Time for a Karen Angle return and a Jarrett vs Angle feud

Ambiguous Turd

Mid-Card Championship Winner
Yes, enough time has gone by, and even though it was just recently reported that a Jeff Jarrett vs Kurt Angle feud involving Karen was nixed back in December, I feel that this would make an outstanding program on Impact.

You want to talk about a compelling program for Impact .... you have one of the original founders of the organization feuding with one of wrestling greatest talents over one of wrestling's best actresses.

Certainly, bad feelings can be placed aside for the benefit of doing what is right for the company, and everyone making money all around for their efforts, don't you think?

To be frank, this could very well be Jeff Jarrett's highest profile feud to date. It is also a great way to keep him in the spotlight as an original founder of TNA, even though he has never had much success with getting over during the years as anything but a midcarder.

I just personally feel that Kurt and Jeff, along with Karen, are all professional enough to make this work, and would produce some outstanding television given who is involved.

1) Do you feel that this feud would make for great TV and would be a benefit for the company?

2) Do you feel there is a place on the TNA roster for Karen Angle, once again?

As of right now Sid, no, I don't.

As compelling of a story line as that was (operative word here), I just think too much time has passed to really cash in on the payoff there. TNA hinted at it for a while when Jarrett begged for his job back (back when Angle was still a clear-cut heel) by having him apologize to Angle (who blew him off at the time), but IMO they kind of dropped the ball there.

I always thought Karen was a fantastic "Elizabeth type" who could be the perfect catalyst for a jealousy angle (no pun intended), and as much as I'd like to see her back in TNA (especially because she's such a pleasant piece of eye candy) I just don't see any immediate spot for her. Angle and Anderson very recently set the foundation for what feels like a helluva feud, and I'd hate to feed the WWE marks who criticize TNA's writing and story lines by bailing on that potential to attempt a resurrection feud with JJ/Angle.

Absolutely 100% disagree with you here Sid, and for one main reason---this is the LAST fucking thing that Kurt Angle needs right now. The man CLEARLY has been going through a really, really tough time for the last year, you could tell the promo he cut last week was about as real and raw as he's ever been in his life, those tears were real I think. Throwing his ex-wife in his face in an angle while he's still dealing with drug issues, divorce issues, custody issues and other troubles is the last damn thing that man needs.

Would it be a compelling storyline? Sure man, it would be incredibly interesting. But you're just being selfish if you want to see this right now, you care more about how Angle's personal life can entertain you then letting the man move on with his life so he doesn't end up like so many other great wrestlers, drug addicted, broke, friendless, and/or dead and mentally/physically destroyed.

Absolutely 100% no on this one Sid. This would just be absolutely cruel to Kurt. I care more about Angle making it to 50 then having an entertaining angle for a few months.

I agree with Sid. TNA should go for it on this one. Although I was not watching at the time and only saw bits and pieces in different DVDs, the Matt/Lita/Edge triangle is still talked about today. Heck, even Michelle McCool and Layla teased Matt just last week about not being able to keep a relationship going. What about Kevin Sullivan being so committed to the business that he, Nancy and Chris Benoit ended up with life imitating the triangle they played out on tv?

No, it's not too late for this as I understand Karen has started showing up at house shows and the Impact Zone with Jeff. As long as Jeff and Kurt are both working for TNA, we can continue to bring this up and use it as a storyline. This would work perfect with the "serious" Kurt we're been seeing in promos for the past couple of months. Wouldn't you just love to see the beginning of the feud? Jeff and Karen are walking through the halls of the Impact Zone and walk right into Kurt? I think it would be fantastic. It should also allow the writing staff to give their brains a break.

My only question is this: How should this feud end?

1.) No. Jeff Jarrett is only over for one reason, and one reason only: because he "founded" TNA. Because without TNA, you'd be reduced to watching WWE, and I know now how batshit that would drive you. Other than this one fact, Jeff Jarrett has never drawn a dime in his life. Back in the TNA glory days, the only thing that I really had a problem with TNA at that time, was that "The King of the Mountain" kept trying to put himself over.

Now, I'll give Jeff this: As the "authority figure" in TNA, not wrestling and just talking and being a real person vs. being "Double J", I thought Jeff was doing some of his finest work he's ever done. I was buying into that big time. And of course, TNA screwed that up....now he's gotta answer to Dixie, Hulk, and Eric, and he's just a joke again. What are they doing with him anyways? This whole working from the bottom with no entrance music and what not....where is that going to lead to? The answer? Nowhere.

