Unscripted: Titus Avison(c) vs. Vee A.D.Z. - EurAsian Championship

The inhabitants are walking down the streets; under gloomy sky and the muggy dark cloud that surrounds the city. The sky pours slightest of the drizzles down the roads. People are seeming to be in no rush to walk down the streets but the roads, are not the same. Cars, trucks and minivans can be seen rushing down the roads trying to cross the interjecting signals before it turns red. But a dark grey sedan drives past the road with no rush, to say precisely, it was driven patiently. Inside the car, driving is WZCW’s intellect, Vee A.D.Z. and he is being accompanied by his lovely girlfriend Sara. Apparently, she had returned from England for Vee’s Unscripted week. With one of his hands on the steering wheel and the other holding a phone to his ears, he drives the car through the traffic filled road. A wide smile adorned his face when he ends the phone call and drops the phone on Sara’s lap.

Vee: When my parents will be here, you say?

Sara picks up his phone and carefully locks it in her handbag before looking at him with her everlasting beautiful smile.

Sara: On the morning of Unscripted. Your dad has a guest lecture to deliver for the Automobile Engineering students at Oxford Brooke’s on that Friday. So they’ll board the flight on that evening and will be here for Unscripted.

Vee: Ah I see. Let them take their time. I hope they don’t miss the flight due to administrative problems or something. You know, things like that can happen… I just… I am so excited to meet them!

The excitement is personified by Vee’s gestures. Sara giggles whilst swaying her hair back. Their car enters a colossal metal gate of a campus. A huge name board hangs on top of the campus that reads, University of Chicago. Sara’s eyes widen as Vee drives their car past the security gate.

Sara: Why are we here? Is there any science exhibition that you want to attend? Or some boring lectures on theoretical physics?

Vee smirks at her before steering the car to a diversion. The direction board reads “Library” the pavement where Vee drives down the car.

Vee: Human library organization has a branch here in this university. And we’re going to meet a special guest! I was absolutely knackered before getting his appointment.

Sara looks a bit baffled and it is evident by her looks. Her face makes a cute ignorant expression when she gets confused, which Vee noted this time.

Vee: I mean we’re going in for Living Library. You know, there’ll be a person explains us things, facts, stories or documentaries instead of reading or watching videos. Living linguistic libraries, they are.

Sara: Oh… who are we going to meet today?

Vee stops the car in the car park near the library; gets out of the car and helps Sara opening the door. The road is a little wet by the drizzles; they both step outside.

Vee: He is a multi-talented, charismatic, fun-loving bloke. Television star I should say, very popular in England! He is entertaining and I bet we’re going to have a nice time.

Sara still looks perplexed as they both walk inside the library. Vee heads directly to the librarian, a 40+ year old lady welcomes him with a broad smile.

Vee: I’m Mr. Adzenhan, registered in the Human library organization and I have an appointment here today.

Librarian: Go to the cabin B, there you’ll be meeting the person you want. He’s been waiting for you for a few minutes now. Thank you.

Vee nods at her; then holds Sara’s hands and walk past the huge shelves full of books and silent people who were apparently drowned in those books. Sara kept looking around the different name boards of the book section as they walk past Cabin A to their destination, Cabin B. Vee swings the door open and enters a small room which has a table set with 4 chairs around it.

One chair is occupied by a 50-year-old man, with dark hair, bike handle mustache and a huge waistline. A huge animated smile is formed across that man’s face, seeing his clients.

???: Hello there, kids! Keith Moores here!

Vee and Sara occupies a chair each not before Vee bends forward to shake the hands of that gentleman.

Vee: Hello again, I’m Adzenhan and this is my girlfriend Sara.

The smile on Keith face looks perpetual, as if it was morphed on his face with some sort of plastic surgery.

Keith: Yeah! Nice to meet you both. What makes you both come here for? Please be quick, I don’t have much time left because I have another appointment in 45 minutes.

Vee: I don’t want to beat around the bush. I just am here to ask you something that you never shared with anyone, I’m afraid.

Keith: Oh, is it so? Shoot out the question!

Vee looks a little concerned for a moment; he bows his head down and rubs his ears before deciding to talk.

