The Shield Break-up.

Quote the Raven, nevermore.
I'll start by apologizing if this is in the wrong section. Haven't been on here in a while...

Ok, so we all know that the WWE plans on splitting The Shield up either at or sometime after Wrestlemania 30. The plan I've seen the most is to make it so that Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are the ones to turn on Roman Reigns. This will lead to Reigns having a singles push as a face and Ambrose/Rollins staying as a heel team. The questions I have for you are the following;

1. What would you want Roman Reign's gimmick to be after the split?

2. Should Ambrose/Rollins still call themselves "The Shield"? If not, which name/gimmick should they have?

3. Should a new member of The Shield be revealed to replace Reigns?

4. Would you have Ambrose/Rollins have a solid run as a tag team and maybe even capture the tag titles or would you rather them just split up all together?

Again, this is my first thread in a long time so sorry if it's in the wrong section. I'd really like to hear your guys' input so answer below!

1. What would you want Roman Reign's gimmick to be after the split? Cool name, gimmick is fine as is. Silent, tough guy.

2. Should Ambrose/Rollins still call themselves "The Shield"? If not, which name/gimmick should they have? If they are staying as a team, sure. Makes things simple. Most teams in WWE have a singular name.

3. Should a new member of The Shield be revealed to replace Reigns? Absolutely not. It would be impossible to reproduce what the current 3 did as a trio, so don't even try

4. Would you have Ambrose/Rollins have a solid run as a tag team and maybe even capture the tag titles or would you rather them just split up all together? Now that we've seen them a bit vulnerable, no reason they couldn't be in for a long title reign. WWE likes to talk about how long people are holding on to titles. I'd give these guys as a long a reign as possible.

1. Same guy, different outfit is really all that's necessary

2. I can see them staying as "The Shield", the name, music and outfits are still good so why not.

3. Maybe, I remember the Mason Ryan rumors from a while back and a 3rd certainly couldn't hurt if they went back to working for HHH. But really it's not that necessary

4. Hm....I don't see either men being pushed all that hard post break-up so a tag title run could be interesting, just as long as they actually defend it! While part of me would like to see how cocky Ambrose looks carrying around 2 belts I would definitely have him drop the US before putting the tag titles on him.
In the future I expect/hope that Ambrose becomes a top heel and Rollins to be a popular high spot guy like Jeff Hardy was

It would be nice to see the Shield stay together for some more time, as faces. They can actually let these guys stay together for one more year. Hardly any one would hate on that idea. This is how I'd book the Shield for the next two years.

This year, they should have some upper mid card matches like last year, but this time as faces.

Next year at Royal Rumble, Brock wins the WWEWHC, while Reigns wins the Rumble. At Wrestlemania XXXI, Reigns defeats Brock to win the championship.

At Money In the Bank 2015, Rollins(or Ambrose) wins the MITB (the Shield are still together). Rollins could then have some individual matches and tag matches with Ambrose. Reigns could lose the championship somewhere in between (maybe to Bryan, Batista, Orton or someone?), but should win it back by the end of 2015, probably by Survivor Series.

2016: Ambrose (or Rollins) wins the Royal Rumble, and the MITB winner cashes in at Wrestlemania. The reason why I would prefer Ambrose as the Rumble winner is because I guess he should be the heel, so it wouldn't really make so much sense if he says he is going to cash in at 'Mania before 'Mania. Rollins could stay face and it would make sense. Finally at Wrestlemania XXXII, the epic finale to the stable, a triple threat match for the WWEWHC.

Cena, Batista and Orton are superstars that can go in and out of the championship picture, and can have some major feuds without the championships being involved, while Bryan can win the championship at some point in between. Bray Wyatt can survive with some solid feuds with main event talents like Orton, Sheamus and some other guys. After Wrestlemania XXXII, Bray Wyatt can go after the world championship.

Thoughts?

Oh and just for the record, these guys should keep their outfits as it is, cause they looks so darn weird otherwise lol. Watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRm-2loMupM
Great match, but these guys look very weird lool

Ok, so we all know that the WWE plans on splitting The Shield up either at or sometime after Wrestlemania 30.

While it's a recurring topic, I can't agree that it's a lock. The news articles keep referring to after Mania, indeed, but I just keep seeing it as a split sometime in the future, and future is an indefinite article. I very much see a little more longevity in a face-Shield, and I hope someone in WWE creative sees it this way as well. The Shield has to split, as all factions do, but it can wait.

The questions I have for you are the following;

1. What would you want Roman Reign's gimmick to be after the split?

2. Should Ambrose/Rollins still call themselves "The Shield"? If not, which name/gimmick should they have?

3. Should a new member of The Shield be revealed to replace Reigns?

The appropriate scenario is to split all three members. I don't agree with the hypothetical tag team/single star breakdown that has been reported. When the Shield splits, that should be the end of the Shield, pointe finale! I feel like keeping two of them together is only going to dilute the impact of their split.

That being said, it's not to say they can't keep some memento of their success as a group. I've said this in another thread, but I'll reiterate;

As individuals, give them each new music, but keep them coming through the crowd. Keep them in the tactical gear or something similar (Reigns can remove the vest for the lady viewers, Rollins and Ambrose can keep the gear or alter the color scheme), and we can enjoy the collective buzz in the arena whenever any combination of the three cross paths!

Edit;

Didn't catch that the first time reading through. Glad to see someone already agrees with me!

I don't think the Shield will lose at WM30 and it will be a very bad booking decision if the WWE doesn't let this Shield face run last as close to SummerSlam as possible, lMO, since the fans have gotten behind them and responded positively to the Face turn.
Some sort of tease was done between HHH and Reigns on the last RAW show, and I hope it means a possible showdown between the two guys down the line.

