I feel a little weird being the only one who posts in here but dammit that aint gonna stop me. Tonight's episode was not quite as good as the past few and the fight was surrounded with controversy, that being said lets get going.
I absolutely loved how instead of just outing John Dodson as the rat on his team, Mayhem used it to his advantage and made Team Bisping think the match up was Diego-Siler so that Akira wouldn't be as prepared to fight when they announced the fight was going to be Dustin Neace vs Akira. Diego is a major hot head and although I dislike him more and more every time we see him throwing a fit, I still think he's going to take his competition in his weight class but personality wise I don't like him.
We had a nice little confrontation with Akira and Dustin at fight announcements when they got in each other's faces and Dustin let his energy get to him and took a takedown, everyone gets involved to seperate them and then Bisping and Mayhem get in a little war of words, nothing important though.
The actual fight was interesting, first of all I have to say that Neace's stand up is akward as hell and not very fun to watch unless you're looking for some good laughs, and Akira needs to work on Cardio and working off his back. Anyway the fight starts with akward stand up exchanges(mostly thanks to Dustin's striking) but he it goes to the ground after a caught kick by Akira, and after some fun on the ground Dustin catches Akira in an ankle lock and Akira taps, but the ref doesn't see it and the fight continues. Second round was all Akira in a lackluster dominant performance, but there's some major BS gone down with that sub not ending the fight. I would like to say this fight's result is reversed but looking at other bad finishes in UFC history I'm not getting to optimistic about it, it does look like it will be reviewed atleast.
On another note, when Akira went over to Mayhem's corner and did the imaginary machine gun, and then the athletic director Keith Kizer came out and talked to him, what did you guys(if anyone else ever comes on here) think? I thought
1)When the hell has Kizer ever interjected in the history of this show and why did he choose now to do so instead of other moments like Junie jumping the cage on TUF 8?
2)This guy needs to take the pole out of his ass and calm down, I am a big fan of respect and if I were on TUF I certainly wouldn't be one of the guys to do something like that but fighters have major amounts of adrenaline and when that stuff is pumpin you can do things you might regret later, but I highly disagree that something like that is grounds for being suspended. So Tito doing the Gravedigger is totally fine but this guy doing basically the same thing is a no no? Why? Because he isn't a big money name yet so you can hassel him about it? I don't know, it's really no big deal but I thought it was a little strange seeing him jump in where he wasn't needed.
Anyway, decent episode but I will be much happier when we find out if anything will be done about Akira tapping and going on to win the fight, fingers crossed and hoping the decision will be reversed, that'd take the wind out of Bisp's sails.
