This is the CM Punk that WWE should have

I read that some people don't believe that cm Punk can cut a good promo, I disagree. In WWE CM Punk isn't given the time to cut a good promo, but CM Punk can talk, above is a great example.

Plus I think CM Punk needs a heel run in the WWE, he'd probably be more interesting.

I refuse to watch this, on the grounds that I've heard too many times how much greater Punk was in the Indy scene. I go and watch it, and he proves all the people wrong, showing just how little they know wrestling.

It was pretty good, but how easy is it to say something like that in I believe it was Germany, where drinking is different than it is in America? The idea of it is just fine, but Punk is miles better as a face. Not bad, not great.

A heel turn for Punk is about the stupidest thing WWE could do right now, the only thing dumber would be turning Cena heel (notice a pattern here?), you turn Punk heel like in that video you effectively send the message that if you don't drink, don't do drugs, and don't have promiscuous sex, that you are a complete fuckhead and that it's ok to tell people that you hope they die and such, sending a poor message to the kids whom pop for Punk every fucking night, not to mention the media backlash you would feel, when it's reported that one of the top heels in the company sends the message that you shouldn't be clean and sober, how does that make any sence?, how does it make sence for the WWE to target kids and then get them to hate a guy who sends a message that a face should send?

A gimmick like that can only really work on the indy scene now, if this were the attitude era and the face of the company was Austin again, then yeah it might have worked then, but not now

I'm not suggesting that the heel turn would be exactly like you see in the video, because of "PG WWE" it couldn't work. However a "I'm Straightedge and better than you" gimmick that CM Punk uses as a heel could definetly work and even freshen CM Punk a little bit.

it's ok to tell people that you hope they die and such, sending a poor message to the kids
It really wouldn't be any different then telling them its alright to punt old men in the head, and attack women.

Too true, too true. No women in their underwear or guys smacking each other with chairs anymore, but they'll continue to promote a man who frequently attempts to permanently injure just about everyone he comes into contact with.

WWE doesn't need anymore heels right now. Every guy who can hold a mic is turning heel and shooting into the spotlight at once these days, adding Punk to the mix would make Kofi, Rey and Cena as the only high tier faces on Raw.

I prefer Punk as a heel, but that's not the role he needs to play in his current position. The WWE needs Punk to be a babyface at the moment. With Punk's gimmick, a heel turn needs to be carefully crafted. You can't just turn a straight edge guy heel just for a change. There needs to be a reason for it.

Great promo, though. I hope we do get to see a heel Punk someday.

I think they need to keep Punk as a face simply because of his message. Like Justin pointed out, if they turn him heel, they'll be sending the message that staying sober and clean from drugs is a BAD thing. That's not a good idea.

Eventually down the line, I could see a slight twist on a heel turn happening though. Imagine in say, 2 years, having a feud between Punk and Jeff Hardy, where Hardy is seen as the good guy because he's overcome his addictions and Punk isn't giving him the slightest bit of leeway. You'd have to acknowledge the fact that Hardy was doing the wrong thing and that Punk is right in saying that Hardy fucked up, but it could be more about Punk being an unforgiving s.o.b. about it and whatnot, you know?

But for now, and for a long while I'd assume, Punk is MUCH better served as a face. If he suddenly starts getting booed to the heavens, then they could think about turning him heel, but he's over with the crowd at the moment so there's no need to change.
