......................................................................................

Man, I know I get excited for pretty much every UFC event, lol, but honestly... I haven't been this excited for a UFC card since UFC 100. Yes, it sucks Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin had to get knocked off the show, but I am a fan of so many guys on this card that it more than makes up for it.

The commercials for the Tito Ortiz/Forrest Griffin fight have by far been the best commercials to ever come from the UFC. They are fucking EPIC. How anyone can watch it and not want to order this show... I just don't know what to say for them. But yeah... this fight is going to be awesome, especially if it's anything like the first, which is one of my favorite fights of all time.

If Forrest were fighting literally ANYONE else, I'd be heavily rooting for him because I just hate to see the guy lose 3 straight, but since he's fighting my favorite fighter of all time, I have to pull against Forrest in this one, especially since this is Tito's comeback fight. Nevertheless, with two guys with SOOOOOOO much to prove, and two guys with as much determination and motivation these two are currently carrying with them right now, we are guaranteed a FOTY Candidate. Both these guys ALWAYS put on an exciting fight, but neither have ever had the odds stacked against them like they currently do, so you know they both will be coming out to impress. I cannot wait to see it.

Josh Koscheck vs. Anthony Johnson is another fight that's going to be awesome. Two knockout specialist who absolutely love to bang. While I don't think this one will last for long.... one thing's for sure: we're guaranteed a devastating knockout in this one. I'm pretty sure Koscheck will be the one getting knocked out, but you never know. Kos is one of the hardest working individuals in the sport, so you just cannot count the dude out. It's going to be a good one, that's for sure.

Amir Sadollah got screwed in his last fight (his first fight after winning TUF 7) with the early referee stoppage, so you know he's going to come into this one looking to destroy his opponent. And thankfully, his opponent is Phil Baroni, who absolutely sucks. I cannot fucking stand Baroni, either, so it's going to be awesome to see his face get crushed. Also, I like Amir a lot, so it'll be nice to see him get back on the winning track as well.

While I still think Tito vs. Forrest will be as epic as possibly can be, Luiz Cane vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira could still very well end up stealing the show and becoming Fight of the Night. A lot of you have probably never seen either of these two fight, but trust me... you are in for a real fucking treat with these two. They're two of the very best Light Heavyweights in the World, and both of them are on the verge of becoming the next big deal in the division. They both know this, and both will be coming to this fight looking to impress. I personally have Lil' Nog edging it out, but man it's hard to count out Luiz Cane, who has just looked awesome in his last three fights.

I'm not a fan of Karo Parisyan as a person, but I'll tell you this, there aren't many others in the sport I enjoy watching fight more than him. He's like a 170 pound version of Fedor, with the way he rag dolls people and what not. It's really, really fun to watch him fight. And his opponent, Dustin Hazelett is another one who's really fun to watch, so you know we're in for a treat in this one. Dustin's looked damn good in his last few fights (shit he even did well in his losses), but I don't think he's good enough to beat someone like Karo. Karo's just too big and well-rounded for someone like Hazlett to handle, I think.

The two spike-aired Prelim fights are must sees as well. Kendall Grove is one of my favorite Middleweights, so I'm always excited to watch him fight. His opponent, Jake Rosholt, looked fantastic in his win against Chris Leben, and while Chris Leben is extremely talented, he's no Kendall Grove, especially when it comes to size and Jiu-Jitsu. So, I think and hope Grove will get back on the winning track with this one. And Ben Saunders vs. Marcus Davis is going to be a fucking stand-up war. Saunders loves the clinch and to bang people up with his knees, while Davis is a boxer who loves to push the pace and look for the knockout. I'm rooting for Davis in this one big time, but I'm not so confident in him winning. Saunders is huge for a Welterweight, and I just don't know how Marcus will do against someone like that.

