Tough Enough should have been on Fridays

I just wanted to see if anyone else agrees but I feel that WWE should have put Tough Enough on Friday to help out Smackdown with the ratings. Granted Raw is the main show and it gets alot of people to watch it. Smackdown is the B show and I feel to help the ratings Tough Enough should be before Smackdown, that way right after Tough Enough you got smackdown and everything is good.

Well, to be honest with you, WWE don't really get to decide. USA had a lot to do with the production of the series. Basically, it was their choice.

While I see your point of rising Smackdown ratings, it probably would have buried Tough Enough's ratings. Monday is prime time, Friday? Not so much.

The reason Smackdowns rating are bad is because its on fridays. tough enought being before smackdown would hardly help either.

I have to watch smackdown during raw and then raw some other night i have free time because im not around on fridays and weekends. No one i know watches smackdown the time it comes on or even at all anymore do to it being on fridays.

The ratings have gotten worse and worse each week so imagine if TE was on a Friday? Ouch I don't even want to know what the ratings would be in the third week.

I see your point but it's not really up to WWE. From everything I've read USA approached WWE to bring back Tough Enough. They also pick up most if not all the cost. WWE didn't even choose the contestants if I'm not mistaken. So they wouldn't be able to change nights much less networks if they wanted. Even if they could I doubt they would. If people aren't watching two hours of wrestling on Fridays. Why would they think people would watch three?

Smackdowns lack of ratings has a lot to do with being on Friday and being on a network that's not in as many homes as USA. It doesn't make sense to me to put Tough Enough on before or after the lower rated show. It's on the same night as Raw in the hopes to get it ratings. Raw is the proven ratings getter not Tough Enough. If it was on Fridays it would get way less ratings and wouldn't help Smackdown.

If Tough Enough was on Fridays then I think their rating would be much lower. Just look at Smackdown's ratings. They're good but aren't as good as they could be.

Friday is the beginning of the weekend and when a lot of young people like to go out because there is no school the next day so they can stay out longer since they don't have to worry about studying for an exam the next day or anything like that. So with a huge amount of WWE's audience being out and about, the ratings go down since they aren't at home watching any of their programming such as Tough Enough.

A) Shows on Friday at 7PM (to get in before smackdown) is a horrible horrible lead in.... That timing is just gross.....

B) As mentioned USA network helped restart tough enough, therefore they'd be running it on USA at 7 PM to tell people then to switch to SCI FI to catch smackdown... again stupid..

C) Raw is continually one of the highest (if not the highest) rated shows on cable, so why not run it before hand (especially since Mondays at 8 is a perfect prime time)

Running it on fridays would have killed any ratings that it originally had..

i think your initial assumption is wrong... TE isn't helping Raw gain ratings but rather Raw is helping TE get its ratings. Putting it before smackdown will only reduce the viewers of TE, which is too bad bc it's pretty damn good. Plus it's USA's show more than wwe's, they wanted it and brought it back so it couldn't be on before smackdown anyways.

Maybe I'm wrong, but if a network hopes to garner ratings for a show by piggybacking it off of another, the lead in show would have to be more successful. For instance, whenever Comedy Central premiers a new show, a lot of the time to put it on after South Park in hopes that some of the millions of viewers that watch South Park will stick around after it ends. While some shows fail miserably(Chocolate News,) some actually stick around for a while(Reno 911.)

Putting Tough Enough on Fridays before Smackdown(which wouldn't even be in a Prime Time slot by the way) wouldn't help TE's ratings at all. That's like suggesting that somehow since Tough Enough airs before Raw it helps their ratings. I highly doubt that it does.

I think Tough Enough should have been on Wed. Then wwe would have control over wrestling for the weekdays. RAW NXT TE SUPERSTARS SMACKDOWN seems like a pretty sweet lineup.

I agree with redmethod09878...it should air on Wednesday...it just makes more sense...but WWE probably got a 2 for 1 deal off USA for airing Tough enough right after RAW....plus Friday is too close to the weekend, people will be going out. Smackdown is one of those shows people record....it's not a must see like RAW so I guess ratings wise...tough enough has a better chance of being seen after raw.

Putting it on friday would have been a bad idea. They promoted it alongside Raw for a reason, to get Tough Enough better ratings. The opposite would have happened if they did it friday with Smackdown because not as many people watch Smackdown. It would cause less people to watch Tough Enough, rather than benefitting Smackdown in any significant way, so it is better for it to have happened the way it did because it helped Tough Enough to follow Raw in its first episode and to air right before it in the other episodes.
