There Are Other Companies...

Pre-Show Stalwart
WWE & TNA (iMPACT) are not the only 2 companies out in the wrestling world, sure, they are the 2 biggest but it's not just those two.

So when a superstar or diva gets released from WWE, why do people say "They should go to TNA" why should they? because it's on TV, because it's the next biggest mainsteam wrestling promotion.

Guys and girls can go to other companies such as ROH, for the women, shimmer or go back to the independents.

what are your thoughts?

The money argument is crap if TNA releases you. TNA overpays for WWE names.
The argument about other feds is crap. There are no other feds that pay unless it is the independent. This is because wrestlers are not stupid and will not sign an exclusive contract with a certain fed. Big indies like PWG, CZW and others use the same wrestlers (nwa even falls into this category). Even that new one that just came out and is filming (wrestling revolution, I believe) has the same wrestlers as the indies (joey ryan, colt cabana).

If you are released from WWE, you ither try your luck in TNA or go to ROH ( best technical wrestling show IMO)

Wrestlers doing Indy work are ether desperate, trying to get themselves noticed again in order to get into WWE,TNA or ROH or Legends just making a buck whilst settling their EGO by letting the hardcore fans Drool over them.

I don't think that is true, when Shelton Benjamin got released, everyone said that he should go to ROH which he did. The thing is, most people that are released by WWE wouldn't fit right into ROH unless you were technical/highflying. And most guys that WWE release aren't that, because they know as well that those types of wrestling styles can put on a good match, and maybe help a young superstar get over. I'm just saying this, with no disrespect to him, but I feel that thats the only reason why William Regal still has a job, because he is a good performer that can help people get over.

So when a superstar or diva gets released from WWE, why do people say "They should go to TNA"

The reason why is twofold:

(1) When a performer has worked for the biggest company, the next logical move is to work for the second largest. It's easy to point to ROH or a regional organization, but wrestlers are proud people and probably don't want to be seen as dropping too far in status, especially after working at the top of their profession: WWE.

(2) More than any of the other wrestling organizations, TNA is the one clamoring for WWE stars. They make so much noise about who they're going to pick up from the larger company, it's no wonder a WWE wrestler who has enjoyed any kind of success naturally looks at TNA when his "Vince" days are over. Fans pick up on this and act accordingly.

They mention TNA mostly because they actually want to see the released person on television. ROH and Shimmer are lacking in this department. ROH also doesn't pay nearly as well so most talents wouldn't want go back to working gymnasiums for free.

TNA is the best place to work that isn't WWE.
RoH is a fraction of their size, and has a lot of growing pains to move up (although they are becoming a little more mainstream now)

WWE and TNA are the two main promotions, they're the two most recognized. Logical thinking would make one ask the question, "Will they go to TNA after being released from WWE?" It happens to most and then a debate will begin on why TNA should bring the WWE guys in. And to be fair, it has positives.

Christian for example, in WWE before he was released was on the cusp of the upper mid-card matches. He went to TNA and instantly became a main eventer because most wrestling fans recognized him and TNA built on this. Mr. Anderson is a good and more recent example of this, WWE had him come close to the main event but due to constant injuries his time was prolonged; and the Orton incident of course. However going to TNA could be one of the best things that happened to him, because he came in, played a character which a lot of people at the time liked/still like and now hes a former two time World Heavyweight Champion.

And if you want to look at it from the perspective of the workers personal lives, TNA pays the best money outside WWE. Independant promotions pay people based more off their name value then their talent, and even what they pay those with large names can be small. Kevin Steen and Colt Cabana openly mocked Melina when she was seeking $2,500 plus a large number of additives to take indy bookings. ROH don't even pay that much, around $200 or something per-show to the average worker. Some indy wrestlers even work for free.

you rkidding, theres other promotions???? Gee nobody knew that. what are you, 8 years old.

For a professional wrestler to earn a sustainable living in North America, he must be under contract to WWE or TNA. Simple as that. The independants do not pay well at all, sometimes the talent dont get paid. If a wrestler has been aroudn a while and have saved their money, they can do one off appearances in ROH etc like they already do for a set fee, paid in advance. There is no company for these guys to wrestle with in North America idf they want to maintain the same level of income and lifestyle they are accustomed too.
They could go to Japan where the money is over the top, but unless you have a solid technical background or a super over gimmick, Japan will boo them out of the arena, and country.
