last weeks main event with Hardy beating RVD in a ratings grab which drew one of the lower ratings of the year. Maybe if you had advertised the world title match for longer than an hour and a half that would work. We also recap Flair turning heel (was he ever face?) and its AJ vs. Flair tonight.
Anderson comes into the ring with a chair and sits down in the middle of the ring. He doesnt care whos calling the shots here because right now hes in charge. Hes sitting there in that spot until he gets his rematch because his contract says he gets one. Anderson isnt sure why the network doesnt like him but it might be because hes an asshole. He says RVD isnt exactly a law abiding citizen, and heres Van Dam with a rebuttal.
RVD wants to know about the laws of morality, which is about not feeding your friends to the sharks to get ahead. Basically Van Dam is mad because he thinks Anderson has plans which RVD is standing in the way of. This is about the low blow that Hardy got in on Van Dam that Anderson missed. Van Dam says hes better whether Anderson likes it or not.
Anderson says that all that matters is getting his rematch, but before they both do something they regret, and then thats all he manages to say as Van Dam drills him. They brawl for a bit until security comes out for the save. Cue Bischoff and Immortal minus Jeff Hardy with Eric saying he thinks he has a main event, which is a shame as Anderson was going to get a rematch until he saw this. Jeff Jarrett whispers into Erics ear and Eric says good idea. They add Angle in because we need a triple threat I guess.
Scott Steiner vs. Rob Terry in a posedown later.
Steiner says hes been doing six ounce curls with James Storm Beer. Eric Young pops up behind him doing poses and Steiner throws him out. Young has darker hair now it seems.
The Jarretts look at wedding dresses. This doesnt go well as Karen doesnt like anything and gets annoyed but reminds herself shes still a princess so everything is ok.
Kurt says he cant give her away fast enough next week and there will be a wedding well never forget. Also hes sorry to Anderson/RVD but hes not in a ood move.
Gunner/Murphy vs. Orlando Jordan/Eric Young
Beer Money is on commentary here. Yep its a comedy match as Young starts with I think thats Gunner and we get a LONG crisscross, as in like a minute long. Gunner and Murphy finally take over and hammer away on Young for a bit and we hit the chinlock. Off to Murphy and Youngs blue shorts are ripped off to reveal regular tights that I think have a Mapleleaf on them. Gunner and Murphy hit a combination side slam/top rope elbow for the pin on Young at 3:27. I dont think Jordan was ever in the match. Gunner/Murphy vs. Beer Money next week.
Angelina tries to talk Velvet out of putting her career on the line and is brushed off for the most part.
After a break heres D-Von to apologize to his sons for letting Bully Ray (he calls him Bubba here) hurt them, putting them through a table and kicking them in the face. D-Von looks very emotional here and says he should have been there to protect them. He says this will not go unanswered but is interrupted by Ray on the monitor.
In the back hes got someone down in front of him who we cant see but he keeps hitting. Raw asks how D-Vons kids are and then says that so D-Von will never forget what Ray did to his kids. Apparently thats D-Vons brother and hes going to put him through a table. D-Von just stands there and apparently doesnt care. Did his brother stiff him on the bill at Olive Garden or something? Tommy Dreamer pops up to make the save and takes Ray into the Impact Zone but security breaks it up. D-Von accidently hits Tommy.
Madison says she doesnt need Taras help in the open challenge tonight.
AJ says hes not taking a backseat to anyone anymore.
Crimson vs. Magnus
This is Crimsons singles debut. Magnus says that Crimson and he are a lot alike. Theyre both muscular and ambitious etc but Magnus is more of all of them. Also hes not carrying Angles bags. After he says this, pain begins happening to him. Crimson drills him for awhile until Magnus gets a Stunner on the top rope. He sets for some kind of driver but Magnus counters into a spinning Rock Bottom into a Downward Spiral for the pin at 1:20. Not even a squash because Magnus might have been on offense longer. The move is called Red Alert apparently.
RVD says there are a lot of goals hes going to try to reach tonight but hes not sure why Eric made this match.
Time for the posedown. Terry is in shorts and barefoot. He says hes the genetic freak so lets do it. Hes already one step up on the other Welshman in wrestling in Mason Ryan. You can understand Terry. Steiner comes out in a suit. He says hes the real genetic freak and has been since Terry was sucking on his moms *censored*. Terry should be called Chernobyl because hes a few vitamins away from a chemical explosion.
Steiner says that hes going to go put his gear on rather than coming out here in speedos like a Chippendale. Terry says thats just like an American as hes running when someone bigger and stronger and faster is challenging them. Steiner turns to take the suit jacket off and Terry hits him with the dumbbell he brought with him. Steiner gets choked out by the bands that Terry had also.
Velvet comes into her locker room and Winter is there. Winter says that people are doubting Velvets abilities in her match with Sarita next week but Winter isnt one of them. Velvet says when shes done with Saritas ass shes coming for Winters. Velvet leaves and Winter smiles evily.
Flair is coming to the ring despite his match being later.
The Jarretts talk to a minister and Karen keeps interrupting everyone. Its about Kurt apparently. The minister hears what theyre planning and says Oh Lord, calling it blasphemy. A minister just summed up this storyline in a nutshell.