And the rest of the Prelims are interesting to me as well, since Paulo Thiago, Brock Larson, Caol Uno and George Sotiropoulos are all fighting. I'm not a big fan of Paulo, but I'm still curious to see whether or not he's the real deal. Larson is really fun to watch and was once upon of time the next big thing in the Lightweight Division, so it'll be interesting to see if he can rebound from his last loss. I've been a fan of Caol Uno for years, so I'm heavily pulling for him to get back on track in his fight career. And George Sotiropoulos was one of my favorite fighters from TUF 6, so it's going to be great to see him get back in there, after a long, long absence because of knee surgery.

For a casual fan like myself, this is a fight that I'd pay to see. It's a big enough "main event", that the undercard means absolutely nothing. I'm sure there would be a fight or two to open my eyes, and make me think "That guy's going places", but for the most part, I'm tuning in to see Ortiz and Griffin go toe-to-toe, and hammer each other's skulls in.

I'm not sure who would win, but I'd say that Griffin has to have an edge, with Ortiz having to shake off some rust, and whatever he may have caught from Jenna. I won't call Griffin a winner, but I'd say he'd be a favorite.

Let me say holy fucking shit. Tito is coming back. Tito is tied as my first favorite fighter of all time, and everyday I grow to like him more and more(because i'm continually watching videos of him.) I cannot wait for Saturday. As for the fight if the Tito of old comes around that will be horrible for Forrest. Tito dominated the first fight in the first round because he came out as the Tito we all know. If he keeps that pace up this time instead of trying to stand with Forrest Tito will take this. If the fight stays standing Forrest wins. Either way it'll be a great fight.

As for the other fights i'd LOVE to see Johnson fucking knock Koscheck out. Ever since the Ultimate Fighter i've hated Koscheck and I just need to see him get knocked out. None of the other fights interest me except for the Nogueira fight. I haven't seen him fight and am looking forward to see how he actually performs.

I would love to get this but like I have said a thousand times I don't have the money. One of the fights that made me a fan of mma was the first fight between Griffin and Ortiz. That fight was so good. We had Tito the long time Light heavy champion against the TUF 1 winner. No one gave Forrest a shot at winning until about half way through the fight when people realized "holy shit, this Griffin kid can fucking fight." So I can not fucking wait to see a continuation of that classic encounter. Hopefully Griffin can win and get going on another run to the belt but on the flip side for nostalgic purposes I kinda hope Tito wins to see the legend get rolling one more time.

Koscheck/Johnson is a casual fans wet dream. Every casual fan could give a shit about a guys jiu jitsu or wrestling but if they can fucking throw bombs the casuals mark out big time. Well thats exactly what your going to get form these two. You have Anthony Johnson who is a legit punching machine and wrestler and Kos who is a pretend punching machine but an excellent wrestler. It's going to be exciting as hell when these two finally come together and exchange.

Now I will leave my predictions for this card later this week because I have to make sure I pick the right people but this card could very well be better then any card we have seen in the last month and we have seen some good fucking fights.

After the Silva-Griffin fight, it seems that Griffin may be losing it. I've personally always loved his work and skills, but I don't know where he's going...

Honestly, Pestilence, I don't think Forrest has lost "it", I think he was matched up with a guy who people underestimated in regards to top competition. I think even Forrest over looked Anderson and he suffered badly from it. Well see if he has lost "it" but then again well also see it Tito still has "it" as well. Their fight will show a lot about both men in regards to where they are and where they are going in the future. All Forrest needs is another 3 round war with Tito and people will think he is the real deal all over again.

Karo Parisyan pulled out of the fight today. Dana is PISSED. He twittered about it, and here's what he had to say:

"Karo Parisyan has fucked over the UFC, the fans and his opponent again!!! He will not be fighting saturday or ever again in the UFC!!"

"Pulled out of the fight the day before weigh ins again with a laundry list of excuses!!! Let the press ask karo why! Let him explain."

So, that sucks. Like I said in my earlier post, I'm not a fan of Karo as a person, but as a fighter... he's one of my favorites to watch. It's a shame we'll probably never get to see him in the UFC again, but he'll still be a great pick up for Strikeforce. Hell, in fact... Nick Diaz vs. Karo is one of my favorite fights of all time, so I definitely wouldn't mind getting a Diaz/Karo 2 in the near future. :D

LMAO at Dana flipping out, I guess you can't really blame him though, he wasn't given much notice. I suppose either Grove's or Davis' fight could move up to the main card now. As for the rest of the PPV.

