tips for smackdown in 2007

okie dokie so this is my first thread ever so i tought id start with a relatively tame posting on who i think should shine in 2007.

who will be in the world heavyweght title race?

batista is just a given. right now he is the top seed on that roster and his push isnt looking likely to stop anytime soon. i dont see him holding onto it for the whole year like last time as i see he has too many challengers for him to topple them all.
mr kennedy- this man is almost guaranteed to win the title by years end, they are starting to really push him as the top heel on smackdown, he has got the talent for sure and he put over a good rivalry with taker which for relatively fresh talent is a hard thing to do,
kane- honestly this man deserves the title. for years he has been in the storylines which actually strike chords with fans, we all loved his feud with shane, taker i need say no more, the angle involving lita was pure gold and he gave some pretty good matches against edge, snitsky and even matt hardy. kane would never of won the title on raw but if he doesnt win it on smackdown that is a kick in the teeth to a man who has put in years of hard service to this industry,
taker will fight for but never win it due to his partime schedule
booker- he wont win it anytime soon. kennedy is the top heel now he was just transitional heel
benoit- probably will be given another title shot sooner or later i actually think him and batista could steal the show at wrestlemenia but that i dont see happening.


us championship

matt hardy and gregory helms are both starting to real push into this level and as kennedy maybe finlay graduate into the heavywieght title level this might be hardy and helms great opportunity.tip mercury to come back into later in year to start massive feud with hardy. mvp may dominate this feild. he isnt ready for facing off with batista etc but he has recieved a major push worthy of us title runs look out for him in 07.

tag teamtitle- unless new tagteams form expect it to be constant matches between taylor-regal, kendrik-london.

cruiserweights- dead set year of the wang.

dropping off the radar- i think the miz will have his last hooorah in the wwe by years end isnt being pushed enough neither is he being liked enough. hes like the class clown no one found funny.
chavo- im sorry at some point 'the guererro name' fights will stop and then whats he left with
teddy long- tick tock his gm run is over.

look out for

kane-reasons above
jbl if he doesnt return to the ring make him a gm. smackdown would rock with him there.
mark henry- he will be back and he will win the world title probably about summerslam the final(ly) showdown with batista.

In my opinion the tag division could be great if they used it right.
Taylor & Regal, Londrick, La Resistance and B.O.D are all awesome tag teams who could make the tag division great again.

If the brothers are really back I would not want to see them feuding with the likes of the other smackdown teams. I just can't see myself going "will they give the brothers a run?" But the brothers are Undertaker and Kane, can you really look at the other tag teams and say that they can put up a fight without asking the Brothers to stoop down?

i agree with u SyStem. i think the wwe will contnue to push taker and kne as a tagteam randomly throughout the year but when the show is so starved of top talent ready to take on mainevent status to limit taker and kane to mainly tag team competition would be negative in building the show up. I think they have put kane vs taker to rest for at least the short term future but they wont be a key tagg team this year.

well in response rob conway will return after hey stays in OVW for a while then la resistance will possibly return on SD! this year so as the gymini then a tag team with a valet will debut on SD soon

I hope they make the Crossover match the Brothers of Destruction vs Kahli and Umaga both didn't get to finish with each other a grudge match interpromotional cross over. as for what smackdown needs to do it's hard to say overa whole year anything can happen you could get a great up and comer like Lashly was and he would have to be put in the spot could see the return of Jericho or maybe a TNA Star will come in and play a part maybe a big ROH name ? who knows I just say take it week by week and do your best to work with what you have rather than plan out a whole years worth of could have happened.

I understand Taker, Kane, Kennedy, and Benoit are worthy of the titles because they are one of the best superstars to date. But 1 problem, why Mark Henry? He doesn't deserve anything! He should just skip on over to TNA.

Just a couple of things I would do to help the Tag Team Division,.and the roster

I would go out of my way to sign the Briscoes from ROH.

I would send Rob Conway and Val Venis over to Smackdown as a Tag Team. Jillian Hall would be there manager. (that Is unless she gets her wish to go to Raw, If that Happens, I would bring Trinity over from ECW, and make her there manager.) I just think they have similar styles and gimmicks, and would be a great addition to the Tag teams Ranks.


I would also Put The Miz and Joey Mercury Together as a Tag team. Mercury has always been a Tag team specialist, and The Miz would do better in a Tag team Enviroment. Kristal would be there manager.


I would keep Kane and Taker seperate, and only use them as a speacial attraction Tag team.


Umaga would come over as a main event Heel. I have always thought his monster gimmick would work much better on Smackdown facing the likes of Undertaker,Batista,Finley.

Vito,Tatanka,Michelle McCool,Mark Henry and Michale Cole would all be out of a job.

Ashley will by the skin of her neck keep her job, just to further the eventual breakup of London\Kendrick, who will steal the show with a Ladder Match at Summerslam.

Tazz would be brought back to Smackdown along side JBL.

Boogeyman would turn Heel. and stop with the fucking Worms. GROSS.

Super Crazy would come back to smackdown, and I would push the hell out of JAIME KNOBLE. The cruserweight division would actualy be used.


Undertaker would be World Champion After Wrestlemania, and will feud with the likes of Umaga,Heel Batista,Finley, and a Heel Chris Benoit(The Crippler Gimmick would make a return.)

