Triple H Doing Positive Things In WWE Development

According to reports, WWE officials are said to be very impressed with FCW stars Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins. They feel that Rollins has a few areas to work on but, overall, consider him to be right up there with Ambrose. The reason they haven't been called up to the main roster yet is because of a new decree from Triple H himself.

Trips has been overhauling WWE's Developmental system and his latest plan is simple & logical, not to mention better for everyone involved. Trips has ordered that no new FCW talent be brought up to the main roster without WWE Creative having a solid storyline planned for them to debut with as well as a strong gimmick.

I think this is a great move on Triple H's part. Don't just bring guys up from FCW just for the sake of having them on the roster, just floating around and doing nothing. We've seen a lot of that take place in the past in regards to WWE bringing guys up from FCW. It's a simple move on Triple H's part, but one that makes tons of sense. If you're going to invest your time & money in new talent, then have something meaningful in place.

I agree about Triple H, it impresses me to hear him being so thoughtful about debuts. I also agree with their assessment that Seth Rollins has more to work on than Dean Ambrose. Tyler Black is definitely a more innovative and high-flying wrestler than Dean, but both of them still have more than enough in-ring ability to pull off main event quality matches (and they already have in FCW), Black just needs to work on his mic abilities, which aren't awful but aren't remarkable at all either. I just watched the FCW show from last week and he can at least be very energetic. He had an awesome, spasmodic entrance.

I haven't got a clue why it took someone in WWE management so long to realize that this is a good idea. The WWE higher ups should have implemented this plan a long time ago; when they were partnering up with OVW, even. What's the sense in bringing someone up when you have no clue what to do with them? I haven't seen much of Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in a work in progress but both of them are worthy of a spot on the roster but it makes so much sense to wait to have something to do with them before calling them up. Who knows, this idea could have saved multiple wrestlers careers in the WWE.

Ok, I won't comment on Seth Rollins. No matter how much I don't like him.

So, the news alone. It's old. I remember reading this months ago. I remember reading that Matt Martlaro: former creative writer and play by play man in FCW had been reassigned to work at Titan Towers to help integrate them into future plans. The repost on how well they were recieved was also familiar (with Kruger being complimented but thought that he needed to project more in the ring and Sandow likewise being well recieved). So yeah, this is old, unsurprising news that's been repackaged.

I dont watch ROH, never have any intention of doing that but no doubt Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins will be fawned over by the IWC because of their affiliation with this company.

I saw a few youtube clips of Ambrose and he looks like a greasy junky fuck. He wont draw shit in my opinion, not unless he cleans his image up.

Triple H is the man to take the company forward though.

Im glad Trips is taking the time to bring guys up. Thats one thing I never liked about Nexus was that most of them weren't ready, and I felt like they should've waited till after the second season to do the storyline.

I dont know these guys, never saw ROH or anything online about them...but if they impress officials Im all for bringing them up. Glad they aren't just going to slap some gimmick on them and throw them to the wolves on the main shows.

This news makes me happy and assures me Triple H is the rightful heir to take the thrown of Vince McMahon when he is ready to retire. Good things are starting to happen with Triple H being in charge of certain things and not on TV all the time.

Perhaps doing some research is needed. Ambrose was never in ROH. And being that crazy looking guy is his gimmick. He's from the streets and had the tough life. Similar to one Roddy Piper, he just has no problem looking like that. So insted of just taking everything at face value, perhaps you should smarten up about something before speaking out against it. But it seems you are in good company I suppose

This is certainly great news. While I'm not sure a dozen flashy debuts is what we need, it'll be nice for younger, up-and-coming stars to have something to do right out of the gates. Here's an idea: why not send some of the under-card stars that are NEVER used back DOWN to FCW, and swap them for somebody like Ambrose or Rollins, once creative has figured out what to do with them? What's the point of having some of these guys on the roster if they're literally never used? Might as well send them to FCW, get them some more ring work, time to work on promos, and bring in a few bucks for the promotion while they're at it.

Good move by Triple H. This gives me confidence he'll make good decisions to get the WWE back up from the depths it has sunk to. Although, it is pretty ridiculous that this wasn't standard operating procedure already. WWE "Creative" is a joke these days, or perhaps it's because Vince McMahon took his eyes off the ball. Anyway, good move.

