The impact the recent PPVs will have on the Network

I get it that there is an upside to sending the crowd home unhappy after a big event. It sets up the payoff at a future bigger show.

But here's the thing. I think the night before the launch of the WWE Network, I think it was important to put on a MitB '11-like show where the fans are just so fucking ECSTATIC that they can't wait to cough up more money for more PPVs.

After the bullshit endings at SummerSlam, Night of Champions, Hell in a Cell, Survivor Series, TLC, Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber (Holy shit that's a lot of unhappy endings), aren't the fans conditioned to believe that WWE PPVs are NEVER GRATIFYING???

Even if most fans have the attention span to look back to the days where PPVs actually made you feel good for having ordered them, they will still realize that those days are behind them.

I for one have absolutely no confidence that the next 7 PPVs will be any better than the last 7. And even worse, I believe that "committing" to the next 4 PPVs by subscribing to the network will make WWE try even less to please the paying customers.

That being said, I think they dropped the ball by not fixing the bad blood of the last PPVs with ending this PPV on a high note. A lot of people who were looking to order the Network might be getting second thoughts. And a lot of people who never even thought about ordering it, will be even harder to convince.

TRANSLATION: DB didnt win so im pissed and I will not be buying another ppv until DB wins the titles

We get it...Please stop with these threads. Nobody cares if you wont be getting the wwe network. I have a REAL life that I rather enjoy instead of sitting around worrying who the wwe champ is. Ive honestly never cared who the champ was. I watch because I enjoy wrestling and I have since I was 5. There was a time when DB wasnt in the wwe, and that time will come again and I will still be watching and enjoying matches like the one that The Wyatts and The Shield had tonite.

Elimination Chamber and Royal Rumble were very good PPV's but people cant see that because all they do is ignore 90% of the ppv and only focus on whats happening to Daniel Bryan

No, you're just spouting b.s., that is not what I am talking about at all. There have always been 2 ways WWE ends their PPVs:
(1) Sending the crowd home happy, hoping the good-will keeps them hooked
(2) Sending the crowd home upset, hoping they get hooked awaiting the payoff

This has nothing to do with DB. A heel has won at the end of every single one of the last 7 PPVs. (You could count the Rumble as an exception, but the crowd clearly viewed Batista as a heel. Anyone who was in the ring against him was getting cheered.)

My point is that WWE needed to end a PPV on a high note. You could have Bryan screwed in the first match at EC, but have Cena get a dominant win at the end of the night. Hell, you could have had Orton win the Chamber, and then follow it up with Bryan beating him up or SOMETHING.

Point is, every single PPV for a long time has had a "heel ending" that intentionally pisses off the fans hoping that they stick around waiting for the tides to turn. And while that booking makes sense, I just feel the tides should've turned BEFORE the Network debuts.

In fact, maybe the network should've debuted right after WrestleMania 30. An Undertaker, Bryan or Cena win at the end of the night, some sort of Hogan celebration, and they send the crowd home happy, looking forward to the Network.

An angle like the one they did tonight where the announcers and the fans are outraged at the ending makes for good storytelling, but I for one think it will have a negative impact on the Network's debut. It wasn't the right time to do an ending like that. It was time to restore faith in the PPV-lineup to get people to commit to the next 6 months.

Unhappy fans should jump at the chance to pay $9.99 for a crappy ppv instead of $50 or $60. But really there's no way to win with these crowds. If Daniel Bryan isn't in the main event they obstruct the show. If he is in the main event and loses they boo. I'd like to see these fans put their money where their mouths are and not buy the subscription. Hell, I'd like to see them stop watching wrestling altogether and find out what difference it would make to the WWE's bottom line. One wrestler who I happen to like is making me hate watching wrestling because the fans have become so intolerant of anything that's not Daniel Bryan that they purposely ruin the show. People talk about Cena being shoved down our throats, that's nothing compared with what's going on with Daniel Bryan.

You're completely missing the point. This isn't about Daniel Bryan. This is about setting the correct atmosphere for the launch of the Network. It didn't have to be Bryan, it could have been anyone. Right off the hells of 7 straight PPVs with a heel ending isn't the right tone you want to set to get people to commit to ordering the next 4 PPVs in one go.

Honestly, I think that you are missing the point...the main selling point of the wwe network is nostalgia. The fact that for only 60 dollars you can get every wwe, wcw, and ecw ppv EVER is what will make this thing sell. I collect wwe dvds and probably own about 5000-10000 dollars worth of dvds and now for $9.99 a month my collection has become useless lol. The ppv's are more of a bonus for the wwe. The old ppv's are the selling point that is supposed to help the ratings for the current ppv's. You seem to have it backwards. The way you say it is that ppv's being included is to help sells for the WWE network but its actually the other way around, the network is there to improve ppv sales.

My point remains the same. Unhappy fans should jump at the chance to pay $9.99 for a ppv instead of $50. Since the Bryan thing is what has everybody butt hurt at the moment I used that as my example.
