The absolute biggest shame of WCW

Getting Noticed By Management
I remember back in the old days when WCW was slowly dying because of the WWF. But not only thanks to that but to so many shit angles, pay per views and performers. To many wrestling fans WCW litteraly used to shit in their face and bury them for having the hart to still watch their favorite wrestling promotion. So many angles used to come out of the blue and others made absolutely no fucking sense. It's easy to blame Vince Russo but he's not the only booker of a promotion Smarks. But seriously when WCW was on the wrong road they were really on a one-way shitty road.

There are a lot of candidates of the biggest shameless performance of WCW performers and bookers. I have looked and searched carefully to think what was the absolute worst of the worst. And I've come to a conclusion to what the worst angle/creation ever was in WCW. So I ask of you the old school fans do you think that this angle was a big shame? IMO this shit was even worse than the Shockmaster.

The David Arquette as WCW World Heavyweight Champion Angle.

This angle sucked so much it was literaly a slap in the face of the casual WCW fan. Let me tell you how it kind of started. WCW released a flopped movie to promote the already dying promotion a little and afterwards when the bookers ran out of ideas they decided the go with the most stupid decision ever to be made in professional wrestling. They let a bad actor become the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. Not only did this mean that they destroyed every single credibility the belt had but they also promoted this wrestler as well.

This was just like some kind of sick puppy getting bit by a snake. This angle caused so much damage that it was probably unrepairable. Not only did the fans despise this even David Arquette didn't like it. I mean what the hell were these stupid bookers thinking? It's like they took a night out smoked some weed and decided '''Hey since we don't have any ideas lets make some stupid actor from our flopped movie the WCW World Heavyweight Champion'' God this angle sucked :disappointed:

Anyway this is what I think was the absolute worst of this promotion. What do you think of this angle? was it a succes or a piece of shit? Please feel free to discuss.

There were so many brutal moments including the David Arquette one even though I thought that triple cage match was kinda unique. The whole show seemed to be chaotic the last year or so, way too much shit was going on at one time. It seriously seemed like every week people were changing from heel to face, it was almost impossible to keep up on.

One moment that sticks out to me wasnt so much an angle but just a match. I remember at one PPV(cant remember which one) it was supposed to be a triple threat match with Steiner, Goldberg and Nash. Goldberg didnt decide to show up till like 10 minutes or so into the match then he walks out instead of taking a powerbomb from Nash like he was supposed to. Russo comes running down the ramp telling him to get the fuck back in the ring and he just ignored him and left. The announcers totally broke the kayfabe wall basically saying Goldberg didnt follow the script. It was one big clusterfuck just like most of the stuff was for WCW the final year or so.

The absolute biggest shame of WCW was Turner merging with AOL/Time Warner. That was what lead to the downfall of WCW. Not the David Arquette thing. What that did was get WCW alot of press. Whether it be good or bad, at least it got people talking.

But from a wrestling standpoint. It would have to be them not pushing new talent. The only two people that come to mind are Goldberg and Booker T. These two were instances of what WCW should have been doing in the first place. That being, listening to the fans. They spent too much time with the old guys. Sure the old guys can handle the belt just fine, but there comes a time when it needs to get passed on so the new guys can take over. Which is what WCW did not do.

The biggest shame on WCW was all of the talent that they had and either let go or didn't use. The following people wrestled for WCW at one time or another.

Undertaker
Austin
HHH
AJ Styles
Chris Benoit
Eddie Guerrero
Chris Jericho
Rey Mysterio (before his knees were shot. For those of you that hate Rey and haven't see his old stuff, stop what you're doing and go watch some of it. Mind blowing)
Mick Foley
Edge

All 10 of those guys have been world champions. Out of them all, one of them, Benoit, got a one day title reign before leaving which was to do nothing more than appease him in an attempt to keep him around. WHile not all of them would have been what you would consider world title material for all of their career, the talent was there. While WWE brought a lot of it out, those guys were wasted by WCW. Many were said to be unmarketable, which has been proven false. That roster was most of the Attitude Era. Had they been given a chance, who knows what could have happened?

I used to love WCW. I didn't get to see my dad often, but when I did, we would watch taped episodes of Nitro and Thunder for hours on end, and always watched the PPVs together. I was young, and ate everything they gave us with a big ol' spoon and loved it all.

Until...

The nWo.

:eek2: I KNOW!

I loved what the WWF was doing with all the stables. DX, The Corporation, The Ministry, The Brood, The Nation Of Domination, D.O.A., The J.O.B. Squad, The Oddities, etc.

All of them. I loved it. I miss it. But, the nWo was just one huge stable, fighting against WCW. And worse, the boss was at the head of it. Vince being a bad guy worked, because he almost always lost in the end. Bischoff always was on top, and it didn't work for me.

Yes, there was Raven's Flock, and I loved them, but they were the redheaded stepchild in WCW. They didn't belong there, because their in-ring styles and attitude just didn't fit. They were a square peg trying to fit in a round hole.
