Tina Fey

This woman is everywhere anymore. She was on Jimmy Fallon last night, she was on the Tonight Show last week, her SNL reruns still air, and she's the star of one of the best comedies on tv right now. She's brilliant, funny, and to me at least, insanely beautiful. Her movies do relatively well at the box office and you rarely if ever hear a bad thing about her. My question: is Tina Fey the biggest star in entertainment right now?

I'd think if she's not she's very high up on the list. Based on all of those things I listed off, what's missing for her right now? She's won emmys for her writing, her show is popular, she's definitely on the A-list and she's rarely talked badly about. To me, she very well may be the biggest star there is at the moment.

Tina Fey is brilliant and is really making a name for herself. The girl is a role model unlike other TV/Movies/entertainement stars. She is a great actress on a popular show(30 Rock)which she has one back to back emmy's. Her movie career is doing good(her last movie Baby Mama debut at #1). And she is very funny and seems like a legit funny person unlike some who come off over the top funny(Carey/Stiller/Ferrel, ect)

She got alot of press from the SNL/Palin thing but she sure has went beyond that. And not only is she a role model/good actress, she is also an amazing writer/producer. She was a head writer on SNL, 30 Rock, and she wrote Mean Girls. She really is as very rare talent and I think the sky's the limit. It doesn't hurt that she's pretty and also seems strangely relateable. She is defeintly the "it" girl on TV right now and I think once 30 Rock ends she will be a force in the movie business as well.

Yeah but see to me, I think that's the ONLY reason she's popular right now. Before her Palin stuff, SNL was considered shit and pretty much all of Fey's movies, with the exception of Mean Girls, were considered shit. However, she does this impression of someone everyone in the media hates, and all of the sudden she's God's gift to entertainment. Blows my mind.

Anyway, I have nothing against Tiny Fey. I thought she was quite funny and adorable during all her acceptance speeches she gave when 30 Rock won about a dozen awards this year. But I still don't understand how one little impression could make someone this popular. I understand that 30 Rock is a good show (I haven't had a chance to check it out yet), but I'm sure it was a good show last year/2006 as well, but it didn't start getting all its praised until Fey started her Palin impersonation it seems. To me, that's just kind of bullshit.

It'll most likely take Fey to release some mind-blowing, hilarious motion picture before I buy into her hype. Until then, I like her, but I don't think she's anything special.