Tito v. Forrest - You have to be pumped for this fight if you're a fan of this sport. Two of the biggest stars in a rematch of what was a hell of a fight. Personally, I can't stand Tito and am definetly pulling for Griffin here, it's impossible not the like the guy. The more he can keep the fight standing, the better his chances of winning.

(Quick rant on their last fight, what the fuck was wrong with the judges? I'm not arguing Tito winning, as that was reasonable, but how the hell were there scores of 30-27 and 29-27? Tito did dominate the first round, but it's pretty hard to get an 8 in a round and I think that Forrest did enough to avoid that. As for the judge that gave all 3 rounds to Tito, wtf? Tito hardly threw any punches in the 2nd and got stuffed on 4 or 5 takedown attempts, how does he win that round? Again, I'm not arguing Tito winning, the 3rd round was extremely close and could've went either way, but the judging as a whole sucked.)

Koshcheck v. Johnson - Big fan of both of these guys, but as jmt has said time and time again, Josh is a wrestler who want to be a striker. If they keep this standing, which they probably will, I don't see how Johnson doesn't win.

Not much to say for the rest of the card, the Amir and Little Nog should probably win, I'm excited to see Kendall Grove fight if it stays on the prelims.

Damn thats sucks that he pulled out the day before weigh in. He is such a pompous ass, but he is a great fucking fighter. If this is indeed true and I believe it will be, Karo will be a great pick up for Strikeforce who has more then enough top competition to throw at him. Just imagine Parisyan vs. Diaz 2, Parisyan vs. Miller, Parisyan vs. Shields. All of those fights get me antsie in my pants.

Dana is right though, Karo is contently fucking the fans and the UFC over. I mean he has a laundry list of injuries and that whole steroid fiasco last year was total bull shit of him. Its to bad for him really, Karo was suppose to have a title fight a couple years back but one of those injuries forced him to pull out and he never got back on track. Hopefully he can make an impact in Strikeforce.

I can't ever see Karo and Diaz main eventing a Strikeforce card when both guys are pretty unreliable to begin with.

It all comes down to Karo having licensing issues.

Karo “The Heat” Parisyan is out of UFC 106 after failing to acquire a license in Nevada, according to Parisyan, due to not having the money to pay his fine from previously being suspended after testing positive for a three different pain killers following his UFC 94 bout with Kim Dong-hyun.

“There’s a lot of problems going on. They won’t re-license me unless I (expletive) pay them,” Parisyan told MMAWeekly.com. “I had to pay the $32,000 fine in order to fight. I never paid because I never had the money. I don’t know if I’ll be able to come back.”

So, if Karo had brought this to someone's attention a month ago, the UFC probably would have at the very least fronted him the money, or made arrangements for everything to work out. He also waited until days before his fight to try to renew his license. How irresponsible can you be when this is your livelihood, and despite being a ridiculously overrated fighter, had their job relatively safe despite pulling out of UFC 88 and getting into this mess to begin with.

Karo made $80,000 for his UFC 94 win (which got overturned, but still, that was rightfully his money), and sponsorship money. How could he not just write off the $32,000 right then and there?

Fake Edit: Karo is fucking ******ed.

NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer told Sherdog.com Thursday that Parisyan had already been fully licensed last January and was cleared to fight this Saturday. Kizer said Parisyan had not been required to take a pre-fight drug test for the painkillers he had been flagged for in January, as they would be tested the night of the bout.

Parisyan had contacted Kizer a few weeks ago to discuss a “nagging, lingering injury,” Kizer said, and asked what proper medications he could take prior to the bout. Kizer said he instructed Parisyan that Tylenol and icing was the safest method, but encouraged the fighter to have his physician send in a letter stating his injuries and what medications he was taking for it, so the NSAC doctor could work with him.

