Gone. For. Good.
This thread is discussion about a wrestler's improvement on the basis of in-ring work.

And that wrestler is Dean Ambrose.

He has had a great year in terms of accomplishments. He has won Money In The Bank briefcase, InterContinental Championship and World Championship. He has gone over both his mates in the highly anticipated Shield Triple Threat match. A clean win over John Cena. Yeah, he did his lows while feuding with Brock Lesnar & Chris Jericho but that's it.

That's in terms of accomplishments. But my main point is his improvement at in-ring work.

I have always liked his offense since it suits his gimmick but now I love his offense. He has been so much better in ring especially after losing the World Championship to AJ Styles.

I remember that some people said here that his moveset isn't a right one. I guess that even I said it once. But now he has renovated his moveset. Yeah, his finisher is the same but he has added some innovative moves in his arsenal like Chickenwing Facebuster or the super butterfly suplex. He has become better at in-ring psychology and also at selling just like he sold his left leg injury very well.

So there's no sense left in considering Ambrose to be less talented as compared to his stbale mates Reigns and Rollins.

Do you think that he has improved post MITB 2016?

DEAN AMBROSE is a Stone Cold kinda wrestler..His character, gimmick or persona is supposed to overcome his in ring abilities..But in today's scenario you cannot be over with loose in ring skills..
But Dean is not a bad wrestler in my opinion..He just needs to be flow with the current of a match,,just a little polish to his move sets..He has definitely improved since MITB i guess..
But all his recent matches has been against one of the greatest in ring performer of all time..So that may have given him some improvement..

I've never really thought Ambrose was a terrible wrestler but I think he has been limited in what he can do by being made into a "lunatic" style brawler. He is a good promo, obviously not on Steve's level but pretty good, this is why he stays over for the most part. There are just certain things about him in the ring that irks me everytime.
1. the chop-punch-chop-punch thing looks weak.
2. the lunatic lariat. I thought it was kinda cheesy the first time I saw it but now it's sooo predictable and doesn't even look that cool.
3. The suicide dive, seriously stop. So many guys do this spot and Ambrose does it in slow motion and botches 1 out of every 4 he attempts. Harper looks more athletic doing it despite being a larger dude.

4. I'm not sure if he still does this maybe someone can help me. The little ADD monkey kid running and jumping with one foot on the 2nd turnbuckle, that didn't make him look like an unhinged lunatic, just an idiot.

Other than these spots that are obligatory parts of his matches, he isn't bad at all. So has he improved since MITB, yeah I'd have to assume so. Working with Styles has helped make him look good but I'm bet he's probably been able to pick some things up working with top guys.

I think he need wider moveset. There are tons that WWE stars don't use and he can choose from them. And then there are tons that can be modified.

I voted yes,but that goes for Post-Backlash. Ambrose was never a bad wrestler. He just seemed unmotivated due to his position on the card. When Ambrose became the champion, he got lazy imo. He relied on Cena-esque humor and putting on a "passable" match. It seems that every since they took the belt off of him he's been pretty good again. Its the same case as Reigns. He was put in a position he wasn't yet ready for. Ambrose without the belt is a entertaining Superstar and a solid in ring wrestler.

Ambrose has always been a great wrestler. His questionable booking simply overshadowed his in-ring ability and made his matches uninteresting.

After the Shield broke up, Ambrose could not win anything. He lost around 3-4 PPVs straight to Rollins before losing his feud against Wyatt. He was also treated mostly as Reigns' sidekick for most of the year. Then he was squashed by Lesnar. His feud with Jericho was fine, but a win over him means nothing.

The Shield triple threat and his matches with Styles have been great. Why? Ambrose is getting treated like a big deal by Creative. It's amazing what a few wins and titles can do to a wrestler's importance in the eyes of the fans. Ever wondered why no one cares about Wyatt?

I voted no. The quality of Ambrose's matches have increased but because of booking not Ambrose's in-ring abilities.
