WCW Video Game

In my opinion a WCW video game would be so awesome! I think they should try and get the trade mark of all of the characters from WCW cerca 1997 and make a video game for it! Granted it would be hard to do. I really think a video game for WCW would sell a lot of copies and it would be great nostalgia!

What do you think?

nWo vs. WCW or something like that was a game and I played the shit out of it for N64. A new one would be cool, definitely. But it has in fact been done before.

A WCW game would be cool. 'Revenge' was their best one! oh the good old N64 wrestling games. nothing is as good as WWF No Mercy.

While a WCW game sounds fun. It wouldn't sell. You are already cutting the market by only being able to sell to wrestling fans who play video games. Then it is cut again by people who still remember WCW and the wrestlers that made the company what it was. I think the best to hope for would have been if they include a number of WCW legends in one of the up coming SvR games.

The Smackdown vs Raw games have incredible "create a wrestler" features. The tools to make nearly any WCW personality are readily available in those games.

I remember the N64 wrestling games too. They really were awesome. My friends used to have epic 20+ minute matches, because we refused to go for the pin fall until we hit our guy's finisher. When you're good, and your opponent is good, it can take quite some time to pull off a finisher...

Selling a game for the sake of nostalgia doesn't always work (see: Legends of Wrestlemania)

This game wouldn't sell. WWE All-Stars isn't go to sell, but I guarantee it'll sell more than a WCW game. Trust me, I work at GameStop in a very hick town. We have lots of wrestling fans. I even asked a couple of them what they thought of a WCW game about 3 months ago, and nobody was really balls deep for it.

Let's not let WWE destroy any more fond memories of WCW. They did that with ECW. Just let things stay the same.

I think the All Stars game is gonna be pretty sweet.. at least i hope.. I think people are just afraid of change, if it doesn't smell like, taste like or feel like a Smackdown vs Raw game.. then it must suck.. personally, i'm pretty sick of just Smackdown games, I love it when something new comes.. even though Legends of WM wasn't that good, it should have been great though..

and yeah, if you wanna play a WCW game, just pull out the old N64 and pop in Revenge.. good times.. i remember the hours after hours playing that game with friends :)

At some point, a WCW/WWE/ECW game (if they can buy the rights to use many of the top characters from that era) would be great and would sell well. They can do it similar to the All-Stars game and add in wrestlers from this era, giving the younger fans something as well.

A WCW only game will not happen though. I would much rather a game to mix all the brands of the 1990's together rather than that.

I'm guessing you was born just before 1997 or didn't own a game system that year. from 1997-2001 WCW released about 6 games, WCW Mayhem(99),WCW Nitro(97 & 99), WCW vs NWO vs Thunder (99), WCW Backstage Assault (2001) WCW vs The World(99) , WCW/NWO Revenge (99). Now if your asking for a New WCW classic video game made I don't see VKM doing it.

Whip out the N64, find a copy of WCW/NWO Revenge, play the shit out of it, enjoy it, and then go get the game that took the same game engine, and perfected it...WWF No Mercy, the single greatest wrestling game of all time. If You have those two games, you will be all set. Any WCW star of the mid to late 90s is going to be in one of those two games.

I have seen some of you say that i have been born post attitude or just before wcw 1997. Well in fact i was born in 85 so i know what those games were. I am not saying the Revenge game wasn't awesome, I have the game 20 feet from me at this moment. I loved those games. I am saying for the sake of nostalgia and all of that stuff it would be pretty cool to see a game from that era. That is the stuff i grew up with, I remember everything that happened in WCW from that era, i never missed a show. I just wanted to point out the idea that it would be cool for nostalgia sake. Imagine getting to play as Sting coming down from the rafters to take out 7 NWO guys! That would be awesome! Or imagine playing the Goldberg vs. Hogan match from Nitro! Wow that would be so epic.

How about a total old school game then? Why limit it to WCW? The WWE owns an incredible library of video and intellectual property rights. They could have one game that incorporates WCW, ECW (the real one) WWF, World Class, the AWA, Stampede, the WWWF, the Mid-Atlantic, and a lot of others.

Why waste time recreating Sting vs the nWo, when you could have Sting versus the Freebirds, Hulk Hogan versus Bruno Sammartino, Goldberg going against Andre the Giant, or the nWo versus the Von Erichs? If you are going for nostalgia, might as well go all in...

I loved the old WCW games for the N64. Especially WCW vs nWo: World Tour, my buddies & my dad would play. My dad would rock people with Joe Bruiser (the boxer) with KOs. I would love to see more WCW people in games. Especially if they played like those old games.

But just a WCW brand game for the sake of it? I don't think it'd work let alone without Flair, Sting & Hogan.

I do not see the point of making a WCW game. It wouldnt get any more people interested than the current WWE games do. You can download nearly anyone who wrestled in WCW from the online community creations application now, and those are often incredibly detailed.

The game would need to be something special to create any kind of buzz and I cannot see it being any better than the awesome SDvRaw games we have today, and many of todays young wrestling fans wouldn't even be familiar with much of WCW's 1997 talent roster anyway.

I used to have WCW Mayhem for the PS1, that was pretty good but nothing compared to the games we have these days. I think the best thing you could hope for would be WCW legends to be included on next years SDvsRaw game, which would be good or perhaps THQ could produce a WCW add on pack, using the same game engine and featuring WCW wrestlers and arenas, with a storyline mode (Road To Starrcade maybe?) based around the WCW talent.

I would love to play a storyline related to the nWo invading WCW, that would be Tooooo Sweet!

If they did make one they would have to go balls out all the way and make it with all the top wrestlers from ECW WCW/NWA and WWE from like 1985 on to really make it worthwhile. I don't see it ever happening but thats ok I bought a 64 again just to play Revenge, NWO vs WCW, and Wrestlemania 2000, lot of sleepless nights there.
