The Queens & Kings

Ferbian

Has Returned.
The queens and kings around the world has always been a major part of a country. They've been the focal point in public appearances throughout the whole time that the media was accessible. As well as they have served as focal points to visits in other countries. They've served as the primary person to uphold the law and to make decisions in their country.

Now we have the government making a lot of the decisions. They uphold the law, as well as create all the laws that are needed to run the country. In a way you could say that the government really should be the very top, not the queen or king. The queen or king in theory has become useless, with exception of a signing of a law etc. Not much more than that, and public appearances, to represent the country.

The United States seem to have figured it out nicely. They don't have a queen, they don't have a king. They simply have the government making the decisions. And while some may disagree with how the government runs things, that's really something that can be said for every country. But all in all they seem to have been doing well over the past many years of existence. They have thrived so to say.

That brings me to my question: Do we really need the kings and queens anymore? Have they simply become a symbol of honor for the country, a bragging thing (Considering Denmark supposedly could brag about having the longest line of kings and queens in the world for example), as well as a way of representing the country? Or do they still serve a purpose for their country?