Vee: You were the ring man to the greatest Heavyweight Boxer in the British history, Bruce McGain, weren’t you? I know there were some management issue between you both. But that’s not what I’m concerned about.

He pauses for a moment to monitor the expression of his listener.

Vee: You were on his ringside, nursing his wounds, cheering him up on his first title win over Sean “The Steam-engine” Woakes, if I’m not wrong.

Keith lets out an animated laugh that makes his belly jiggle a bit.

Keith: It still is a very old news, that I had problems with Bruce. The news reporters used to ask me about the controversies surrounded around Bruce. But the greatest moment in his career is his win over The Steam-engine. Because, no chance in hell, anyone thought Bruce will even make it to the second round. You know the media lamented over that booking and called Bruce a Light Heavyweight in Heavyweight division, because he is a bit gaunt but so agile. What they don’t know is his remarkable strength.

He smiles to himself for a moment; recollecting the thoughts and enjoying those moments in his mind before looking at Vee, leans to the table.

Keith: Why are you so curious to know about that?

Vee: Bruce was an inspiration to me. And I watched that match plenty of time but never could sort out how he knocked down the champ in the 5th round!

Keith’s leans back in his chair and breathes in deeply; Sara looks curious at both of the gentlemen about the odd conversation.

Keith: He got a huge cut above his right eye in the very first round and couldn’t see any punches from Steam-engine. Lucky enough, Sean was not a southpaw. He could see almost nothing on his right-side, but you know what he did when he got to the corner after each round? He kept looking at the championship belt. The coach was giving his tons of instruction, some of them would’ve certainly fired back on him if he had listened. But it was the lust for the championship that made him win that match.

Vee’s eyes starts to glow as Keith describes those legendary moments. The fascination run through his veins as sweat pebbled down his forehead.

Keith: I still can remember the moment. His eyes were fixed to the championship as he walked in for the round 5. He had taken tons of direct shots in the previous rounds and we were certain that he wouldn’t last any longer. But his eyes were bloody red and none of us knew it was the lust for the title. He kept his sight on the strap till the bell rang. Just after few moments, the miracle happened. He dodged a left hook from Sean and lands a left uppercut on his own.

Vee can picture those moments in his eyes as he had watched that match tons of time. He could feel his heart beat a little faster.

Keith: We never thought he can dodge a shot coming to his right side. But he did and landed a perfect uppercut that lands right under the chin of then champion and knocked him outcold. Bruce was the ultimate underdog, media’s disdain, a mismatch till that moment. Nonetheless he craved for the championship title, that made him a champion to everyone’s surprise.

The eyes of the then ring-man Keith’s eyes are a little wet as he finished off the story; his lips didn’t forget to smile nevertheless. Vee and Sara looked at each other with glee and Vee reaches out and hugs Keith tightly.

Vee: Thank you very much! I feel like I lived on that moment now. This is why I came here for. I’ve watched that match a dozen times and read about it quite often, still only now, I feel like I lived that moment. Thank you again.

Keith smiles and gets up from his chair.

Keith: I should thank you too, because I relived that moment. If you excuse me, I’ll have to attend another appointment.

Keith walks past them both out the cabin door, holding a napkin close to his cheekbone. Emotion overflowed his face as he walked out the cabin. Vee rests back on his chair and turns his head toward Sara who looks at him with her habitual grin.

Sara: I can see the eyes filled with the lust for gold…

Vee: But you’ve never seen that match.

Sara: I mean I can see it in your eyes. Tell me my dear, did you’ve any moments in your life similar to that? Because as Keith described the match, I couldn’t stop noticing the lust that intensifies in your eyes.

The #1 contender for the Eurasian championship lets a smile to spread across the corner of his lips. He locks his arms above his head; recalls a certain moment to his eidetic memory.

Surrey, England.

March 21, 2007

It was Vee’s first championship match at Surrey Wrestling Academy; fighting for the Television Championship in their annual Pay-per-view event. The British Indian Vee was up against a monster of a man named Gunman Choo. A 6 feet 5, 380 pounded monster who Vee pinned in their previous outing via roll-up which gave him an opportunity at the Television Championship. Despite the mismatch of size, the match was back and forth, until, Gunman adversely hits Vee with a low blow behind the referee’s eyes.