Kizer spoke again with Parisyan within the last week to discuss a payment plan for the $32,000 fine the fighter had previously accrued. Kizer said that NSAC Chairman Pat Lundvall had agreed to disperse payment for the fine out of the fighter's show and win purse for this weekend.

“We knew (Parisyan) was having some financial difficulties and wanted to try and help him,” Kizer told Sherdog.com.

It was agreed that $16,000 would be deducted from each purse and in the case of a loss, Parisyan would make further arrangements to settle up the remaining balance. Kizer said Parisyan seemed pleased with the arrangement.

Keith Kizer is a known douchebag, and he actually gestured to go ahead and work with Karo to pay off the fine. He even offered to defer payment of the fine in the case of a loss. It seems Karo would rather not take responsibility, have this gigantic fine hang over him, and would rather not fight ever again unless it's in Japan.

Fuck Karo. I was looking forward to Hazelett subbing him out this weekend.

This card is going to be amazing, I'm pumped for Lil Nog's debut the most with this card. But Amir and Baroni on the main card? That's a waste of a spot in my opinion, I was even surprised that the UFC even resigned The New York Badass to be honest, but Sodallah is going to lose this one based on experience alone. Karo pulling out sucked ass as well, because Hazelett is one of my favorites at Welterweight. Hopefully Rumble will actually make weight this time, six pounds over is just unacceptable. The main event should be good as long as Tito doesn't show too much 'cage rust' after his lengthy layoff.

Solid point man, but what makes you think that Baroni will beat Sadollah? I mean Baroni can throw some hard punches but we have seen in the past that the later he goes in the fight the more suceptible he is to being submitted, look no further then his lose to Pete sell. He has a very weak gas tank and if Sadollah can with stand the very evident early onslaught of punches that Baroni will throw I think he stands a good shot at catching Baroni. I mean Baroni has no real skill other then punching and while Sadollah does have weak wrestling he has good enough striking that I think he can hang with Baroni for 5 minutes up until Baroni gas's and then he will tap him.

I'm just going on the limited amount of fights Sadollah has been in, yeah the Hendricks fight was stopped early, but he was still grounded by his punches. If he can weather the first round then Sadollah very well might win it, but it only takes one punch from Baroni to be looking up from the flat of your back.

I'll give you that. Baroni has some crazy strength that hes managed to maintain between steroid usage but he has a very limited tank. Yeah he has more fight experience but he hasn't won that many compared to his lose record. He could beat Sadollah but remember how CB Dollaway was suppose to run through Amir.....twice? Yeah, that worked out so well for CB. Amir has a great upside and pulls wins out of his ass, I would be willing to guess he'll catch Baroni with an armbar in the second.

I actually hope Amir wins it. Out of all the TUF winners, besides the fourth season of course, he really hasn't had an opportunity to truly prove himself to anyone because of his unfortunate injuries and such.

Yeah, UFC 106 is going to be a huge stepping stone from him. It really is a win win for him, basically him being a TUF winner will secure him at least one more fight if he loses this one and if he wins then he beats one of the best punchers in mma history. It's a shame that this is only his second post TUF fight since we haven't been able to see much of him it really is hard to make conclusions about him but his submissions have impressed me. He still has a lot of improving to do but a win against Baroni will probably start making more people believers in him being a legit fighter.

So UFC 106 is tonight and I am pretty excited for it. Should be a pretty good card. Here are a few of my predictions for this card tonight.

Griffin/Ortiz 2- I think this fight is going to be a fucking slugfest. It will pick up right where the last fight left off. I think Griffin has a improved by leaps and bounds since the last time they fought and that will be the deciding factor. Mix that with the fact that Tito hasn't fought in nearly a year and a half and I see Forrest winning this fight. There should be some ring rust on Tito and I think it will cost him. I will take Forrest winning by decision.

Kos/Johnson- Koscheck is actually the underdog coming into this fight and it surprised me. Yes, Anthony Johnson is a great fighter and has a bright future but I think Kos is going to take this fight. Kos is a great wrestler and even though Johnson has good wrestling I see Kos taking him down. From there I see one of two scenarios, either Kos ground and pound or Kos lay and pray. Either way I see Koscheck winning the fight.

