Throw It All Away?

Anything Can Happen
Ok, just consider this for a second. Ask yourself, why do you hate TNA? Why do you hate it? It it because TNA likes to use older superstars to try and make things work? Is it because they have no consistency in their story lines? Maybe, it's just because the story-lines make no type of since. :banghead: Well I have a possible solution. What if we could all start over? We can literally restart TNA! And not by Giving TNA a corny new nickname (Impact Wrestling) not by giving it new bosses (Eric and Hogan). But by literally starting over. Is it possible? Well...

I have a plan to do it. It all starts with Eric Bischoff. I start by having him call out the entire roster. He cuts a 15 minuet promo, about how he's sick of all the chaos. How he's sick of the network yelling at him, how he's sick of wrestler threatening him, and how he could care less about all of it. He then finishes the promo by explaing that it all ends at the next PPV. He says all the feuds End at the next PPV and he's gonna rebuild TNA from the ground up. New matches, new wrestlers... new immortal.

Hogan Of course would be pissed and Question Bischoff on "What do you mean nor immortal" (Immortal looks on confused). Bischoff replies "didn't I tell you? You're dismissed"! Hogan is then attacked by Austin Aries, The British Invasion (with Rob Terry), Jeff Jarrett, and Christopher Daniels. The original immortal gets ready to engage the new Immortal, but Bischoff replies "Take 1 more step and your fired!"

Week 1: Bischoff and Hogan talk backstage. Bischoff tells him that he's been holding him back for too long and that he's better sign the contract. Hogan says "or what" and the door locks behind him? The New Immortal corner him and threaten him. Hogan tries to reason with him, but Bischoff wouldn't have any of it. Hogan then signs and leaves the building

The End For Now...)

SO do you think this would work? is it a good start? Let me know what you think and what you would do, if you could make such a change in TNA.

Since when does everyone hate TNA? Since when is Impact Wrestling a "corny" name. RAW Supershow is a way more awkward name than Impact Wrestling, so therefore not making light of that is biasm towards the WWE product.

TNA won't start all over again. Why throw away history? Why isolate yourself from moments like Unbreakable with Styles vs. Joe vs. Daniels? Why isolate yourself from moments like when Kurt Angle debuted? Or when Christian debuted? How about when Sting returned? Why try and take away from the fact TNA reinvented Light Heavyweight wrestling in-front of a mainstream audience when the WWE were misusing their own Cruiserweight division; granted the CW Division was a failure anyway but giving the belt to Hornswoggle took a giant crap all over the entire thing.

This seems more like a Book This! fantasical plot instead of something that I'd either like to see or want to see. Hogan and Bischoff may not be perfect with every decision they make but they bring recognition to the TNA brand, something TNA had little of before they were introduced into the product. Sure they use some old wrestlers. Personally Ric Flair was brilliant since he came back a couple weeks ago, Hogan hasn't been all that bad either nor has Sting for that matter.

TNA has backstage issues which need to be addressed. Low morale is a constant updated rumor, I have never read a report where someone has said TNA is full of confidence. You got the TNA World Heavyweight Champion; fantastic wrestler to me still, but getting nabbed for DUI. Jeff Hardy who was being pushed as the face of the brand getting stoned on a Pay-Per-View, Matt Hardy going batshit insane and so many other issues and TNA need to address them first.

This idea of yours will never come to reality. I wouldn't like to see it come to reality either, Book This! would be the perfect place for it, because currently TNA hasn't been doing all that badly. No Surrender tonight has a couple promising matches, X-Division has been great and the BFG Series has also been a great idea brought in by the company.

People that don't like TNA are usually following the crowd, I've seen so few people make legitimate arguements, you get these three line posters who spill their blurb on the same old stuff but never actually go into detail on why they dislike the product or the company. The history of TNA is why so many still watch it, because you get these great things on occassion and it reminds you of how TNA used to be, because yes, it used to be much better. But it is still good to a certain type of fan. Getting rid of the history, starting again? That would be a horrible idea. A horrible, horrible idea.

By start over, I didn't mean, start the company over, I meant the story lines. When I said everyone hates TNA, I didn't mean literally but you have to admit, they get a lot of flock. Also I never said it would happen, I just wanted a response to the idea; and lastly, this is my first thread so I'm sorry if I put this in the wrong spot.

I don't think it's an altogether horrible idea, although as a wrestling fan, the first thing that immediately comes to mind is the "relaunch" of WCW in Spring of 2000 that really accomplished nothing whatsoever. I think instead of hitting the reset button so to speak on TNA-IW and trying to start over from scratch, if they just moved away from the sillier things and focused on in-ring action with hot up and comers and really good, well thought out, well written (this is the most important one) storylines that make sense, followed up by excellent matches worth the price of admission, I see no reason why TNA still couldn't become a global brand.

Back in 2005/2006, I remember the sky was the limit for TNA, and somewhere along the way, they lost that little bit of magic that they had stumbled upon. If they can get that back, they still have a shot of becoming something more than just a footnote in the ongoing history of WWE.

"although as a wrestling fan, the first thing that immediately comes to mind is the "relaunch" of WCW in Spring of 2000" @ dblaze, I thought the exact same thing.

