Too Sweet To Be Sour
Who are some of your favorites on the indy scene who don't get a lot of attention?

I have two, first is "Violent" Vance Desmond. He is a really small name, worked indy shows in southeastern Ohio and western West Virginia. He had a smaller physique but could work a crowd nicely and had an intense persona. Got the crowd into matches and worked good matches, He had a TNA tryout lined up at one point a few years ago, not sure what happened. But he was pretty good for what and who he was and has talent. Not sure if he's still working matches or not. I'll post a video of him below:

Another one is Drake Younger. More well known than my last choice, but still relatively unknown, kid is a good worker. he has a great technical style and can work an in-ring grounded-type match, but also has the ability to work hardcore and deathmatch styles. He is known for his work in CZW and EVOLVE and CHIKARA. I'll post a video below, sorry about there being an overload of deathmatch work, but it's his main style he has worked so far.:

This Vance character doesnt look too bad. Needs to put on 30 pounds of muscle and he could be a WWE prospect I think. The other guy seems like junk, hes got a horrible look and those gimmick matches dont sell well. Maybe if he worked out and brought some of those moves to a classic setting hed be ok. Its real hard to find many guys on the Indy scene who are interesting.

First two guys are from Dragon Gate USA, BxB Hulk and Dragon Kid. Hulk is becoming a pretty big name, WWE were reported to have shown an interest in him but that could have been a dirt sheet rumor. Hulk is becoming the shit to watch. Dragon Kid is kind of the heir to the throne of Ultimo Dragon's. He got the blessing from Ultimo to take the name and the similar mask, except his shoulders are cut off. Again, he'll be making himself a name over the next while, and he's only 22 so don't be surprised if you see him somewhere big some day.

La Sombra is the Mistico replacement in CMLL. Very young from what I know and also very talented. I don't know much about him, but I've seen him wrestle a good seven or eight times. Best advice is whatch his matches with Liger, because Sombra can fucking go!

Middle guy is Johnny Goodtime from PWG. Really great personality, some people think Zack Ryder has a personality? HA! Compared to this guy, Ryder has his tounge cut out. The audio is disabled on the video I posted so check one of the videos on the sidebar. Great young talent.

And the final two are from the company which possibly has the best wrestling in America. EVOLVE's Tony Nese who I got money on to make it big, and Chris Dickinson whose a great young wrestler and has improved ten-fold since he started in a promotion in Brooklyn. Keep your eyes on all of them, but these are all guys who will make a name for themselves.

Those of you living in southern California should check out the NWA from
Hollywood taping on July 10th at the Regent showcase theater on LaBrea
near Melrose at 3:00 pm. These are nearly all young hungry wrestlers that
work hard and are very approachable by fans. The TV show airs on KDOC
channel 56 on Saturday night at 11:00pm. One of the wrestlers that appears
regularly is Colt Cabana.

A local show around here called ECCW has a few guys who I really like, but this one is the best of the bunch.

Scotty Mac:
This guy is the owner of ECCW, and a former NWA Canadian Champion
He has the look, and the charisma.. Just lacks the size for WWE.

Tony Nese: "The Premiere Athlete" , current Pro Wrestling Syndicate NY State Champion, top star in NYWC , just did a match on TNA Impact, and several 'extra' work spots on WWE programing. Muscled guy that does high flying with an arsenal of catch wrestling skills. Will be wrestling Azrieal, Amazing Red, and Brian XL in a 4 Way on August 20th in Long Island NY (www.ProWrestlingSyndicate.com).

Shiima Xion One of the best high flyers in the world ... got some exposure from doing two TNA matches (Impact & ppv) ... has experience from AAA and Pro Wrestling Syndicate amongst others.

Kevin Matthews: Ex WWE Developmental standout currently working for Pro Wrestling Syndicate in NY. One of the best in the business on the mic, has size , good look , arsenal of flashy big power moves, knocked out boxing legend Butterbean for The PWS Title in 2010. His next match will be against Sonjay Dutt on Aug 20th at PWS in Long Island NY.

Sami Callihan .. arguably the best pound for pound indy guy on the scene right now. I wouldnt have included "The New Horror" on this list as he is the current Pro Wrestling Syndicate Heavyweight Champion and works for CZW, Evolve, and others .... but considering Drake Younger was mentioned in the first post (and Drake was a CZW Heavyweight Champion) ... will def plug Sami here. Strong style , very over, great promos, unique look, 101 lariat variations, always delivers.

Lesser known guys

Lucifer Darksyde near 500 pound guy that does moonsaults ... will be wrestling Danny Demanto on 8/20 for PWS

Wes Draven African American lightweight high flyer .. a lot of flashy moves similar to Amazing Red .. .does a Van Terminator coast to coast dropkick .. utilizes marital arts ..flashy technical moveset. One Half of the undefeated PWS Tag Team Champion Urban Legends and a former FTW Gen X Champion.

Azrieal Got some tv time on TNA Impact , this is the one guy from a group that included Low Ki, Homicide, Red, and others that should have had a major break out years ago but never did. Unsung hero so to speak. Born in Argentina, trained by Homicide, technical specialist with an array of high flying assaults.

Rich Swann Has competed in PWU, PWS, DGUSA, and others ..finally starting to make a bit of a buzz. African American lightweight that does some insane high flying moves including a standing 450 splash ... has Jack Evans -like potential

The Dynamic Sensation Has been sidelined with an injury for the past year as a result of being squashed through a table from a balcony dive by a 300 pound guy at PWS. TDS had 'jobber matches' on WWE tv , still very young yet experienced. Comparable to a young Jeff Hardy in looks and in ring ability. Created several moves that WWE's John Morrison took including the step over enziguri to the face of a seated opponent and also was the first to do the split legged twisting moonsault which Morrison uses as a finisher now.