Announcer #1: WHAT A BLOW!! Now the championship has started eluding Vee!

Instead of finishing the match quickly, the champion wanted to embarrass Vee by tossing him around the ring like a rag doll. Vee’s body almost had given out, only till he was thrown over the top-rope, crashing him on the floor near the ring announcer. Laying on his back, Vee opened his eyes only to get flushed by the shining of the beautiful gold plated Championship belt. They rekindled Vee’s energy and stamina. The moment Vee heard the referee’s count 8! Vee pulls his body up with all his might and jumps into the ring, breaking the count.

Announcer #1: Vee’s wrestling skills and integrity are utterly a mismatch to this man’s brutality.

Announcer #2: You’re absolutely right. But you’ve to give credits for Vee as well. Look at his attitude. This British Indian lad is not going to give up anytime soon. He is an immense talent with gifted fighting spirit!

Gunman who was savouring the moment till then, rushes to Vee, dragging him to his feet and slams him down with a huge Chokeslam! Without giving any breather, he locks Vee in a Chokehold, squeezing his neck. His eyes were flushing red with his blood and his legs were trembling.

Before he could feel those dreadful moments in the present, he was brought back to reality by Sara who shakes Vee from the day-dream.

Sara: Hunny? What’s wrong?

Vee: Nothing dear. I just… Shall we leave now?

They both stand up from their respective chairs and walks out of the cabin, soon out of the library to their car. Vee opens the door but Sara insists on driving so he let her take the wheel and take the passenger seat for himself.

Not such a great driver, Sara drives the car carefully focusing on the road which lets Vee to be on his own in the seat comfortably. As the car drives down the road, the turbulence of the driving made Vee to jiggle in his seat slightly. His eidetic memory resumes the events which paused awhile back.

Vee was strangled in the Choke-hold by his opponent Gunman. Vee’s face slowly started to turn pale as the blood was squeezed in its path. But he wasn’t ready to give-up despite the referee begged him to tap out. Vee could see the glimpse of the Championship title through the corner of his eyes, at the ringside; he recollected his entire body strength and tried to push it up, in no vain though. Then he reminded himself to use his mind rather than physical strength. He swayed his look around in all the directions to find an opening; the two odd minutes he was locked in the choke-hold seemed like eternity. Finally, he managed to use his feet to repeatedly kick at the shin of his opponent. That made him lose his balance momentarily, Vee used that opportunity to lock his heavier opponent in a triangle choke of his own!

Announcer #1: What a counter by Vee! Never doubted his technical ability in the ring. He looks in different space today with his skills and techniques!

Announcer #2: I told you so! Technical wrestling is always better than strength and brutality. Vee’s MMA background is paying him off at this juncture. But it’s his smartness to use it to a good extent that’s giving him an advantage over any other technical wrestlers in the world!

Still, with size being an advantage, Gunman, the monster, picked him up with that hold and slammed him down the mat. Then he tossed him across the ring to catapult Vee off the ropes. But the master of technical wrestling, goes for a Trill-a-whirl head scissor takedown and somehow methodically modified that into a Fujiwa Armbar on the mat! The defending champion whimpered in pain but Vee isn’t ready to let him go. He fastened his eyes on the championship gold and put an enormous pressure on Gunman’s arm. Locked in the centre on the ring, Gunman Tapped OUT!! Apparently, he gave up his championship to Vee!

Announcer #1 & #2: VEE DID IT!!!

Vee’s car screeched as Sara applied the brakes at a turning junction. Vee gives Sara a terrified look, to which Sara responds with an innocent face. They both smile at each other for a few seconds before they drive back to their hotel room.

……….

At Unscripted 2016…

Vee is seated in his locker room whilst Sara helps him in wearing the ring gears. He takes on his green shaded glove. He looked at Sara with a concerned face.

Vee: Why aren’t my parents here yet?

Sara: Their flight is 3 hours late. But don’t worry, they’ve landed and will be here any minute. Just focus on your match I’ll wait outside and bring them to the ringside.

Vee: They have the backstage passes, don’t they?

Sara searches for something in his gear-bag; answers Vee without looking at him.

Sara: Of course they do! But you’ll need this to be in the ring with Titus.

