I've got more Ho's than Jim Duggan
It's that time of year again... with Final Resolution in the books it is time to look back on 2012 and determine which was the year's best match.

I'm gonna go with the main event from Destination-X. This was an excellently worked match that culminated with what I feel was TNA's best moment of the year, Austin Aries becoming World Champion after relinquishing his X-division title to earn the chance. It also put a nice bow on the "option-c" scenario that Aries pitched to Hogan, which should help to insure an increase in the X-division title's relevance for atleast a portion of each year. I rate this match at 4.5 stars.

My closest honorable mentions would be the Tag Title match from Slammiversary, and the AJ/Angle match from Sacrifice. I saw both of these matches as 4.25 star affairs.

I enjoyed Aries becoming the World Heavyweight Champion as I did the match in its entirety, but I feel the match itself doesn't compete with a good number of other matches to have occurred throughout 2012. Whether they be on television or pay-per-view. Great moment though.

My favorite match of the year and the one I feel was the best - at least as singles matches pertain - was AJ Styles versus Christopher Daniels from Destination X. People were moaning, whining and complaining in the live discussions in the build-up how they were tired of Styles versus Daniels, that we've seen it and they can't do anything new - yet they ended up blowing just about everybody completely out of the water. It was unlike any match they'd had previously, physicality levels were increased, the story of Styles trying desperately to not only defend his name but get revenge was evident, and it all came together with that great final Styles Clash off the stage through the table.

If not this then I'd consider the Slammiversary tag team title match a worthy victor, but Aries versus Roode concluded with a great moment, not a "mind blowing" match.
