Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant find what they believe to be an uncharted paradise. What the crew discover is a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

The Alien series is a strange one. A great original, the grandiose sequel, Alien 3 is highly underrated, Resurrection is terrible, and the crossovers failed to live up to the hype and any real expectations. Prometheus is one of those films that has split reactions on so many sides. Some praise it as a great film, some believe it's overrated, too pretentious, and you have a good amount of people, who were disappointed, because the movie didn't answer any real questions.

Maybe it's the Alien film we've been waiting on for a while, and the trailer looks good, and according to Ridley Scott, Covenant will have a hard R-rating, and you can see a glimpse of it with that shower scene at the end. The Alien series is very streaky, and it's safe to say the last top quality Alien film was released thirty years ago. Hopefully, Noomi Rapace makes an appearance in the next trailer, and it'll be interesting to see how they'll use Danny McBride and James Franco here.

Alien and Aliens were great movies. Everything after that falls in "mediocre" category. Prometheus is pretentious movie that tries to be serious but offers really stupid decisions of characters who are suppose to be smart so it cant be taken seriously. This as kinda sequel to that so dunno what to expect.

Hopefully, Noomi Rapace makes an appearance in the next trailer
Does it really mather if she is probably just cameo for flashbacks or ship logs? Oh, and probably dead.

Two scientists who run at first sight of Alien life, then lost themselves in already mapped area, and then they smoke weed and one of them pets some alien who kills both of them afterward? O wait, we had that in Prometheus. See why I cant take that movie seriously. :D

I never thought about that before, and there's a good chance that's the case here. She was the main character in Prometheus, and she had a lot of screen time, so leaving her out of the first trailer and not promoting her was kind of strange.

:lmao: One of the main reasons why it's hard to defend the logic and the storyline in Prometheus.

Yeah, McBride and Franco (or The Pineapple Express duo) are probably just there for comic relief. Although, McBride is more serious than usual in the trailer.

The biggest question I was left with after watching Prometheus was why Charlize Theron's character was even in the movie, nothing of what she did had consequences.

It's a long shot, but hopefully this film won't just be a huge tease like Prometheus. We've apparently found our origin species, and for whatever reason they really fucking hate us. The one powder looking giant went all hulk smash because he realized that the synth had deciphered his language, that's a pretty weird button to have.