Thiago/Volkmann- I have never seen Volkmann fight so I don't know much about him. However, I have seen both of Thiago's UFC fights and he has impressed me, even in a losing effort to Jon Fitch. I see Thiago either winning this by submission or KO in the first round.

Cane/Nogueira- This will be a very interesting fight. Cane is one of the brightest talents in the entire Light Heavyweight division and Nogueira is.....well he is a Nogueira. This will be a close fight in my opinion but I think Cane will win it either by KO in a late round or decision. Should be a good fight though.

Sadollah/Baroni- I already explained this fight before but here it goes again. Baroni throws some hard punches but has a questionable gas tank. I see Amir surviving an early on slaught and catching Baroni in an arm bar in the second. Winner, Sadollah.

Undercard- A possible fight of the night could be Davis/Saunders. Both men provide exciting fights and are coming off of loses. I am looking forward to a three round war but would not be surprised to see a KO at anytime either. I will take Kendall Grove over Jake Rosholt via ground and pound or submission. Brock Larson will beat Brian Foster by KO or decision and I will take George Sotiropolus and Caol Uno both winning their fights as well.

Should be a really exciting card to watch .

Yes Ortiz may have a bit of ring rust, but as much as Forrest has gotten better Ortiz has also. I believe he hired a new boxing coach, and a great one at that which will help him extremely in this fight. I also believe if Tito takes the fight to the ground Forrest will not be able to handle him. Tito has most definitely be working on his striking leading up to the fight, and that's trouble for Forrest.

Guess i'll review this, but keep in mind i'm fucking PISSED that Tito lost.

Light Heavyweight bout: Luiz Cane vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira

This was my favorite fight of the night. Nog looked amazing in this fight and pretty much dominated everything. I was rooting heavily for him this entire fight, and he showed just how big of a threat this man can and will be in the light heavyweight devision.

Welterweight bout: Amir Sadollah vs. Phil Baroni

First off what the FUCK kind of music did Amir come out to? God it made my ears bleed. This was another good fight. Phil came out with guns fucking blazing and hurt Amir early, but after that he gassed himself out, and Amir just picked him apart. Amir's Muay Thai was amazing this fight, and I hope to see good things to come for this kid.

Alright. Time to go fucking apeshit...

Welterweight bout: Josh Koscheck vs. Anthony Johnson

Illegal knee. Thank you IC for clearing up what actually happened, because I didn't see anything hit the eye. Now onto the rest of the fight. The first eye poke on Johnson wasn't horrible. Looked like a mistake, but that second one? Holy shit could that have been more obvious? He stuck his hand directly into his eye. Johnson has some bad fucking luck with his eyes. Good rear naked by Koscheck. The post fight was another story. Koscheck showed the exact reason why I hate him. That was such a dick move. He acts as if he stands a chance at dethroning St. Pierre.

Light Heavyweight bout: Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin

*sigh... First round started much like the first fight. Tito got the takedown. Forrest did a tremendous job of getting up while taking minimal damage. Tito got another takedown but again Forrest did a great job. Close second round, and I really don't know who to give that too. Third round was another fucking story though. Now I love Tito, and he is my favorite fighter today, but what in the FUCK was he thinking?! He pretty much stood there and let Forrest beat on him. He had some half assed takedown attempts, and to be honest I think he gassed. Tito Ortiz fucking gassed. Forrest dominated that round and theres nothing to say besides that. Now onto the scoring.. The first and third judges were perfect. Just how the fight should have been scored. Now the 2nd judge scored it 30-27? How can you possibly score that 30-27? No way did Forrest win the first round. Post fight? Tito bitched as usual. At least Forrest came in to help him because he sounded like an ass.

All in all good ppv. I thought just like 105 that the main events were worse than the other fights on the card but it was worth the money.