And as far as being the founder of TNA and having this great vision, I think that is overrated. Again, the fans don't love him for founding TNA, they love him for giving them something other than WWE, even if it is now garbage.

As far as Jeff wrestling Kurt, Kurt deserves better feuds and to wrestle better guys. Kurt versus Desmond Wolfe...I'll buy that. Kurt vs. Sting? I'll buy that too. Kurt vs. Samoa Joe? Absolutely am buying that. But not Jeff Jarrett. Even if they have real life heat.

Kurt, from what I understand, shouldn't be wrestling at all, the shape he's in. But TNA needs him. Bad. Cause they're not that good! I feel sorry for him.

2.) Telling me that I should care about Karen Angle and that she brings more to the table than half the workers in WWE totally destroys your credibility and your argument that TNA is so much more interesting and miles above the WWE. We're talking about KAREN ANGLE? WHO CARES!!!!! Karen's a great actress? Give me a break!!!!!

So to answer your question....no.

yeah, aint happening. Two reasons: 1 he is feuding with Anderson if you have been watching lately. And I do hope he beats the living hell out of him btw. 2. He needs a break from wrestling to recover from his injuries. Just that simple. After that who knows what could happen. can't wait to hear what Sting makes of the whole Bischoff/Hogan era...

I would love to see this angle. I would love to see Karen Angle in that dress and all the other sexy shit she did. But Kurt doesn't deserve that. He doesn't need it. He's been through so much for wrestling. He's a lot better of a man then most too. If I lost Karen (I wouldn't let that happen because legally he doesn't have to grant the devorce.) I would have killed him (Jeff). I think Karen is the second most beutiful girl in the world. So to let that go... Kurts a real man. So while I would love to see it, they should either wait or just not do it.

No. Angle is entering a fued with Anderson, and they're trying to give Jarrett a long term babyface buildup. Reminding everyone that JJ fucked Angle's wife isn't gonna exactly help his getting over as a face.

And as was said, Kurt genuinely had a tough year, I can't imagine him wanting to go through with it right now. Maybe in 6 months time.

No way at the moment. Jeffs still caught in the "rising up the ladder" thing hes got going on and Kurts doing his thing with Mr Anderson. In a few months, yea they should pull the trigger on it... but at the same time in a few months people might not care enough as they do now.

Also Kurt, the things he does for TNA, the passion he has for the company, working with injuries all over, giving 200% everytime, really does not deserve to be reminded of his failure in marriage like that.

Angle versus Jarrett can happen somewhere down the line.

I think a much more likely course of action to happen will be Mr. Anderson taking out Angle on the live Impact! and then giving Kurt some time to heal up because he is banged up right now.

Then Kurt can come back and screw Anderson at Lockdown with a clearer head and healthier body and give us a really strong payoff to their feud. But only once Angle has had some time off and concluded this enjoyable run with Anderson should it even be considered.

And frankly, there are a lot more talented wrestlers in TNA for Angle to feud with than Jeff friggin Jarrett, who is only over because he founded TNA, not because of anything he's ever done. The only time he was a Main Eventer during the wars was when WCW was on its downswing. I think he's a much more legitimate person for someone like Desmond Wolfe to feud with over the Global Title, a feud that elevates a young guy while making JJ look relevant, then he ever will be fighting Kurt for the 10th time.

It would be compelling and awesome to see, but I think it would be a little too personal and uncomfortable. I felt pretty uncomfortable seeing Jarrett apologize to Angle on Impact a few months ago, I could hardly imagine what Jarrett and Karen would be like.

Jarrett could be a great heel along with Karen, but I think it would ruin everyone's relationship backstage. It could ruin Jarrett/Angle and Angle could be even more alienated from his wife. It could probably even ruin Jarret and Karen's relationship if they are still having one. It's one of those angles that looks great on paper, but would cause more harm then good in the long run.

It isn't time for it but its such a good idea to run the feud.

I for one don't like such personal and deep issues portrayed in the spotlight because you will remember how uncomfortable it was for Lita to have to do it. I mean its their personal lives, why should we have to know about it. If I was in the same position, I would be like mind your own business.

But like it was said, this time has past as if they do it after the Anderson/Angle feud, most people might have forgotten about it or moved on.
