It's Damn Real!

The undisputed, undefeated TNA &
TNA X Division Championship
Brian Kendrick v. Douglas Williams (c)

Officially announced on iMPACT! tonight.

The match will see the return of TNA's infamous Ultimate X, however submissions will also be legal.

Should be a fantastic match...

Your thoughts on the match? Predictions for the winner/loser?

As ridiculous as the concept of submissions counting in a Ladder Match expy,I can see why that stipulation has been added, due to Williams anti-high flying gimmick. I don't think this match is going to blow, but I'm not putting my eggs in the basket of this being good either.

I'm not to fond of them changing the stipulations to one of their premier matches but I am really looking forward to this match. If its given enough time I think it can be classic! High flying spots and great technical wrestling. 5 Star match, TNA dont drop the ball on this one!!!

I have to go with Doug Williams in this one. I bet they figure out a way to sget a submission on each other while hanging from the x rope.

This is one of the first TNA matches I actually really want to see, I tunned in to Impact right as Kendrick was cutting his promo and he hooked me. I doubt if I'll order the PPV but that promo really drew me in for next week. The stip change in the match was a nice touch and it makes me think Kendrick could pull this out with a submission in their match. It was a very nice looking Cobra Clutch btw. So my prediction is Kendrick by submission.

When he was known as "THE" Brian Kendrick in the WWE, during his last run. I was stupid enough to want to see him as the underdog winner in the Heavyweight Scramble match. Yeah.

Now, I'm furious that Douglas Williams is being screwed in this style of gimmick match, which if you go by storyline standards is putting his back against the wall in every sense of the way. He isn't a High flier, so they're likely gonna have him not knowing how to scale across the wire. He'll also try for the title at the worst times, allowing Kendrick to constantly (and yet oh, so, easily) stop him.

Why am I furious over this? Because in TNA, Kendrick isn't even someone I'd classify as a Top 10 X-Division Wrestler. He ranks somewhere above Jesse Neal, and about 3 spots below Shannon Moore. (Sharkboy would've been a better choice at this point)

To make matters worse, Kendrick's current gimmick (if you can call it that) is that of a "nostradamus"-like future teller. :wtf: So I'm suppose to believe this mind-fuck has already seen himself winning the title, and yet he lost at the last Pay per view? So, uh, why didn't he just see the loss coming and avoid it? Stupid.

If Kendrick wins the Championship, it'll be the worst reign in the X-Division since Kurt Angle during the time when he won every title, just so they'd have a reason to make him wrestle 3 times in one night. I can only hope Douglas Williams pulls a rabbit out of the hat in this one and finds a way to retain.

The match I'm most excited to see out of a card that has BMI taking on the Guns for the tag titles and a fourway match that has RVD and Anderson in it.

With the added submission stipulation adding more depth to the usual UltX match and both of these competitors being great in-ring performers I expect this match to steal the show.

As for the outcome, with the way BK has been submitting Williams after he used a spot monkey DDT, I have no clue who is going to win here, but I know I'll be happy no matter the result.

I have no concerns about Williams in this match. I have seen him win the Ultimate X match in London and he was superb that night. But he is right about one thing. Kendrick is absolutely not the right opponent for this.

He needed someone who would bump for him while Williams scales the ropes. I'd go as so far to say that Kendrick, who doesnt work a high paced typically X Division style is the worst opponent while Williams is in the middle of this anti-X Division gimmick.

The submission thing is a joke too.

Interesting concept, I'd say. I think it's clear that either Kendrick will win by Submission or Williams will win via the Ultimate X, cause that's be tricky, ya know? Lot of psychology in this one though, no doubt. Wrestling purists or whatever will be wanking off to it.

Nice to see Kendrick getting an oppurtunity with an extended feud here rather than simply randomly appearing in multi man matches ever other month. He's better than say, Jesse Neal. His current character is at least a little intriguing as well. A crazy guy with long hair, sign me up.

This should be an above average match, possibly great if given some time, and I think Dougy is going to retain here. Like I said, Kendrick is better than Jesse Neal, but does that mean he should be a singles champion? Not sure. Williams has been solid as hell with the belt and has brought some interest to the division. Let him hold it for a little longer and have someone proper take it off him. Like, uhh, Alex Shelley.

I am so looking forward to this match! The lead up and feud between these two has been fabulous! Kendrick has truly come into his own (finally) and is a character, now he’s new age, zen and very interesting. I can’t wait to see what he will say or do next. I didn’t know he’d be this great on mic. Williams is his total opposite and their feud works beautifully. Event though the X Division strap has been defended and fought for between these two for quite a bit, I hope it continues even after Victory Road. I think it will if Kendrick wins, as I predict he will, Williams will be so enraged with Kendrick beating him that he won’t be able to let it go and will continue the feud, something I think is just fabby. These two bantering back and forth, both on mic and in the ring, has been an interesting and exciting part of TNA that doesn’t involve any of the old guys or management. They’re carrying it beautifully and I hope they continue Predicted Winner – Brian Kendrick
