WCW Entrance Music themes

President Evil

Pre-Show Stalwart
For those who remember WCW's glory days (and there's still alot of us)

One of the many memorable things of WCW was its music, from the Monday Nitro music, to nWo's entrance music (there was around the 3 versions of this song alone) to Crow Sting's entrance music, Self High Five DDP, it really set the tone for what was about to come.

WCW (or for that matter now WWE) never released a cd containing these entrance songs, once WCW put this cd called Mayhem and it was horrible, with announcers and wrestlers talking while the song was playing, pretty bad.

The reason for me to create this thread is to ask if anyone out there know if there's a site where I can listen to and perhaps download these cool WCW entrance songs in its entirety. Ive tried several times online but no luck.

Just go on YouTube man, there are pretty much all the old WCW music on there. Sometimes the user provides a link for download, but if not just use a YouTube MP3 Converter, and convert the file to an MP3 and save it that way.

Thats what I have done for quite a few of them

Damn you, thats what i was going to say. Youtube is the best option i've found to listen to classic tunes from WCW and ECW even from the old WWF. If not youtube, maybe there is a program to download music you can use like napster.

Maybe one of the reasons WCW never released an entrance theme record commercially was that you have to remember, a lot of the WCW entrance themes were either "sound-a-like's" of famous songs...

Raven: Come As You Are/Oooh that Smell
DDP: Smells Like Teen Spirit
Jericho: Evenflow

to name just a few. Aside that, other themes were hired out from production companies, like Chris Benoit's famous WCW porno theme and the Cactus Jack theme we all know and love today (which WWE actually brought the rights to).

So yeah, releasing a WCW theme music CD would have probably faced legal and liscencing troubles and and sales area troubles.

It's a shame though, some of them were great... Disco Inferno anyone? :lmao:

My favourite wrestling theme was the Armstrong Brother's theme. Does anyone know the name of that track and who recorded it?
