The Warlord & The Barbarian

Demolition
Ax, Smash & Crush

Both WWE ''rip-off'' versions of the Road Warriors/Legion Of Doom. But both better imo. So which team is the best?

Easy. The Powers Of Pain. Demolition were always considered more of a rip off that POP. Probably because they wore more make-up.

And why were both better than LOD?

The greatest manager of all time. Before the Austin/Hart double turn. Came the Demolition/POP turn. Both teams are awesome. This is not some nostalgia trip, it's a fact.

Not only that. But Smash went on to become the guilt please that is Repo Man. Crush went on to have a good match. And The Warlord and Barbarian adopted some of the coolest ring attire in the history of wrestling once they split.

Demolition. The powers of pain were a decent rip off, but did they ever even win any tag titles? Demolition was just a bad ass tag team. They were great until Crush came along, and even then they were still good. The double turn was great, and Demolition was even better as faces than as heels. Throw in the over a year long tag title run of Demolition and it puts them over the top.

Id say both were better than LOD ring work wise, as they were both far better workers, and much more than just a look and a gimmick, as the road warriors were. The Barbarian, for one, is extremely underrated. Did THE most impactfull looking flying clotheslie ive ever seen.

And while Demolition wasnt exactly pretty, they were still pretty quality. See there SUmmerSlam best 2 of 3 falls match with The Hart Foundation for proof. Excellet work. Superior to ANYTHING that LOD has done, or at least, what ive seen from them.

Demolition. I was such a huge fan back in the day. They still are one of my all time favorite tag teams. Their ring attire was so much better, the masks they wore to the ring were great and their face paint was superior. Not to mention, that Demolition had some kick ass entrance music. I have it on my ipod right now. True story.

The best ripoff has to be Demolition, although i liked the Powers of Pain. Demolition were always the bad ass tag team and one of the best tag teams ever. They held the belt what three times and lasted awhile in the WWE. One other thing PoP if I am right never held the belts. I should mention though that they maybe the best ripoffs, but they are not better then the original bad ass team Road Warriors who won three tag team belts with three different wrestling groups.

Best Road Warrior ripoff?! This is more of a question of which is worse. So Demolition won the titles 3 times?! Big deal! They still sucked, and that was Vince's way of saying since he couldn't get Hawk and Animal at the time, he was going to show his version that they were more superior. Powers of pain became a joke when they came to the WWE. they should have stayed in the NWA, maybe their credibility wouldn't have been scarred.

Powers of Pain ran out of the NWA because they were afraid of doing scaffold matches.

I know, but if they would have never left, they wouldn't have gotten buried they Vince did to them. In the NWA, they were in the midst of a hot feud with the Warriors. They were a top team there. In the WWE, they were just another team. They constantly jobbed to Demolition, and Vince eventually split them up. See, Vince likes to humilate wrestlers from other promotions.

I remember being confused when WWE split them up after a short while.

At the time, I didn't really see a bright future for Warlord or Barbarian as singles wrestler. I know Warlord got a few matches against Hogan, but that's not exactly considered a successful singles run.

I don't know why everyone is nuts over the double turn, it was done horribly. The crowd had no idea what was going on and they still erupted when the Powers of Pain won the match. Then, after Demolition came out and cleared the ring they were silent. There was no other way to do the double turn, it just should have been done at a different time because the Powers were way over, the crowd went nuts everytime one of them tagged in.

Demolition is the better team. They had better matches, more titles, and lasted way longer. As NorCal said, watch the two out of three falls match from Summerslam for proof, and thats on their downfall. Speaking of that, how far did they fall from Wrestlemania VI to VII. They went from winning the tag belts to jobbing in under five minutes, mainly because the WWF wanted to keep the Road Warriors happy, quite the mistake. At least the Powers didn't have such a downfall.

I also heard a rumor that the Powers were split because the WWF was trying to sign the Road Warriors and the Warriors said they would only do it if the Powers split up, because they were afraid non NWA fans would think they were the rip off.

Believe it or not, my best friend who is a huge WWf fan at the time, and didn't really care about the NWA, actually thought The Road Warriors were copycats of the Powers of Pain! See what watching the WWF ONLY will do to you?! LOL

I thought the same thing and I watch NWA wrestling and thought the Powers of Pain were better than the Road Warriors. But the best rip-off of the Road Warriors is Sting and Ultimate Warrior as the facepaint was a total rip from the Road Warriors. I say that while people will say that Demolition is a rip-off, it is a rip-off that became better than the original and is now in a class of its own.

Demolition may have held the WWF belts three times, but the Road Warriors held the belts in every major federation, so I don't know if I would say the rip-off became better than the original. Maybe to casual fans, but not to hard-core wrestling purists.

I say Demolition was better and honestly I really don't view them as LOD ripoffs. Demolition were their own team. Just because they had face paint like LOD, doesn't mean they should be considerd a ripoff. When LOD came to wwe, I think they could've made the feud much better and had a good buildup for a ppv match.

I'm a hardcore fan and think that Demolition was better than the Warriors even if Demolition was in only one federation. LOD were sloppy in the ring and tough to work with and if you look back t there matches, not many are pure classics unless it was with a team with actual wrestling ablity. LOD had great gimmicks and charisma, but wrestling wise, I feel Demolition was better. The powers of pain were so much better than LOD that LOD got the team canned before they came to the WWE as they didn't wan tto beseen as Powers of Pai rip-offs. Demolition is in a class of it own just like LOD.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I disagree with you. LOD were excellent workers. Sloppy in the ring?! I haven't seen much sloppiness. They had many classic matches. The Powers of Pain was better?! Sorry, pal, you are a WWE fan only.

nothing beats the original. the road warriors had a great look and gimmick. granted they werent great workers but they drew crowds everywhere they went and won everywehere they went. none of the three teams were exactly great workers but demolition would be the best rip off cause they one the belts a few times

I voted for Demolition. Granted, no tag team will EVER accomplish what the Road Warriors did, but as far as ripoff teams go, Demolition was the cream of the crop. As much as it pains me to say it, LOD was a pale shell of a once untouchable tag team. By the time they came to the WWF as the Legion of Doom, Animal and Hawk were well past their primes, it just wasn't the same as watching them when they were the Road Warriors.
