Monsters collecting children's screams to power their world. Clever concept. Monsters University, a prequel to the original, is set to release in the Summer of 2014.

And now...for the movie. Feel free not to care.

The animation quality of Sully is incredible. Otherwise, not a whole lot going on that wasn't present in Toy Story 2. Still, it's Pixar Animation, so "not a whole lot going on" is still head-and-shoulders than anything else being put out by Dreamworks or others at this point (2001).

Pixar really is awesome. Monster's Inc however was just not one that I was able to get into. No idea why.

Ok, I take back what I said about the visuals not progressing. It's subtle, but there is some definite evolution in Pixar Animation's quality between Toy Story 2 and Monsters, Inc, but you can only tell when they focus on certain textures. The monsters with lots of hair like Sully look really cool, and are still impressive by 2012's standards, over a decade later.

Don't care what anyone thinks, This was an awesome movie when it came out. my brother was addicted to it, so I was stuck watching it three times a day for a whole year, it's one of the few movies I could sit down and watch again after already seeing it.

Movie almost made me a shed a tear from my eye.
Same here. I haven't seen it in a few years, but it's one of Pixar's more creative movies. Now I'm thinking about how great Pixar is. They've done how many awesome movies now? I don't know of a bad or even average one they've done either.

Cars was pretty so-so. Animation was great, but for a Pixar film it just seemed to be missing something extra.

As for Monsters Inc, I said this in KB's Toy Story 2 thread, but the final shot in the film is my favourite ending of any Pixar. Steve Buscemi voicing the slithery villain was also a good touch.

When Coco's mod, he should merge this thread with KB's one and title it ''People watching shit''.

In other more thread related news, I was picked to be in the Monsters, Inc show at Disney World when I was like 8. Best. Day. EVER. Since then, it's always held a plae in my rather vacant, cold heart.