Fizzy, Koz didn't sell the knee. If you watched the replays, there was some sort of fabric hanging off of Johnson's glove, and AFTER the knee, Johnson had an open hand graze Griffin's face and the peice of fabric scratched Koz's eye. I think he may have a scratched cornea. You can't fake or oversell swelling and redness like Koz had, and calling him a pussy is just unfair.

That's why I asked if anyone could clarify that for me. I saw nothing hit his eye, and neither did my buddies I was watching it with so I assumed. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Sure thing. We didn't notice it until, like, the 7th replay. We all thought it was the knee. Even still, Johnson still THREW an illegal knee at a man in a prone position, and Koz still battled back to win. I'm a big Koz fan. I don't like his attitude (and his post match fight was stupid, though Ortiz was worse) but I've been a fan of his since TUF. He's a legit wrestling champion and a guy I respect. I'm glad he got a big win.

Pretty much agree with Fizzywink on this card. Nog/Cane made me look like a fucking idiot. Damn did lil Nog look fantastic tonight, Cane on the other hand looked like poop. Amir's Muay tai impressed the hell out of me as well. He was just picking Baroni apart. This fight truly showed Baroni's heart though and I gained some more respect for him for it. Paulo Thiago dominated like I guessed he would. Now on to the Kos/Johnson fight. That knee by Johnson was dirty and those pokes by Kos were dirty, theres no if's and's or but's about that. However, I do not think Kos oversold that knee one bit. He got hit really fucking hard in the middle of his head. Quiet frankly I am surprised he even continued but that shows how big his heart is. That rear naked choke was a thing of beauty and tonight Kos made me a true believer that he could dethrone GSP in the future. I think if the UFC was smart they would setup the Kos/Hardy "true" number one contender fight and soon. I am so pissed about the Griffin/Ortiz fight, like no joke. Not that Forrest won but that with 3 minutes left my connection fucked up and I missed the outcome. I am happy that Forrest won this fight and I hope they setup a third fight in the not so distant future. These two know how to fuckin fight and put on a show everytime. The undercard was an interesting one. Grove pulled off a submission like I suspected he would, but Rosholt impressed the hell out of me. Sotiropolus dominated like I new he would, he needs some tougher competition now. FUCKING Brock Larson, screws me again. I love this man as a fighter but he has dissaopointed me in his last two fights. Though that hand on the mat being a kick to a downed opponent was total bullshit and that rule needs to be revised and fast. Finally, Saunders looked amazing and I hope that Davis can get back to winning soon.

Very good card that made me love mma all over again.

I predicted perfectly again for this card, making me perfect in all time. Helps being Dana White's nephew. Or at least I tell him when I write him that I am.

I will comment on the glorious main event of Griffin versus Ortiz. Now if it wasn't for Ortiz versus Shamrock, I'd probably never have watched the UFC to begin with. But if it wasn't for Forrest, I don't know if I'd watch it as much. The man is just impossible to hate. And Tito is impossible for me to love.

Round one was close enough, but I felt that Tito had it with his takedown. That was a pretty easy one to call, not sure why the one judge gave it to him but he did. Round 2 was the turning point. On the ground, Tito seemed to struggle, and Forrest was able to strike well. Round 3 was one of the best rounds I have seen in a while in the main event, as Forrest dominated to win. I am so happy for him, after coming in with two losses in a row, he looks to turn it around. After getting busted open pretty well, I am glad he came back in the third round to put on a terrific fight.

Now who wants to see rounds 7-9?

In total agreement TM, I can't wait for the holy Trifecta known as Ortiz/Griffin 3. These two are such great warriors. Tito won the first round with his takedown and ground and pound. The second round was close but I gave it to Forrest. The third round was Forrest all the way until my connection fucked up and I couldn't watch the rest of the fight so I will just say that Forrest continued to dominate Tito. I saw no post fight interviews so I don't know what Tito said but he acted like a prick at the end of the second when he tried to keep fighting Forrest after the bell. I like Tito but he has such a dick personality, he really needs to check himself before he wrecks himself. Official petition for Forrest and Tito for TUF11 coaches, lets do this shit guys!!!!!
