Urban Meyer: Let the speculation begin..

Now that Urban Meyer has/will step down at Florida after their January bowl game, who is in position to take his job? At the moment it is a rich job and you have to be a pretty big name coach to garner attention. I can name a few coaches who might go to Florida, like Bob Stoops, Mike Leach, Mike Shanahan, Gary Patterson or even Jim Harbaugh...

Ultimately I think the Job comes down to Stoops, Shanahan or Mike Leach, or a possible dark horse like Boise States coach Chris Petersen.

I know Florida wants Stoops but I believe that is a bad idea, I wouldn't mind seeing Leach or Petersen take over for Meyers because they're both very good coaches who have done extremely well at their respective program..

So who takes the job?

According to ESPN Urban Meyer changed his mind and instead of retiring he is going to just take an indefinite leave of absence. Their offensive coordinator Steve Adazzio is going to take over the coaching duties until Meyer is fit to return.

I'm assuming that Meyer will see how is health goes over the next year and if he can return by the end of next year or sooner then he will. Otherwise Florida will have to move on. At least this way Meyer has a chance to recover without losing his job.
