UFC 118: Edgar vs. Penn II Prediction Contest

Turd Ferguson

DA-DA Da Da Da Bah Da Da DADADA
This is the prediction contest for UFC 118: Edgar vs. Penn II! DO NOT post your picks in this thread. PM your picks to me whenever you are ready. I will be taking picks up until the fights start, which should be around 7:15 p.m. EST. Any picks submitted after that point will not count.

When you make your picks, you have to pick whoever you think will win, the amount of confidence points you assign to each fighter, the method of victory (strikes, sub hold or decision), and the round (or decision). Regular fights are 3 rounds. Championship fights are 5 rounds. There is ONE Title Fight on this card.

Here are two examples of correct predictions:

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Luiz Cane
Winner: Nogueira (4)
Method of Victory: Strikes
Round: 1

A correct prediction here would net 6 points.

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Keith Jardine
Winner: Rampage (6)
Method of Victory: Decision

A correct prediction here would net 8 points. If you predict a decision, that is how you should go about predicting it.

I will be sending my picks to JMT225 so that there is no suspicion of cheating.

If you need reference for how this works, or have any questions, check out this thread: http://forums.wrestlezone.com/showthread.php?t=112934

I will not be reminding anyone about confidence points... it's your responsibility to understand the system.

Fizzy will be putting his title on the line against Dressler for this card. Best of luck to the both of them!

Use the provided link to pick fights. You will be predicting 10 fights... which is the entire card, so assign your confidence points accordingly.

I'll be going to this card. Results will probably be up next Monday rather than the day after the event.

Let me start off by saying that the participation for this event was incredible, and that I want to thank everyone that participated. I think that as the summer is winding down, participation is going to pick back up again, which is good for everyone.

For the championship, Fizzy defended against Dressler, and it was really close with the result being:

Fizzy - 48
Dressler - 45

Great job by both as they predicted very well. Fizzy just pulled out ahead by three points though. Congratulations to Fizzy for successfully defending his title.

For the #1 contendership, we had 11 participants, and the results are as follows:

Boxer38 - 58
GuyCompton - 44
Buffalo Dave - 43
JMT225 - 42
Thesaurus - 41
Rizza - 37
Superman Punch - 36
Marquis - 28
IndyJon - 26
Robindih - 6
Mr. Steve - 4

It should be noted that Robindih didn't supply confidence points and Mr. Steve only predicted 4 fights.

So, Fizzy will defend his title against Boxer38 at the UFN 22: Marquardt vs. Palhares card. Get ready guys, we'll have three prediction contests in September, and they'll all come in a 15 day span.

Damn.. I did pretty good. I am actually shocked that I did so well. I believe what really helped me was the Maynard/Florian fight. So were doing Marquardt vs. Palhares, Mir vs. CroCop, and which other one for September? Bisping vs. Akiyama is October isn't it?

WEC 51 is the other card we're going to be predicting in September.

That is a huge card, and probably just as big as the Aldo/Faber card. The stacked card is:

WEC Featherweight Title:
Jose Aldo vs. Manny Gamburyan

Jamie Varner vs. Donald Cerrone

Miguel Torres vs. Charlie Valencia

Chan Sung Jung (The Korean Zombie) vs. George Roop

Leonard Garcia vs. Mark Hominick

Mike Brown is going to be fighting on the prelims of that card too. It's huge, and it's free on Versus.