Finley will turn face and still like to FIGHT. He will go into Summerslam feuding with (Heel) Chris Benoit.

Matt Hardy will get a push.

I really like ideas mamasgun put up. But I disagree with a few things...A heel Benoit would never work..Heel or face he is always so over with the fans either way. Then Tazz and JBL at the same announce table? Noope... Both are color commentary guys you need a play by play guy... I agree with getting ready of Michael Cole, but I think since SmackDown is more of the pure wrestling show on WWE's lineup I think it would be cool if they brought in like Tony Schivone from WCW... He had some great commentary and he would work will on SmackDown with JBL. Besides that I think Boogeyman should be gone, that gimmick worked 15 yrs ago when it was called PAPA SHANGO! But other then that great ideas

I mean get a Storyline in which you have Teddy Long kill Smackdown and then have Vince Mcmahon bring Smackdown back with a new Logo and a new set a new Ring and a new Style! lol

The thing with Batista is that he is pushing 40, so he will most likely fall out of the title picture in a year or two. Now Mr Kennedy thats the future of Smackdown!

wrestlemania will be the time for smackdown because undertaker will beat kennedy or batista for the world heavyweight championship and then undertaker will lose the title and retire and be inducted to the 2008 hall of fame

They need to go with the saying out with the old, in with the new. We don't want to see the same old boring superstar retaining his championship belt. Smackdown superstars need more personallity. We want to see someone new who is unique to the wrestling buisness win the title. It's definatly time for a change thats for sure. We don't want to see some old farts punching each other out until the other one pins the other. Old superstars could be more interesting if they went with a whole new gimmick. Then again there are some old superstars who have tried that and it has gone downhill. We want to see superstars battling for championships, instead of keeping the title for the next 8 months. It gets boring. To spice up smackdown a bit more, maybe it needs to chase down raw superstars such as HBK and Triple H to sign with smackdown. I have nothing agaisnt Batista or anything, cause no doubt he is one of the best superstars smackdown has, But maybe give Batista a break from the title, and let someone like Mr. Kennedy win at the Royal Rumble. I know Mr. Kennedy isn't the most popular superstar, but the fans would want to see him in a feud with another superstar, who is looking for the World Heavyweight title around his waist. Smackdown definately needs major improvment.

SD is doing good, only thing is the issue with few tag teams and few Cruiserweights... They still have a ton of Cruiserweights in the company & even on SD:
-Helms
-London (in tag team which SHOULD NOT break up)
-Kendrick (see London)
-Noble
-Jimmy Wang Yang
-Funaki (past his time)
-Scotty 2 Hotty (past his time)
-Chavo Guerrero (push beyond CW Division)
-Rey Mysterio (had him but now he's injured & was beyond CW Title anyway)
PLUS, on ECW & Raw they have:
-Super Crazy
-Little Guido Maratato
-Tony Mamaluke
-Danny Doring
-Shannon Moore
-Daivari (potential spoiler) --->***(I heard he's going 2 SD)***
(I may be missing some)

WWE just doesn't care about SD's CW Division and that's a problem... The problem I'd fix... I'd send Super Crazy & Shannon Moore to SD. I'd THINK about sending the FBI to SD as well. Guido & Mamaluke are a tag team & they're both CW's. That would really help SD. They are ECW originals so I feel they should be on ECW, but I'd send em' 2 SD. They're barely used on ECW! On SD they can be a tag team & possible CW Title contenders.

I disagree with those of you who say that mark henry is undeserving. True his wrestling stills are questionable but he is getting better. Plus Henry is without a doubt the strongest person in wwe right now and has the the greatest potenial for brute force out of anyone, past or present in wwe and I dare anyone to find anyone stronger than mark henry who worked for wwe.

True he sucks as a wrestler, but he is improving, but give him his due credit, because I think wwe finally is. I could see him easily as US champion or even WHC if his cards are played right.

Plus mark has never taken steriods in his life unlike some others in wwe *cough* bastista *cough* lashley *cough* *cough* chris masters

undertaker kane and batista headling wrestlemania for the title would be awesome watch out for hardy in the us division

batista vs kennedy vs kane (world heavyweight championship)
benoit vs mvp (us championship)
london and kendrink vs regal and taylor
and undertaker vs someone who wants to try to defeat undertaker at wrestlemania and put his name in the history book and they should form a rivary better if it was cross band all the way till summerslam

Mamasgun I have to agree with you, I would push Jamie Noble and Super Crazy along with others to enhance the Cruiserweight Division.

Also, JBL as a general manager would bring back the infamous "heel over face" thing. It's nice to see a face GM while we have Jonathan "Trashman" Coachman as the heel authority figure.

Kane and Undertaker should be top contenders this year. They generate heat from fans and give us good matches.

1. Find a way to turn Booker T back to babyface, he's a bad heel. Fued with Finley
2. Get JBL back in storylines in some role, the show realy misses him.
3. Turn Batista Heel, fued with Kennedy or Kane
4. Move Carlito over as a heel. Fued with Booker or Mysterio.
5. Reunite Hardy's, top tag team on Smackdown.
6. Give Kane a world title run.
7. wait patently for Mark Henry to return (LOL)
