Welcome to part 5 of the wrestling HOF by ethnic and culture. Today we will discuss who are the best Asian wrestlers of all time. My list is as fallow:
1. Rikidozan -( Korea ) Career 1951-1963, NWA & JWA, 8 single titles & 9 tag titles, he is consider the Babe Ruth or Hulk Hogan of Japanese wrestling, he was the founder of the JWA.
2. Giant Baba - ( Japan ) Career 1960-1998, JWA,AJPW,WWWF & NWA, 17 single titles & 13 tag titles.
3. Antonio Inoki - ( Japan ) Career 1960-Semi-retire, JWA,NJPW,NWA & WWF, 12 single titles & 11 tag titles, he has been inducted into 4 HOF.
4. Jumbo Tsuruta - ( Japan ) Career 1973-1999, AJPW,AWA &NWA, 14 single titles & 19 tag titles, won wrestler of the year 3 times and match of the year 6 times.
5. Genichiro Tenryu - ( Japan ) Career 1976-semi-retire, AJPW,NJPW,WWF,WCW & NWA, 8 single titles & 14 tag titles, 4 wrestler of the year, 8 match of the year.
6. Mitsuharu Misawa - ( Japan ) Career 1981-2009, NOAH,AJPW,& NWA, 9 single titles & 12 tag titles, 24 five star matches, 5 match of the year & 3 wrestler of the year.
7. The Great Kabuki - ( Japan ) Career 1964-1998, AJPW,JWA,NWA,WWF,WCCW, & NJPW, 9 single titles & 11 tag titles, began his career at the age of 16.
8. Kenta Kobashi - ( Japan ) Career 1988-present, AJPW & NOAH, 5 single titles & 12 tag titles, 7 match of the year, 23 five star matches, 4 wrestler of the year, and he has 47 signature & finisher moves.
9. Masato Tanaka ( Japan ) Career 1993-Present, ECW,WWE,NWA, & FMW, 9 single titles & 13 tag titles, he is known as The Enforcer in Japan.
10. Jushin Liger - ( Japan ) Career 1984-Present, NJPW,CMLL,WWF,TNA,ROH,Stampede,NOAH, JAPW, Dragon Gate & WCW, 27 single titles & 6 tag titles.
11. The Great Muta - ( Japan ) Career 1984-Present, NWA,WCCW,WCW,WWC,AJPW,TNA & NJPW, 14 single titles & 11 tag titles, he has used 22 entrance theme in his career.
As we can see there are many Asian wrestlers who are or deserve the HOF induction, and I know there are plenty more to add.
