Tim Shaw appreciation thread

He's a comedian. I thought it was quite amusing. wouldn't rate him as the top I've ever heard, but still made me laugh...especially the last prank call where the guy decided it was his friend pretending to be a woman

This doesn't need to be stickied. Unless of course some of us randomly start making Sports threads in the bar room, that you'd like to sticky too, Luther???

And yes Becca, you're over this section. You can UNsticky it.

I know I'm allowed, I just had no idea how to lol. I worked it out anyway. Then he stickied it again.

More abusing of powers Luther? Weren't you demodded, TWICE, for this? Perhaps you're trying to figure out how many times you can push it before the demodding stays perminate?

i'm going to make a Ben Roethlisberger Appreciation thread and do nothing because i dont i dont i dont have any powers.

Fo sho- I appreciate his ability to elude the rush.

I appreciate his ability to make passes on the run.

I appreciate his ability to win 6 games in a row plus 3 playoff games and a SB.

I appreciate his ability to be someone important on a team full of lack luster talent.

I appreciate his ability to overcome that horrible season, two years ago.

I appreciate his strong will to wear those mustard looking uni's.

lack lastuer talent?

rofl..

Will have to good RB's.

3 solid receivers. Two good receiving TE's and we got Casey Hampton. :worship:

You're A Carolina Panther fan, what do you know, the only thing ya'll have is Steve Smith and Stewart, and Otah.

:eek2: Oh, the official Car. Panther v. Pit. Steeler thread war is ON!

Carolina has the following great athletes.

Jake Delhomme at QB, followed by Matt Moore who is a solid back-up after his showing last season.

DeAngelo Williams, who'll be a two headed monster with Stewart.

Our WR core is the deepest its been since our SuperBowl run. Steve Smith, Muhsin Muhammad, and D.J. Hackett will be great for Delhomme to spread the ball, and for Smith to no longer deal with 2-3 man coverages.

Jeff King is at TE, and while he isn't the best, he has great hands and will be a solid 4th option which won't be covered with the above named 3 WRs.

At Defense, we have a new front four, which originally thought wasn't going to be great is now quite good. Peppers will lead them, hopefully with a resurgence.

We have a GREAT LB core, with Thomas, Diggs, Johnson, Beason & newly drafted Connor.

Lucas, Gamble and Marshall will be great at CB, and Harris is a great addition at Safety.

I'd say thats a bit more than Steve Smith.

Muhammed is washed up. Hackett is a nobody. Delhomme is injury prone and isnt destined for anything.

Deangelo Williams is a big meh.

Peppers is the only thing good on that defense. Gamble never progressed like he was suppose to. I believe Lucas is too old.

All and all they're talented but have no depth.

So i stand corrected. offensively you only have Smith, Stewart and Otah.

Muhammed is washed up.

I don't give a shit if the guy is 40, he was brought in because of having great hands. If he runs 10 feet down field and gets winded, as long as he turns around, leaps and catches.. its a first down. All I care about.

Hackett is a nobody.

Hackett has Carter like speed and better hands. Its an upgrade from where we were last year, so you can't dispute that. Muhammad & Hackett might be old and unknown, but they're better than Kolbert & Carter from a year ago.

Delhomme is injury prone and isnt destined for anything.

I'm comfortable with Matt Moore after the end of last year. And all reports point to Delhomme being okay from surgery. We'll see in the pre-season/beginning of regular season.. but if Delhomme stays healthy this year, and our WR core is solid without injuries. I see the playoffs at the very least in our future.

Deangelo Williams is a big meh.

I agree with this, only because we don't have a proper line to form any type of running game. Hopefully the stacked WR core will help our running game open up this year.

Peppers is the only thing good on that defense.

Sadly, Peppers was horrible last year. Hopefully if he moves to the opposite side this year he'll be better. And Beason was solid last year, no reason to think he hasn't improved from his rookie year. Connor has been raved about at being a proven starter if needbe.

Gamble never progressed like he was suppose to.

Gamble is still talented. Maybe not as good as everyone thought he'd be, but hes still talented.

I believe Lucas is too old.

Again, old or not, he makes plays. He was good during last year's misery.

So i stand corrected. offensively you only have Smith, Stewart and Otah.

I've pointed out several high points in our entire team. Unlike your aging WR in Ward.. Big Ben is good at his position and will be the future for that team, barring any motorcycle rides. Ward has one, maybe two more years in him to be a #2 at best.

Parker is coming off an injury, and Mendenhall (to me) was who I wanted Carolina to take.. so I got nothing back to say about him.

Ward still has the body to play Slot. Stokley or Welker type of Body. That was his position when he first entered the NFL. If you look past Ward there is Still Holmes and now Limas Sweed who is first round talent, and could be the best receiver out of this draft plus they have their two tight ends.

Peppers was bad because he was getting double teamed and sometimes triple teamed because no one else on that line was a pass rushing threat.

Age finally catches up to people like Lucas, and Muhammed.

Besides Ward fuels off of getting pushed aside and adversity so he still has several more years at being a legit NFL receiver.