Heres Flair who says its hard to be humble when youre the Nature Boy and therefore God. He says he might give girl at ringside a shot at Space Mountain. The fans cheer for him and he says he knows who he is already. Flair says AJ has one more chance to apologize on his hands and knees before God. Beer Money and Kaz will get their chances later.
Heres AJ and Flair tells So Cal Val to open the ropes for AJ but AJ stops her. Flairs smile is almost creepy here. AJ starts to talk but Flair says the fans arent needed here because we have a man talking to a God. AJ isnt going to beat up Flair tonight because if Flair gets to AJ then Flair wins. Flair says that Fourtune wasnt supposed to do anything without Flair. He even offered James Storm 100 beers last night but Storm wouldnt do it.
AJ says that if Flair had known what was coming then Flair would have tried to stop them. Flair says he was trying to show Fourtune how to be great but tonight hes going to teach them respect. Flair slaps the hell out of AJ and the fight is on. Hernandez runs out for the save but is thrown over the top and out to the floor by AJ. Styles goes after Flair again but Hernandez comes back.
Taz and Tenay arent sure if Hernandez is officially with Immortal or not. What part of Do you want to be in Immortal? Yes Do they not get? AJ beats up both guys and Flair is, say it with me, BUSTED OPEN. AJ beats them down again but Hernandez makes a third save and finally takes AJ down. Ok scratch that as AJ hits a plancha to take Hernandez down for the third time.
And since its a Flair segment Flairs clothes are ripped off. Styles Clash is attempted but its one pose too many as Hernandez comes in for a fourth time and FINALLY they get AJ down. Fourtune finally runs down for the save. Morgan pops up and drills Hernandez. Fourtune stands tall and Morgan leaves Hernandez laying in the crowd/back.
Anderson says hell do what hes always done and get by the odds. Hes in this for the world title and its tunnel vision for him.
Hogan is coming back next week. As opposed to when he was supposed to come back on 2/3. This comes with a recap video of the THEY storyline. The Final Verdict in the court case is next week.
Madison Rayne vs. ???
This is a non-title open challenge. Madison talks about all the Knockouts shes knocked out and how shes getting bored. The first challenger is the returning ODB now with black hair. ODB hits a Thesz Press and a slam to take Madison down very quickly. Bronco Buster misses so ODB rubs her crotch a bit.
Madison does that humping the mat thing where the other girls head is rammed into the mat. She tries to do it again and ODB fights her off and runs her over a few times. Fallaway Slam sets up a nip up and then the Bronco Buster. She sets Madison into a Firemans Carry but Madison escapes and gets a combination swinging neckbreaker/knee to the back of the head of ODB to end it at 3:50.
Velvet goes to talk to Sarita and Sarita says itll be one on one and a fair match with the career on the line. Velvet leaves and Sarita/Rosita crack up laughing.
Main event is next.
Morgan says that was comeuppance for Hernandez because Hernandez cost Morgan the title. Apparently theyre fighting next week.
Jeff Jarrett gets a fitting for his tuxedo and apparently Kurt is going to need one also. Karen still wont shut up. Jeff says hes tired of this princess stuff. Karen says thats good because now shes a queen. Jarrett gets his suit and thats about it.
We recap J-Woww showing up to yell at Cookie. J-Woww said she might be back. Cookie and Robbie says theyre going to have one of the other Jersey Shore girls call out J-Woww. Sadly enough this is probably going to get a better rating than anything else theyve done in awhile which means well see more of it.
Rob Van Dam vs. Mr. Anderson vs. Kurt Angle
This is for the #1 contender spot apparently. We take a break before the opening bell. Here we are and Anderson is double teamed to start. Double suplex puts Anderson down which Van Dam was almost on his feet still while Angle was on his back. Angle is sent to the floor and RVD hits a monkey flip on Anderson. Angle back in now and the beating continues. Rolling Thunder is attempted on both but only hits Kurt.
This turns into a regular triple threat with everyone fighting everyone until RVD takes out both guys on the floor and we take a break. Back with Anderson on the floor and Van Dam taking Angle down with a spinkick. A monkey flip is blocked but RVD gets the standing moonsault for two. Angle is sent to the floor and Anderson is back in. RVD takes him down with a middle rope kick but Angle is back in now.
Clotheslines for everyone as Angle is dominant. Suplexes for both guys and Anderson gets Rolling Germans. Angle Slam to Anderson but RVD kicks Angle in the face. Five Star is blocked by the running belly to belly. Mic Check is blocked and Angle hits a T-Bone and sets for the ankle lock but Here Comes the Bride plays and here are the Jarretts. They kiss in the aisle and the distraction lets Anderson Mic Check Angle for the pin at approximately 10:00 shown of 13:12.
We run down the card for next week:
The Jersey Shore stuff
Bart Scott of the New York Jets
Velvet vs. Sarita
Morgan vs. Hernandez
Gunner/Murphy vs. Beer Money
The Wedding Vows
Dixie and Hogans Final Verdict
Taz says theres some new footage so were going to go to it. Theres a guy walking in the rain and up some stairs. It says 3-3-11 and my eyes roll. Actually scratch that. There's something nice about them just saying screw it we're not hiding it anymore.
