Vince McMahon returning as a heel?

Vince really came across as kind of an asshole on this last RAW. At first, it was fine. He was harsh, disappointed, etc...but that Thanksgiving line was brutal and even the audience seemed stunned.

Stephanie's reactions presented her as the abused child who is arguably the product of bad parenting. Now yes...in the past Vince has definitely shown to be an awful parent in storylines, but WWE rarely continues with continuity. If Vince is "the good guy", he is going to act like one. So for Vince to be so cruel, it makes me wonder if he shall return as the villain.

It actually would make that scene a good set-up for the next angle. Vince humbled Triple H and reduced Steph into a sobbing wreck using words that would only belong to a heel...Now that is the kind of monster one should fear. On the other hand, I don't really want another anti-authority angle this quickly. Maybe Vince should just remain in the background for now.

What do you guys think? Should Vince return as the villain? Or should there be another authority at all?

I can see where you're coming from but it could just be that he reacted that way because he expected they'd beat the odds and they'd let him down.

Vince is a different character to HHH and Stephanie for sure but if he returns to TV as a heel, as you said it'd just turn into another anti-authority angle.

If there is going to be another villain/authority angle (aside from the anonymous GM) it shouldn't be this soon.

Vince has said in many interviews hes not his mr.McMahon character and not an angry person and this that and the other. But I always think of the stories of him cheating on his wife, doing drugs. Hes a heel for sure. Life imitates art

Vince should stay backstage. There's no need for a new authority figure at all. There's plenty of talent that can take advantage of the extra air time for longer matches and promos.

Nah. They just finished an "evil authority" storyline (at least for now). Why start another one and yet again rehash where they've already been? That was a way to write Trip and Steph off for a while to have them scolded by Vince for losing at SS. I don't think Vince is involved, but I'm curious to see where this goes with the Anonymous Raw GM returning (wasn't that revealed to be Hornswoggle?)

I don't think Vince has a worthy adversary in WWE right now. Mr. McMahon was possibly the greatest heel of all time, mainly because he had SCSA to rebel against him. I doubt there will be anyone who could fill Austin's shoes, so I don't think Vince will be back in command of Raw.

Maybe at this point it doesn't matter since it's been played out...or perhaps I am forgetting something. But didn't Vince get his power stripped from him a while ago? Back when HHH gave his ridiculous, tear-filled "I love you, pop" scene? I thought after that, Vince was still on the board of directors but no longer had the power to enforce his whims anymore with respect to operations.

So he really should not have had the power to remove HHH and stephanie at all, especially based on the outcome of a random match.

I don't think Vince has ever really changed his character, it just seems to be the times that dictate his reaction. He has always been rather rash & arrogant & he has always said some controversial things from time to time. But now he is revered as a bonafide legend & can basically get away with doing/saying whatever he wants while still being cheered. Last year at TLC 2013 he came out with The Authority & helped crowned Orton as the Unified Champion, he was still cheered.
