Verne Gagne has reportedly died

It hasn't broken on WWE.com yet. Terrible if true as he's a true legend of the industry. He had a great life and career.

Verne's contributions to professional wrestling are endless, both as a promoter and a talent. A quick glance at some of the names who Verne played a major role in training is added insurance to just how valuable he was, and how much he'll be missed.

RIP Verne Gagne.

I haven't watched a ton of 70s wrestling but from what I've watched he was the best wrestler in the 70s. Great dropkicks, everytime he executed a hold it looked great, everything he did looked legit..

it was sad to me that throughout the entire Spectacular legacy documentary he was doing the kayfabe thing and never letting his guard down.

edit: Meltzer has said that for a period of time, Gagne was the best babyface of all time...

As a Minnesota native and wrestling fan, I am saddened by his loss. He has left quite a legacy not only here, but around the world. He will be missed. It was really nice hearing the local ESPN station discuss him at length, including interviews with Mean Gene and Greg Gagne.