Sara hands him over a kidney guard, a much needed protection against the reigning Eurasian champion Titus Avison. A grin formed across Vee’s face as he grabs it from her hand.

Vee: This isn’t going to stop him from punching my balls, is this? Anyhow, I don’t understand why he loves doing that. Perhaps he envies of the others… Oh well, I’m not supposed to talk like that.

They both share a fair bit of laughter before Vee walks down the production area to the gorilla position. Soon he was interrupted by Stacey Maddison on his way.

Stacey: Hey! Do you’ve a moment for me? Can’t believe I have to even interview someone who isn’t even a champion. Well… Get the camera rolling, make it fast dammit!

Vee looks visibly annoyed by her words. Temper flared across his face as she pushes a mic at his face.

Vee: Alright, look Stacey. Before you start to ask me some obviously stupid questions, I’ll just answer them unasked, because I got a match up front. First of all, you’re going to ask me about the match stipulations. The WZCW fans have to choose between either Pure Rules, Shoot fight under MMA rules or Humiliation match. Pure Rules is Titus’ match, Shoot fight is apparently mine, hell, these fans might want me to humiliate Titus in the Humiliation match. I’ll tell you what, it doesn’t matter what match it is going to be. I’m a man bound by Rules and it’s privilege for me to be in the only third Pure Rules match of WZCW.

He pauses for a moment before continuing to address Stacey.

Vee: I have been in the wrestling ring and I have been in a MMA ring as well! I have humiliated my opponents in both those rings. You see, it’s not about humiliating anyone tonight. It’s about two things. One, ME winning the Eurasian Championship. Two, Titus realizing that I’m no mismatch to his stature. Titus, he may a legend but this Avison is an asshole. I don’t know what transformed him into this, but I still feel privileged to be in the ring with Titus. After all, it’s only him, Showtime and Everest had ever participated in the Pure Rules match. I’ll be grateful if the fans choose that match.

Stacey takes the mic back to her, apparently to ask the next question. But Vee defiantly grabs the mic in his own hands.

Vee: I know, what you’re going to ask next. About the secret rule that’ll be implemented, if Pure Rules is voted. I don’t care if it’s going to be Five Count Pin Fall or No top-rope moves or it involves something with my parents or even if it’s going to be Titus Wins Stipulation! I will find a way to beat him. Rather than wasting your time backstage, desperately looking for someone to interview you better should come to the ringside and watch the greatest match me and Titus is going to put on.

With that Vee concludes the interview and walks off only to get stopped by another, but much familiar figure in his way. He looks up at that figure, revealing it to be his father.

Vee: DAD! You’re here!!

His father pulls him in for a big tight hug. Pride seemed to be adorned in his face as he reads Vee’s face which is full of glee.

Vee’s Father: Still the same old Temper, eh? But don’t let that take you over inside that ring tonight.

Vee smiles at his father and hugs him again.

Vee: Where is mum? Isn’t she here?

Vee’s father: Sara picked her up and they both are at the ringside. I just wanted to tell you a little thing before you get to your match. It’s been exactly a year since you left everything behind to join WZCW. You remember, you debuted for this promotion on Ascension that preceded last year’s Unscripted, right?

Vee simply nods his head listening to his father.

Vee’s father: You were one of the lumberjacks in that show, if I remember correctly. Then at Lethal Lottery, you participated at the lethal lottery match, in London, just 40 miles away from our home. We were at the ringside, me and your mum, speculating that you’ll do something spectacular. Then we both travelled to Canada without your knowledge to watch your King for a Day participation at Kingdom Come.

Vee bows his head down in shame as he remembered his loss at Kingdom Come. But his father raised his head up by his chin.

Vee’s father: Don’t look down. Look at me. There’s nothing to be ashamed of. Your mum desperately wanted to be at Apocalypse and Gold Rush but we couldn’t. In the meantime, you’ve made something out of your career. Whatever you had done so far, we’re proud of. Because you had done everything with integrity. Now it’s time for you to reap some reward. You’re a deserved champion. You should come out tonight as a champion that you are.

Vee: Everything I had done, is not just for me but to make you proud. Beating a legend is everything I have dreamed of. More than that, I will get my first Championship in WZCW if I win tonight. My names will be engraved along with all the other Eurasian Champions in the history of WZCW so far. Titus is a legend. Tonight I’m not going to follow his legendary path; I’m going to walk over his legendary path to create my own.

