WCW PPV's

Occasional Pre-Show
Hello,

I have been reading KB's reviews, which are GRRREEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAT!!!
I enjoy the WCW PPV's and the old WWE ones from the early 90's.

I just finished reading the reviews for Starrcade 97 and 98. I do remember reading the results of these back when i was at uni on the Mon after the PPV.
As there was no way to watch the PPV in the UK. I use to watch Nitro which they aired on Fridays.

My question is quite simple it is in regards to WCW PPV's from the time the NWO was formed until the end. I notice that during a lot of PPV's the cards are quite weak. When i say weak i mean not all the major stars are on there.
For example with a WWE card unless a star is injured you will find all the big names at the PPV especially back in the day. This includes Austin, Rock, UT, HHH, Angle, Benoit, Jericho etc. But with WCW it was like they put out 2-4 stars and the rest were on holiday or something. Why was this?

Oh one other point i wanna touch on. After reading the Starrcade 97 review it got me thinking about opinions of the major players in WCW at the time.
Did Hogan or Bischoff ever talk about how screwed up the main event was? Didn't they admit to getting it wrong?

Thanks

In Chris Jericho's book he talked about his program with Goldberg and how he wanted to fight at a PPV with him and not just blow it off on Nitro and Goldberg had a bitch-fit because he had the PPV off. Other than this instance I have limited knowledge as to why a lot of main eventers weren't at PPV's, but it seems like they just rotated so guys could take those days off

And to answer your other question, no Bischoff and Hogan have never admitted to getting anything wrong, they're too high on the smell of their own farts. If you disagree with anything they do or have ever done then that makes you a stupid mark who thinks the way they do because Wade Keller says it. I've personally never read anything of Kellers but Bischoff has accused me of it on his facebook page.

Why would they talk about how screwed up the main event scene was? Hogan and his pals were in the main event so therefore there was nothing screwed up at all. Its when you've got guys like Steiner vs. Sid when they'd say, wait a minute we f****d up where is Hogan or Nash.

And yes I do believe WCW/Bischoff gave time off to anybody and everybody that wasnt Ric Flair

i wholeheartedly agree that bischoff or hogan would admit that they messed anything up or what screw ups they were and are and as far as the stars missing it always seemed in WCW that most big guys worked only if they wanted to while guys like jericho, benoit, guerrero, flair, mysterio, anderson, etc. tried to make it entertaining as possible till bischoff would squash ideas and push hogan and nash more. the whole WCW thing under bischoff just seemed like a big screw up.
