Dark Match Winner
So I've been thinking about this for the past few days, and I was curious what other people thought about the topic. The topic is about WWE doing the same things every year, I guess TNA can do it too, but I don't know as much about TNA as I do WWE. And what I mean about the same things happening, is more directed towards stuff happening at the beginning of the year. January has the Royal Rumble, No Way Out has the Elimination Chamber and Wrestlemania has money in the bank.
So dating back to the late 80's WWE has held the Royal Rumble every year. Now towards the beginning nothing came out of it, besides for the winner winning a big battle royal. Now every year the winner gets a shot at a World Championship of their choosing. I personally enjoy the Rumble still, although its not perfect. But I know of quite a few people who aren't big on a championship match being rewarded from this match. Then another thing is the trend of faces winning this match. There are even threads here about faces winning it too much, and its time to switch it up and give a heel a chance to win.
Now starting at this past No Way Out, Elimination Chamber matches were used to determine the number one contenders for the World Championships. And I have no idea how long this will continue, but I know that there is already plans for this to happen again in 2009. I liked the idea of the chamber match at the last N.W.O, but this is something that I don't think I'd want happening every single year to pick a contender or contenders.
Then since 2005 at Wrestlemania, there has been the Money In The Bank ladder match where the winner gets a title shot any time over the next 12 months. Again this started out as a good idea and I think it could still work in the future, but so far there has been 4 money in the bank matches, and every year we have seen the winner cash it in and win the title, with the exception of Kennedy who had to drop it to Edge when he got injured. I wouldn't mind seeing a Money In The Bank winner not be able to win the title, at least at first. Maybe whoever has it could lose the title match, starting a feud for the title and at the end of the feud he could end up winning it. The Money In The Bank can still make for interesting moments, mainly Edges first win and CM Punk this year, but it could get stale with the guy always winning the belt.
I personally am just not very big on some of the same events like this taking place at the same time every year. So I just wanted to know what other people thought, agree or disagree.
