There are actually a couple of candidates for this role. Of course they are already branded but here are a few people I think could be inter-branded .
1. Evan Bourne. Decent in the ring, fun to watch, obviously the kids will love him, and it could open up opportunity to push this guy.
2. Finlay. This one was a no-brainer, and while he isn't new or anything can easily work all the brands or wrestle weekly on Superstars. We already know that he is an excellent wrestler as well, so I don't think there is any real debate to ensure over that either.
3. Christian - Yeah, Captain Charisma. Another ECW guy but he is also a great wrestler, is in a new run with the WWE, and people like him, so it would work to have him on there any time. I myself don't like the fact that I can only watch him on Tuesdays, I am sure I am not the only one who shares these sentiments as well, so seeing him appear on Superstars would probably work well for him. I also have to add that the more exposure you give him, the more he will grow on people, opening up opportunities to do bigger things with him.
4. The New Hart Foundation. This is a great idea to my way of thinking. Why limit them to the ECW brand. You could have them on Superstars every week beating tag-teams which would build their credibility. I also think that having any of these ECW people on Superstars to display their talent would bring more people to watch ECW.
5. The Great Khali. Why not? He is a Smackdown superstar but people like him. It's always fun to watch a guy as big as Khali beat the crap out of someone. Imagine him beating up Jimmy Wang Yang or something on Superstars. Just a match thrown in there for the hell of it. Or maybe beating up Kung-Funaki. Just give him these matches where the opponent is grossly over matched. It think that might even be kind of funny.
6. R-Truth. Yes, another Smackdown guy. I think though, that just because a guy is on a brand doesn't mean he has to be exclusive to that brand. R-Truth is a guy who could use the exposure, and that people obviously like to watch. I think like many of the other wrestlers I named, Superstars could act as a launch pad for him, and also draw more people to Smackdown.
7. Ricky Ortiz. Another guy like R-Truth who just needs the exposure and more importantly for Ortiz, the experience. You could have him in matches of course on Smackdown, but then put him in the ring for some extra polishing on Superstars.
8.Dolph Ziggler. Hi, this is Dolph Ziggler. Yet another man who just isn't getting over yet. Maybe take him and Ortiz, put them in a program together, see if they can get anything out of the crowd and each other. I think Dolph Ziggler has a great look, and could have some real potential. I'd like to see him wrestle Shelton Benjamin as he is quite frankly appropriately named "The Gold Standard". I think in a match with Shelton you would be able to compare and contrast, that would be the guy to show you what Ziggler either has or doesn't have. Superstars would be a perfect platform to find out.
9. The Brian Kendrick. Now I know this guys gimmick sucks, but if you look back on his tag team days you know that he is very talented. Superstars is neutral ground to me, and I think in that neutral ground he could establish himself better in his solo career.
10. Goldust. I made a thread about this guy and how under used he is. Superstars could be a perfect place for him to showcase more of that amazing in-ring ability and garner more support from fans to hopefully give him another run at the Intercontinental Championship.
That pretty well does it. I think all of these guys are great candidates be they new or older competitors. They all have much more to offer than many of us have seen, and Superstars to me feels like the appropriate place to showcase more of these superstars talents. Your thoughts....?
