Hey Yo!

I thought i might try a lil sig making seeing how fun it looks, and i like to create things and challenge my self so hey here i am.

This is the first sig i have ever made, i spent a little time on it, using GIMP which i learnt how to use a little from the tutorial up above which i thank the creator of the tutorial for sorry dont know his name. Now with practice i will become better, but please give me your honest opinion criticism will be appreciated feel free to rep me if you like my work or not.

Anyway here we go, my frist sig is of my fave MMArtist of all time Wanderlei Silva.



Now i used a basic black background as i am not confident enough to experiment with colour as of yet, then i cut out two pictures which i thought were best for this particular sig, cartoonified that, changed the brightness and sharpness of the layers i added, added a golden border and made it a lil fuzzy, i also added standard black text and made it i think size 22 and that's about it tell me what ya think guys if you are kind enough.

Well, it's not bad for a first attempt, but there is a lot to be improved upon.

First, while the images themselves are fine, and the cartoonify effect you did is a nice effect, I think the opacity of the leftmost image could have been lowered in order to blend him in the background a bit more.

Second, I don't really dig the yellow color on the border. I think a brown sampled from Silva or a dark grey would have worked better.

Third, the text. It's hard to see, and it would have been way better if you added a stroke/outline to it.

Try reading my Photoshop tutorials (for style tips) and TPP's GIMP tutorials in order to expand your skill set. Practice makes perfect, and you can never stop learning.