While I don't necessarily hate or dislike the fantasy booking you came up with, it's just that: fantasy booking. They aren't going to start over and was away everything completely, though I do believe there will be many new angles after BFG, hogan face turn/possible end of immortal etc, well actually maybe not, they do love stables, I could see this developing into bischoffs immortal and hogans bunch of good guys...

Anywho, back from my tangent, no they don't need to "start over" contrary to what is a popular thought in the IWC, IW isn't dying/needing saved/blah blah blah. Theyare in fact a steadily growing company and heading upwards.

@dblaze you say whatever about becoming a footnote inthe history of wwe, this is another thing the IWC puzzles me on. IW isn't the WWE, they are IW, everyone always wants to say which is better, it's an alternative wrestling show, no more no less. Everyone needs to stop comparing them, they aren't in competition, they are geared towards separate markets. They just happen to be in te same business, you don't sit around arguing American idol is betterthan amerces got talent and they are number one and amerces got talent needs saved or they're gonna die. They are similar shows but they are BOTH making money. WWE and IW are similar shows in that they are wrestling, but they are BOTH making money, what's it matter whos got what ratings if they're both making money? As supposed wrestling fans, you should all be grateful you have Both so the people who entertain you can make a living and there are more possibilities for wrestlers to make a living, not to mention it gives us as fans more wrestling each week, which when push comes to shove is what should really matter.

Starting new storylines is what usually happens after the biggest PPV of the company.

Also, how is "Impact Wrestling" corny? It sounds like an actual company. RAW, SmackDown, NXT, Ring Of Honor are way more cornier than that.

People just hate to hate. They want new talent, they get new talent but they find a way to hate it. They want a new X-Division, they get a new X-Division, they hate it.

They want simpler booking, they get it but they hate it still. I bet, they will find a way to hate the winner of the BFG Series tonight as well.

TNA is perfectly fine OUTSIDE of the Internet. 9,900 tickets sold for BFG, 7,000 tickets sold in a show in Virginia, a Euro Tour sold out in every arena and they will tell you TNA is dying or will die while everything shows the opposite.

At this point, what's the point of asking for new storylines if nobody will like anything anyhow? Usually, they don't watch but how do you know anything has changed if you don't watch? It's a poor poor attitude in general.

I actually don't hate TNA and do not even mind seeing some older wrestlers still being active. I don't even care if a lot of what they do is not very original aslong as it is entertaining. My main problem with TNA is that I find a lot of the big matches have horrible endings.

I know you didn't mean start the company over but that may just be what it needs. TNA needs to take inventory. They need to look at the jumbled mess they create with horrible match endings and everything. I guarantee if TNA took damage/inventory control and realized that their endings are the biggest disappointment ever they would start to gain a bit more ratings. I've tried to watch some TNA matches, you know so that way if I blast TNA I at least have SOME sort of basis to go on and avoid being a bandwagon person.

TNA does have potential. If they made the right moves, played the right cards they could in fact be a threat to the WWE. Not overnight obviously but sometime down the road.

Here is how I would change TNA:

What Bischoff needs to do is, as you said improve backstage morale. I know I shouldn't use WCW as an example but back when WCW was doing great, it was due in large part because the backstage/wrestler morale was at an all time high. Everyone felt great about what they were doing. That positive attitude came out in the ring and we got great performances. Happy athletes= great results. TNA needs to start punishing the bad seeds to let the other guys know that everyone, no matter what their level in the company is subject to punishment. Start giving the guys that put on high caliber matches a bonus! It will increase the productivity of your guys. They will see that even if they aren't main eventers their efforts don't go unnoticed.

As far as a way to revamp TNA and eliminate Hogan.

Bischoff comes out, cuts a heart felt promo and admits to his mistakes with the roster. This is not a staged/pre-written promo. This is legitimately from the heart. He apologizes to the guys he has held down and promises to start a-new. He then calls out Hogan and informs Hogan that he won't allow him to do to TNA what he did to WCW. He then informs Hogan that he is effective immediately suspending Hogan until he can figure out how to be a team player. Don't have Hogan come to TNA events what-so-ever. Keep him out. Then from there they form a real plan with who ever else is on the creative staff and they work things out.

OP, and everyone else should wait until after BFG. Everything seems to change for the company after their big event in October. The MEM started and ended then, Hogan's face run and Immortal's beginning and I'm sure the same will happen at BFG this year. Immortal will either be disbanded or changed with Sting vs. Hogan.

If we look at what else is happening, we have Joe becoming a monster again, Morgan seems to be off the injured list and looking to make it big, Beer Money looking great, Austin Aries single handely making the X Division awesome again and Kurt Angle si the World Champion which is usually a good thing on screen.

TNA get the little things wrong but I think they are improving things and are headed in a stronger direction than they were Hogan first debuted. Sting is bringing it every week while the BFG series producing some great free tv and ppv matches.

After BFG I'm sure there will be another big storyline that Russo/Bischoff/Hogan will come up with which will probably have something to do with Jeff Hardy's redemption, possibly Sting's retirement and a new era where guys like Storm or Roode will be the TNA Champion...