Both Vee and his father looked at the curtains behind which they’re standing at the Gorilla position as Vee’s music blares. He hugs his dad one final time before jumps on his feet getting ready to walk through those curtains. The first few words of his entrance song kept repeating in his ears.

I AM PHENOMENAL
WITH EVERY OUNCE IN MY BLOOD, WITH EVERY BREATH IN MY LUNGS
WON’T STOP UNTIL I’M PHENOMENAL

I AM PHENOMENAL
HOWEVER LONG THAT IT TAKES
I’LL GO THROUGH WHATEVER LENGTHS
IT’S GONNA MAKE ME A MONSTER THOUGH

I AM PHENOMENAL
BUT I WOULD NEVER SAY IT’S IMPOSSIBLE
CAUSE I’M BORN TO BE…. PHENOMENAL

If you've seen the Blues Brothers, The Breakfast Club, Barbershop, Barbershop 2: Back in Business or Barbershop: The Next Cut then you know this city. The skyline is world famous and the less said about the team that play in Wrigley field the better. As the camera pans we're stood with WZCW EurAsian champion Titus Avison, and longtime commentator Johnny Klamor. We are, of course in...

Titus: CHICAGO ILLINOIS!

Klamor: Yes. After a three and a half hours with Leon I am aware of the city we're in.

It had been so long since he was last interviewed by Klamor that Titus Avison almost forgot how sarcastic he could be. After all he has quite the history.

From the moment he left high school he started working his ways through the ranks at a local paper. Eventually he went into tabloids and interviewed some of the biggest stars in the world, although none had won five Oscars. His Grandfather was a huge wrestling fan so when the opportunity came to interview for an array of wrestling promotions, he didn't say no. After fifteen years in the industry there was only one man WZCW could call on when they first opened their doors.

If anyone is going to keep a man with an ego the size of Titus Avison in control it's Johnny Klamor.

Titus: Three and a half hours? Johnny, friend, it's only a half an hour flight from Indianapolis.

Klamor: It's cheaper to drive.

With access to the worlds starts travelling as a young single man, Klamor made the most of the finer things in life. Time takes it toll though and every penny helps.

Titus: We go back a long way old buddy, I'd have put you in my private jet. I should probably have a name for it really, I could call it the...

Klamor: Now listen here boy!

Titus was taken aback, he'd never been called boy in at least twenty years. It was a running joke in WZCW that Avison would be called old man but he was still only 32. This though, was something else.

Klamor: I have known you for years, we have a professional working relationship but I am not your buddy or friend? Have you got it?

A silent pause, you could cut the tension with a knife.

Titus: I do apologise Mr. Klamor.

Not a hint of sarcasm from the legend, a rare heartfelt apology for a man who is respected the industry over.

Klamor: I suppose I better interview you before Banks gets pissed off.

Titus: Since when did you care about pissing Banks off?

Klamor: I'm a professional, Avison. That's why I don't want to piss him off.

Titus: Touché.

Klamor: Since I'm a professional, I'm not interviewing you outside. Meet me at my hotel room at 6pm. It'll give you some time to clear your head.

Titus: My head doesn't need cle...

Klamor: It'll give you some time to clear your head.

The scene swipes, Titus Avison is now muttering to himself about respect. He walks down quite a busy street ignoring the shouts for autographs and photos. He is at his destination “Chicago's MMA store”. He walks in, it's pretty much empty apart from the lone employee.

Titus: I need some gear.

Dave: I'm Dave, I'll be able to help you Mr. Avison.

Titus: Great, no doubt you need to know what it's for?

Dave: Nope. I know, Unscripted. Against Vee.

Titus: I thought you MMA lot hated wrestling.

Dave: I used to wrestle here and there, always been quite a fan of yours.

Titus: I bet you did, punk.

Titus walks off and looks at a pair of long shorts and gloves. He compares the colours to each other and gets frustrated that he can't get a good matching pair.

Titus: I think I'll go elsewhere, I need to look my best and I'm not going to get it here.

Dave: You needn't bother. I've voted for Pure Rules.

