Watching Heroes of Wrestling

The Shark Should've Worked in WCW
For a review coming up in an hour.

KB, how the fuck did you put up with this? This was atrocious. Perhaps the worst wrestling event in history

.... I just watched an announcer imply Sherri and George Steele were sexually active. How do you think I feel?

It's up now, boys

Remember: I watched it months ago. I know your pain. The things that made me feel worst about it were Jim Neidhart and the fact this could have been decent. Neidhart came there and accepted money to have a throwaway match with Jake Roberts. He did absolutely nothing wrong and just tried to make a paycheck off his own name and talents which there isn't a thing wrong with. And then he gets Jake Roberts. The other thing is that it wasn't a bad idea: a show based entirely on nostalgia and having old guys get one more shot at glory. Hell it could work. It gets about a 1.0 on Thursday nights. If this was better booked and had some guys baout ten years younger, this works FAR better. It would still be bad, but it's somewhat better.

... It depends, it really does. If you're getting guys who have been release like a year or two ago, or some names who have been on television, it could work. Having Jimmy Snuka and Bob Orton fourteen years later is not going to drag an audience in. Period. And if it does, they're going to run away like the plague from it.

I'd employ a maximum of five years away from a major company.

This show needed guys like Tatanka. He had been around just a few years before this and was still in shape at this time. He was also a known name etc and could like do a decent (all things considered) match. He would have been invaluable, as well as other guys like him.

But see, even he was in the WWE three years before that.

Or how about Ludvig Borga? I'm sure he's in shape. Hell, even some old ECW guys. Someone who's been around, and actually worked matches. Hell, even Terry fucking Funk would work

Excellent review, Tenta.

I skimmed it when you first posted it but I will try and read the full thing tomorrow.

Ah. Didn't know he reached the Finnish parliament?

Point being, you're right. Now only would it do ok, it would probably beat TNA. Sad, yet true
