Three Straight Nights of One Direction

I live right next to Croke Park, on the street that serves as its main entrance. One Direction are playing tonight, tomorrow and Sunday. The streets are flooded with children. Mean, ugly children who can't tell recyclables from non-recyclables.

So far, a pigeon had been literally trampled to death and is just lying there on the closed street. One brave soul in a slayer t-shirt has walked his young daughter towards what is surely her first concert, his heart visibly breaking. :disappointed:

On a lighter note, the new portapotty installation has been met with universal acclaim.

The third largest stadium in Europe is sold out three nights in a row, which is something just over 82,000 kids each night. It's a buyers market out there. I bought two pizzas and a bottle of rockshandy, so hopefully all will go well.

I 100% shit you not, I just missed a train home because of One Direction!

I live and work in Dublin, but I'm from Galway, which is the other side of Ireland. To get there by train takes two hours but the last train every Friday from Dublin to the part of Galway I'm from (which is the countryside) leaves at 6:15pm. So, I left my house at 5:00pm so - I thought - I could get to the train station early, get some food, find a good seat on the train and enjoy my two hour trip home. WRONG!

I live just outside Dublin city and to get the train to the station I have to get a bus into town. I got the bus into town but it took an hour to get in from where I live because of traffic caused by the amount of people who have submerged town because of One Direction! I got off the bus at 6:00pm, ran for the Luas (a bit like a monorail, but smaller and grounded for most parts) got on, but because of the amount of people that were on it, it could only travel so fast. I got to the station at 6:30pm and all I could think was, "FUCKING ONE DIRECTION!"

Now I got to get a bus at 7:10am in the morning so I can get home in time to get some dinner, do some washing and ironing, and then head out for a friends birthday of mine. But still all I can think of is the fact One Direction indirectly caused me to miss my train. FUCKING *****!

The pigeon, the guy in a Slayer shirt, MMA cancellation, all metaphors for your feelings.

It got better as it got worse. Training wasn't cancelled, but the only other guy to show up fought for the Ryoshin welterweight title last month. I'd class myself as an optimistic (and dedicated) beginner, so an hour and a half sparring with him has my face a different shape and my organs performing the wrong functions.

Whatever that says about my feelings, I don't know.

:lmao:

It's just to garner heat, man.

PS: I waited a long time to post this, edit windows etc...

Balls, I had no idea! Well spotted!

I 100% shit you not, I just missed a train home because of One Direction!

...

FUCKING *****!

Hard luck man. I hope the train isn't filled with exhausted and whiney kids! Luckily I got let off work an hour early today. Getting from Sandyford to Drumcondra takes over an hour at the best of times, took two hours on tuesday. It only got worse and worse after I got in. Guards/security asking me to show I had a ticket or prove I was a resident. Luckily they understood there's no good reason to take a frozen pizza to a concert.

For those of you I didn't bother with quoting:

Fit Finley, I have no idea what you're talking about Garth for, but supposedly Gay "Gaybo" Byrne himself is there in the flesh.

Jake, I don't care much either way about the group, they only infringe upon my life to the extent that my road is a clusterfuck for three days. They can make all the millions they want, and I hope the show goes good for them and the fans.

Well judging from the reservations field when booking my ticket the train for tomorrow morning is nearly sold-out. I really hope I'm not sitting beside some Fanta filled prick singing, "THAT'S WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL". There'll be murder.

You not hear man? Garth Brooks is playing Croke 5 straight nights in July.

Oh I've heard.

I honestly thought you were talking Wayne's World. I know nothing of Garth, or the actor who pretends not to be Garth all day, so anything was in the realm of possibility. Even him going on tour with 1D.

Garth Brooks will be twice the mess this is. No doubt I will complain anew, and Saga will miss another train.

Sorry...

Dude. I lived in Drumcondra during my first year of college, and I remember being there during the All-Ireland finals. It was a nightmare. But hey, at least the 1D concert-goers aren't getting drunk afterwards.

I live right on Clonliffe Road, the main way on to the Jones Road entrance.

Finals have their good sides and bad. Being during the day it causes more hassle for getting to shops and what have ye, and they are twice as noisy ouside with chants and all that. Once the match ends the drinking disperses though. Proably worse in Drumcondra than it is here

Luckily the concerts have to end by half ten or so. Didn't lose any sleep over it.

Once again, I must admit I'm stumped. But Judging from the Bee and fake afro, I'm guessing this is you dressed as Brooks, and not simply a Bee Enthusiast meeting her favourite musician.

I'm pretty sure, once he's not in Chris Gaines mode, Garth has a goatee right?

My usual fallback fancy dress - no masks required to mess up drinking... and other mouth usage:lmao:

He varies in the facial hair look but, as I'm now developing grey in mine, I stick to the clean shaven version...
