Upcoming Gigs/Music Festivals

Tell me what's on ur so called mind
Hey guys,

I never see a thread asking people what gigs they're thinking off attending or are actually going to, so i thought i'd start one now.

Why not take the chance to let everyone know of a recent gig or upcoming gig in your area and maybe even review that band afterward, so that people who've enver seen certain bands can work out if they're worth seeing, or maybe just weren't aware that they were touring.

I personally went to go and see Arch Enemy at the HMV Forum in London a couple of weeks ago as part of a Metal Hammer sponsored tour. They were supported by Malefice and Grand Magus.

I'd never heard either support band, but i can tell you now, that Malefice are definitely on my Christmas List now, and there's a few Grand Magus tracks i'm going to check out also.

AE themselves were musically spectacular as always. The set was a little surprising as they didn't play half the tunes from 'Rise of The Tyrant' as i thought they would, and played some really obscure early ones as well.

As for a stage show, there wasn't one really. A few chains hanging down from the ceiling and some blinding strobe lights that didn't really give a strobe affect at all, and that was about it, but if you were down the front like me, screaming your lungs out, that didn't really matter in all honesty.

Highlight of the set was 'Revolution Begins'.

In February of next year i'll be checking out Rob Zombie, playing in the UK for the first time in 12 years, supported by the mighty Skindred, and i'm considering seeing Children of Bodom, one of the very few bands i've never seen live before, in April of next year also.

Fear Factory are playing the Forum later this month but i probably won't bother with that.

So, anybody at WZ attend/attending any of those shows and if so, what did you think/what are you most looking forward to?

And generally guys, who've you seen and who are you going to see and where? I've got another post to make later, but i'll give you guys a chance to give your examples first.

I have been to quite a few gigs over the last couple of months

Northside
Motorhead
Alter Bridge
Feeder
Chicane

I also have tickets for Black Label Society at the Manchester Apollo for February which will be AWESOME!! I have waited for ages for a BLS tour and cannot wait for it to come round. I love the Apollo, its a great venue. A few friends of mine really dont like it and I cant see why. The shape of the venue gives you a great view no matter where you are stood at the acoustics are great.

Also, I am going seeing Take That at the City of Manchester Stadium next June. £55 A TICKET?!?! I have got my girlfriend a ticket as one of her christmas presents and I am going with her. It should be good. My brother took his girl to the last tour and said it was an incredible show, so I am expecting this to be pretty spectacular. I am not a major TT fan, of course they have done some brilliant pop songs, kind of a guilty pleasure of mine, but mostly I am looking forward to seeing Robbie Williams. He is a legend, and I have heard he will also be doing some solo songs as well as singing with That That on their older material.

I think singing along to "Angels" with 60'000 people will be a great experience, and with a few beers during the day, plus allegedly Cheryl Cole as support (SOOOO FIT!!!) it will be a good day out :)