That's good to hear. In the past, a character was created around a wrestler. From everything I've heard, Stephanie McMahon tends to come up with a character first, then go down to FCW and "audition" people. Even though HHH had a reputation as a self-serving egomaniac in the past, he also has an undying passion for the pro wrestling business.

"Good move Triple H"? "Impressed by his thoughtfulness"?

Words can't even describe how angry comments like that make me. That's like saying, "way to go Christian Wulff! You're better than Hitler!" I can't believe it took anyone this long to brainstorm this one, it just makes sense.

So what have they been doing anyway? "Throwing them in, see if they swim" (Becky, that's still a shitty management tactic)?

...

This is perhaps the most logical, sensible thing that anyone could do when in charge of development. Why WWE higher-ups took this long to come to this realization is beyond me, and more than a little depressing to know people in charge of a multimillion dollar company are this slow.

A great move by Triple H. He has just decreased (not completely eliminated) the possibility of more FCW.

Now not every FCW guy is going to benefit form this, but it does single out the ones who will be able to sell a gimmick and tell a better story with it as opposed to taking the first step into testing the waters on WWE TV. Who knows maybe guys like Rollins and Ambrose may not be what everyone says they are. This will also make the FCW time more valuable, sure there is not going to be a perfect debut or perfect career as a result of this (well in large numbers), but to me any improvement is an good improvement.

A good step (not leap) forward for the developmental FCW by WWE.

I like the idea, I really do but there's just one problem. If creative can't even find things for the wrestlers already on the roster how can we expect them to find something for someone not even on the main roster? I don't know how hard it is to really be a creative writer for WWE, but I can only assume they have a lot on their plates already. So my only guess is that they won't really have a lot of time alloted for those guys who haven't been called up yet which would just extending their time in FCW. So I'm not really sure how that's going to work out unless they hire more writers specifically to brainstorm ideas for future main roster wrestlers.

Like I said, I like the idea but they have to be very careful. Don't bring those guys up unless they really are ready and have strong gimmicks. The wrong gimmick can really ruin someone's career forever and they won't ever live it down. Either hire more writers or allot more time to come up with something for them, but don't lower the quality of something for something else (By this I mean don't lower the quality of Raw for example in order for them to have more time for the FCW guys instead of having all of the time needed to write the shows).

Smart move by HHH. It takes time for a new wrestler to get over. Their is no reason for new talent to debut when creative isn't 100% ready and behind them. Or then you get something like Jinder Mahal, where it seems like they are unsure if they want to push him or not.

I think Ambrose will make his debut after WM. They just debuted Broadus Clay new gimmick, Jericho is back, Orton and Christian are coming back too. The massive hype for Rock/Cena will begin soon. He will just get buried right now imo.

Since everyone here agrees with the decision, I'll take the opposite view - bringing the FCW guys up to the main roster is a benefit in itself.

Behind the scenes, the FCW guys get to bond with main stars and get their valuable insight on their characters and in-ring abilities. They learn so much more just going to events and being in dark matches. Its true that they shouldn't be on TV without a proper gimmick (or a reasonable one), but they should be brought up to the main roster. Its like when baseball expands the rosters near the end of the season, or when the academy players get called up at the end of the season in soccer - the experience of just being there is invaluable.

Also, according to Dave Lagana, CM Punk didn't have a good gimmick when he debuted and Creative didn't want to give him one - until Shawn Michaels came to a Creative meeting and asked them why they don't fix what they find wrong with Punk. You never know what's going on with Creative, and you never know if they want to bury the new kids (Punk) or push them through the roof (Cena).

There aren't too many wrestlers who debuted with a quality gimmick. Daniel Bryan didn't. Randy Orton didn't. Hell, even Hunter Hurst Helmsley was a shitty gimmick. The point is to get them in the door and the gimmick will eventually happen (mostly luck in my opinion).

Tl;dr - bring the kids up for dark matches.

in my opinion this is a good but obvious idea they shouldve done it a long time ago but still a good idea and i think as long as triple h can keep his ego in check he might actually do a good job running the company and also since ive followed their careers i believe if theyre both given the right strong gimmick they could help strengthen the roster and company. theyre that talented.
