As stupid as this might initially sound, I always said I would like to see Johnny Depp play Heath Ledger's joker.
I don't want him to play his own version, I just think he would be capable in imitating Ledger's role.
Well, Depp did play a slight cameo (along with Jude Law) to cover up for Ledger in
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. So it could be possible.
Albeit, I simply don't think it's worth it to try and imitate someone, so much as to make your own character out of it.
I mean, no matter how black Robert Downey Jr. turns himself, I'll never view him as Samuel L. Jackson, understand?
Penguin would be a pretty good choice, as would Talia al Ghul.
I wouldn't mind Penguin, but depending on where and how he went with the character, I'm simply unsure if it'd be worth it.
As for Ghul, the only problem I have with him is the same problem I have with personally wanting Croc. Only die-hard Batman fans are going to know who that is. And most of the people going to these films are doing so because of the traditional high profile characters that main-streamed Batman.
Joker, Catwoman, Penguin, Riddler, Two-Face, Mr. Freeze.
Honestly I really want to see Mr. Freeze. It could be really awesome if done right, plus that character deserves redemption after the atrocity that was Batman and Robin.
For what it's worth, I enjoyed Batman & Robin. Not because I thought it was a masterpiece, though.
Arnold, originally had me in belief he was perfect for the role - but to be honest, some big muscle bound guy is completely
wrong for that role. It needs to be someone that looks more weak than strong. Freeze wasn't a powerful enemy by strength, he was powerful by skill and knowledge.
That all being said, Freeze being in the movie borderlines turning it campy. His main weapon was freezing everyone. Think how corny and stupid that looked in B&R.
Poison Ivy has potential, scary potential, to be a villian. Same with Catwoman. I'm disappointed Riddler won't be the guy, but I'm sure he has his reasons for why not.