It is obvious Reigns is the main guy to be pushed, and the other 2 aligning with the Authority and turning on Reigns would be a good decision some time before SummerSlam and letting Reigns go on his way first by having him overcome the other 2 to show his "beastly abilities".

Then, you can have Rollins turning Face later on down the line, because it is obvious, that Rollins High-Flying style is absolutely loved by the crowd. He does seem to be the next Jeff Hardy, or I daresay, based on his decent mic work even better than Hardy.

Ambrose, I hope, will be a Top Heel and be booked as such when his Singles run truly begins since he seems to have most of the tools for being afforded such a status.

Based on the Shield's booking since the beginning, I do hope ALL 3 of the Shield members get booked properly as they have been from the beginning and they all have successful careers post - Breakup.

A month ago it seemed apparent that The Shield were on the road to splitsville, but turning them face has giving them a whole new life. I see no reason to break them up anytime soon, to be honest.

To answer the specific questions in regards to their breakup, whenever that takes place:

1.Roman Reigns should stay exactly like he is now. If it's not broke, don't fix it.

2/3.I would definitely not keep Ambrose and Rollins together as a team(more on that in the next answer), but if they did, sure keep the name I guess. But I wouldn't bring in anybody else. If I was going to add in more members, I would've done it before now. These three have something special and adding in other members would deteriorate that, and I don't think they could ever recapture the magic of the original.

4.I would definitely split up all three at the same time. But, again, not any time soon. Give them a good run as a face trio first. And when they do split up, I would probably have Reigns just go off and do his own thing(maybe he wins MITB or, if they stick together long enough, next year's Royal Rumble) and let Rollins and Ambrose feud, with Ambrose turning on Rollins. I think Ambrose is destined to be a heel while the other two can stay faces.

1. What would you want Roman Reign's gimmick to be after the split? To be similar to what he is now, not much on the mic but more of that badass character

2. Should Ambrose/Rollins still call themselves "The Shield"? If not, which name/gimmick should they have?They probably will just go with Rollins/Ambrose, unfortunately

3. Should a new member of The Shield be revealed to replace Reigns? No, Rollins and ambrose shouldn't be together long. Both have tremendous talent to be on their on

4. Would you have Ambrose/Rollins have a solid run as a tag team and maybe even capture the tag titles or would you rather them just split up all together? I do think they will win the titles at least once, see answer 3. Rollins is the fucking man

1. I'd want it the same as now, may have to change up his attire like something Kevin Nash would wear. Hopefully he don't have a hard time finding theme music like Wade Barrett has.

2. They should. I have no problem with it. They wouldn't lose their individual identities either.

3. No, because the new member will always be compared to Reigns. If anything, it would be an opportunity to allow more character development and attention to Rollins/Ambrose since most was placed on Reigns. For example, Rollins can finally pursue the IC Championship instead of only title he could compete for is the tag with Reigns and Ambrose can get more attention being one of the longest reigning US Champs. They could be a lite version of a Two man power trip like when The Rock was in the Nation with D'Lo Brown, both being IC Champ and European Champion

1. I just hope all 3 of them continue wearing the current in-ring attire regardless of whether they're going to split or not because I've seen them in FCW matches on Youtube and they didn't look as good in tights. This is my biggest worry about the Shield break-up.

2. Sure.

3. No. It's better to completely break up the faction than to replace an original member with a new guy.

I personally hope the Shield never breaks up. They can all have singles careers and feud with each other but still be a team while not feuding with each other.

I agree with most of what you guys are saying. If it was up to me (which it isn't), The Shield would never break up. Maybe at most they would all agree to follow their own paths while still having each other's back and sometimes even teaming up. I think the theme song, entrance and attire is the best in the WWE right now. No one can say that they don't get pumped as all Hell when the theme song hits.

If they do split however, I would have Reigns keep the Shield Theme song but replace the "Sierra, Hotel, India, Echo, Delta, SHIELD" with Romeo, Echo, India, Golf, November, Sierra, REIGNS" or something and keep the Riot gear.

As for Rollins/Ambrose. They can get a new theme/gimmick. Maybe have them embrace the fact that they are from the indies and go for a "World's Greatest Tag Team" type thing. They can even start wearing tights or whatever.

At the end of the day, I just really want all 3 of them to succeed in the WWE.

This is an interesting idea,tbh.

I didn't think of it before, but have Roman Reigns continue with a badass type persona, maybe an "Avenging Angel" type gimmick, and keeping that type of Entrance even when he splits would do wonders in Storylines for a guy built as Roman Reigns has been,lMO, with the intimidation factor and such.

If that is done, then obviously the Shield Gear might have to be tweaked a bit, but largely should remain the same going forward.

Just imagine, an underdog type wrestler needing help, and the music hits, and the Heel doesn't know where Reigns is coming from...could be a sort of throwback to Sting,lMO, with a slight difference.

Cheers.

1. Name and Gimmick are fine. Just don't have him be face and then be a jack ass who smiles all the time and is a damn boy scout. Keep him serious and intense.

2. It depends, if Reigns just breaks off and there's no physical confrontation between the members, then yea they can just go on as the shield. But if its a case where they get into a fight and feud with each other, than they should definitely drop the shield name, cause the the shield would be over then.

3. Nope. Absolutely not. Whenever someone replaces someone in wrestling it tends to never go well. No wrestler they could bring in would have the chemistry that reigns has with them and it would show during six man matches.

4. I think Ambros/Rollins would be a great tag team, and would really be the good heel tag team the division has been missing, not for lack of talent but lack of push. A nice tag title reign would be a good move. On the other side of things, if they don't stay together I think both men have a very bright future as single stars

We look back at Evolution tens year later and see that it created stars like Batista and Orton. We'll look back at the shield five years from now and see that it spawned three great superstars.
