No.So Brock Lesnar helped the UFC get 600,000 domestic buys for his first UFC fight. So do you think Vince McMahon is shitting himself right now realizing he let his biggest draw walk.
The fact that card drew so poorly is entirely reflective on how poor of a draw the two main-eventers were. I mean, if that strong of an undercard can't put that main-event into a great buyrate, then clearly the main-eventers don't draw. And, they neither Lesnar or Angle were really that big of a draw.See, can you really blame WM19 on Brock though? With a card with undercard matches featuring Hogan vs. McMahon, Austin vs. Rock, and Jericho vs. Michaels, that should have sold the card as well. I think it's unfair to put that on Brock.
Lesnar's DEBUT drew nearly 300,000 additional buys, not Lesnar himself. My bet is that a LARGE number of those buys are crossover wrestling fans, who wanted to see if a wrestler could make it in MMA. If Lesnar is still drawing that in his fifth fight, then maybe there would be something to it.UFC is saying, (if the report is true) he's responsible for nearly 300,000 buys.
Sure you can. Main-eventers sell the show, always have, always will. That really seems very strange to me that WM 19 sold so poorly. That card, and WM, was amazing. I dont really think you can put it on Brock, as he was very hot back in those days.

Not really. And I already explained why. Finally, neither Angle nor Lesnar ever drew well in the WWE.That's incredibly presumptuous.

True, but WM 19 was the first mania of the Brand Split where there was no clear cut what would be the Main Event. So some of the blame could be put on Booker T and Triple H as well. Or you could spin it the other way and say, damn that Rookie Brock Lesnar managed to get 500,000 plus buys in his first Mania main event. You can spin it a lot of ways.
That's the main thing with wrestling the last few years and the shows with multiple championship matches on it. You can't blame the main eventers because you don't know who is going to be in the main event. WM 19 was billed as four main events. Each show had two main events. When there isn't that one clear cut thing, it distracts from the show.
Last year WM 23 had a huge buyrate, but how do you know it wasn't for people thinking that Taker/Batista was going to be the main event.