Taken aback Titus smiles at the store clerk and rubs his hands with glee.

Titus: Ah good, Pure rules would definitely suit me more.

Dave: No, it won't. There's nothing Pure about you any more. You'd beat him in an MMA fight. I doubt he'd want to humiliate you in front of his parents so Pure rules is the only way to wipe that smarmy look off your face and to give WZCW a EurAsian champion they deserve.

Titus: You can't say tha...

Dave: I can say what I like. It's the truth. I'm also the proprietor of this establishment and I politely ask you to leave.

The champion had enough as he stormed out of the store. He wasn't used to people standing up against him and over the last month it was happening more and more. There was only one man to blame in the mind of Titus Avison. It was Vee A.D.Z.

---

The scene had now shifted to Titus in his now familiar grand hotel. The Hilton near O'Hare airport allows the world to pass by but let a man with the world at his feet stay hidden.

Titus: They will be eating their words come Unscripted. He wants a humiliation match? I'll show him humiliation. He'll regret it.

Titus chuckles, the balcony door bringing a breeze through with the sound of planes passing outside.

Titus: I wonder if any of those planes are the wonderful Sara. Ha. She looks there and says "Bra jabbot älsking!" as you step in the ring. At the bell as you've been pinned and your hopes and dreams are dashed I'll turn to her and say back "Bra job, min älsking!" The icing on the cake to a truly awful evening for the love of your life. Cute.

Titus gets out his phone.

Titus: Hey, they definitely have front row tickets? Great, make him think it's his doing not mine. Cheers Vance.

He puts the phone away and walks towards the balcony.

Titus: That's Mr. and Mrs. A.D.Z got front row seats with their future daughter in law. It'll make my victory all too sweeter for sure. I'll remember for the rest of my life the look on his darling mothers face as I hold the belt above his knocked out body. I'm the champion and your son is nothing. His Dad shaking his head in disappointment, if only you were a doctor or stuck to engineering.

A pause.

Titus: Then he'd have something to be proud of. If only there was a brother, maybe a Lee A.D.Z and he could feel true joy in a son. Sadly it will be humiliation!

---

The scene changes to Johnny Klamor stood outside a hotel room, Titus approaches him. They exchange pleasantries as Johnny opens the door. Inside the room is even more extravagant than Titus' hotel room, he gasps in shock as Johnny has a smirk on his face.

Titus: What the hell?! I thought you couldn't afford this!

Klamor: Of course I can't, we only have it for half an hour. A favour from the owner. It was worth it to see your face though, you're not as good as you think you are.

Titus: No. I'm better.

Klamor: You're arrogant and jumped up. A Pure Rules is what is needed to get you back down to Earth.

Titus: I'm undefeated in the match type.

Klamor: Undefeated streaks are always broken.

Titus: Do you honestly think Vee will defeat me?

Klamor: He has his family at ringside and will fight with honour. Anything is possible.

Titus: The secret rule can change things. Don't worry, it's not an only I can win sort of deal.

Klamor: Titus Avison. The only man in the world who would add a secret stipulation to a match based on honour and purity.

Klamor claps his hands rather sarcastically, Titus smiles pretending he thinks it's genuine.

Klamor: So what next?

Titus: Sorry?

Klamor: If you win, what next? You could have Howard or Logan fighting you. There's the roulette rounds and you could face anyone. You may face Vee again. Flex surely hasn't forgotten about you. John Doe's about. Noah Ryder is wanting to cash in and Vis Imperium growing rapidly. There's Theron Daggershield waiting to get his own back and Manson and Mancini trying to make a name for themselves. What next?

Titus: That's the beauty of holding the biggest prize in WZCW. Everyone wants to make a name for themselves. Everyone is after me and I love it! It doesn't matter what is next, I'm going to have fun on the way.

Klamor: Are you going to tell me the secret rule then?

Titus: Let's make our way to the All State Arena, and I'll show you.

Klamor: You mean the United Center?

Titus: Oh yeah. Once we get there I'll show you but we can't let anyone else see, not yet anyway.

The EurAsian champion and the veteran announcer leave the hotel room together. Presumably on their way to Unscripted where the secret will be unveiled to all. For now though some things are best unrevealed, an unscripted way of doing things for sure.
