Title Match Announced For 2-3-14 Raw

According to PWTorch.com, the first match that's being advertised for this Monday's Raw will feature The New Age Outlaws defending the WWE Tag Team Championship against Cody Rhodes & Goldust inside of a steel cage. As everyone knows, the rematch this past Monday was thrown out due to Brock Lesnar coming out of nowhere and nailing both Cody & Goldie with an F5.

Should be a fun match and, in all honesty, I think the real reason they're doing this inside a steel cage, as it's not really able to keep anybody out if they really want in, is so Cody Rhodes can do a moonsault off the top of the cage, which is something he's done a few times during tag title cage matches at house shows.

I think this STEEL CAGE match is setup for splitting up the brotherhood.. CODY may turn heel after the match and beat the hell out of GOLDUST thus starting of their fued and buildup for WRESTLEMANIA 30.

I'm still confused about two things: Why Cody & Goldust have had such an unsuccessful reign (in terms of winning matches) as tag team champions, and what the purpose is of having the Old Age Outlaws around at all, much less giving them a title run.

As to the latter, if it's just for nostalgia....then fine, I guess. Road Dogg & Mr. Ass move around the ring better than I thought they would, and it is nice to see them again. On the other hand, I keep thinking it cheapens the worth of the tag division to have a couple of 50-year-olds as titleholders. Even worse, that this last fact doesn't even particularly matter speaks volumes as well, right?

I don't know what they've been doing with the Brothers Rhodes. It seems they've lost more matches than they've won, and most of those contests have been non-title affairs, so they'd continue to lose and still retain the belts. Weird.

If WWE is about to split the brothers, then fine.....that would be a reason for them to lose this title match on Raw. Perhaps the break will come at the conclusion of this match. But if the Outlaws are about finished in their limited run with the company, they'll probably drop the belts and not be seen again until.......?

Can't call this one.

Seems like a simple set up. Cody and Goldust have them beat but Cody wants to do a moonsault of the top of the cage. He ends up doing it after Goldust begs him not to. He does anyway and it cost them the match.

As much as I like Cody and Goldust as a tag team, I think a Brother vs Brother match at Wrestlemania would fit in quite well in the undercard of the event. Both are excellent in-ring story tellers, and could put together one hell of a storyline feud. I think with the supposed departure of CM Punk, this opens up a spot for a main event face. I believe that while they're building Roman Reigns up as a singles competitor, Cody Rhodes or Goldust will hold one of those top face spots. I'm in favor of Cody.

I want to see Cody Rhodes eventually come on top, along with Antonio Cezaro, Roman Reigns, Ryback, Alberto Del Rio, Daniel Bryan, Jack Swagger, The Miz, and maybe even Goldust, but I think Goldust is done when his possible feud with Cody is over.

I wish title matches were defended on all shows regardless of who wins and loses. It makes the titles seem more credible and valuable. Anyways, I'm fine with the Middle-Aged Outlaws to be champions. It's not like they're going to hold them past WrestleMania. Steel Cage matches are fun to watch too. As for the match itself for Monday, I think the Middle Aged Outlaws pick up the win. A little while afterwards Cody goes to the top and hits a moonsault on either Road Dogg or Billy Gunn. Should be fun to be honest.

Should be a fun match. Maybe there are shenanigans, maybe not. Maybe a moonsault.

I don't mind the Outlaws as tag champs, I think it fuels into the HHH storyline (and is why I think Punk leaving is a work). I can see a roster uprising vs Authority of sorts.

I don't see the Rhode's breaking up and wrestling at Mania. I wouldn't mind it though.
