SVR 2011 bullshittin thread

Mighty NorCal

SHALL WE BEGIN?
This game is japanese as shit. Did you SEE that fucking character selection screen?!?! :lmao:

The fuck is up with there being like, 20 playable characters to start off with? I dont wanna unlock FUCK, I just wanna play.

A lot of the entrances ive seen are severley lacking. I did however MTFO that Cody Rhodes got his Smoke and Mirrors music. Even though he just simply walks to the ring.

Jack Swangle's entrance is ten kinds of epic.

Glad I got the Wal Mart one, unlocked Tribute To The Troops arena, which is some badass shit. The one in the game is way cooler than any actual one they have ever constructed for the event, lulz

Havent dont much with CAW and WWE Universe, but what toying with them I did do (about 10 minutes each) both looked to have a load of promise.

I got the Best Buy version, and got Bret Hart. I also have Fan Axcess, and unlocked everything, including the Tribute to the Troops arena. I like the fighting game character select.

I made my CAW, finished the Jericho Road to WrestleMania, and am now working towards myself and Zack Ryder winning the Unified Tag Team Championships.

So I should definitely get this on Tuesday (or order it at least) when I get paid yes?

I dont have Xbox live, so I couldnt do the fan axxess thingy. Ill have to unlock everything the way they did way back in the early 80s, looking up cheat codes on the internet

I havent got near that amount of shit done, I only played for about 25 minutes.

The Tribute arena is fucking badass isnt it?

I might be able to get this game next week. My mom said it depends on my report card, but I have 3 A's, 4 B's and a C+. I just got an 89 on a test in the C+ class (geometry), and my teachers are basically done with grades for the quarter, so I'm pretty much good to go.

With that said, is this game worth the $60? I havn't heard anything negative throughout the summer, but now people are starting to find the game's few flaws. Are those flaws gonna stick out every time I play or every once in a while?

PS: This is open to anyone, not just NorCal.

I know the feeling, my brother doesn't have Live.

I haven't played in the Tribute to the Troops yet. I should.

Where the fuck were you man, we had the game genie and the little booklet that if you lost it was fucking worthless

I'm digging the game. I made me a crazy little luchador type wrestler and my Create-A-Story mode is off to a good start. I like the WWE Universe mode, I'm trying to move my created guy up trough the ranks. I've fought Vance Archer on Superstars like 4 weeks in a row.

So how does this game compare to the past SvR's? Does it still use that horrible analog grapple system (Circle worked much better) and is the new ladder match any good? I'm curious if I should blow 60 on it

1. Circle grapples suck compared to analog grapples. You can do MUCH, MUCH more out of analog grappling then circle.
2. You aren't blowing 60 on it, you're spending 60 on a good game.
3. Get the Fan Axcess pack if you have your HD gaming console connected to the internet (800 MS points/10 bucks well spent)

Some of my first impressions.

1.) The Character selection screen made me question what the fuck they were trying for. I mean, I liked the original way about things. Let me see a bigger picture of ONE guy. Not 60 mini pics of everyone. It's not Street Fighter, there's more than 12 playable characters.

2.) Does anyone else hate that "B" (xbox 360) is now the fucking pin button? I swear I should've unlocked some imaginary achievement for most pin attempts in a match.. Oh, and needless to say, when I actually wanted to pin them.. yep, grappled the leg.

3.) Have yet to try out Universe mode, CAW/story mode - but from what I've heard, Universe is wack with people jumping you every time you walk to the ring.

4.) I spent a solid hour on giving everyone different colored tights. The Superstar threads are better up-graded this year. You can change more stuff on each Wrestler. Unlike last year, where you could change Morrison's pants - but not his fucking tassles.

5.) Create-A-Finisher FROM THE CORNER = major win to me. I never once gave a shit about CAF from the top rope. I don't do high flying finishers. But Turnbuckle finishers, oh hell yes.

6.) I bought Fan Axxess, but I'm scared shitless to turn on the "unlock everything" switch in fear I'll fuck myself out of several achievements. Yet I can't be bothered (at this time) with doing the endless hours of work to unlock everything the traditional way. Dammit, I just wanna get to story making.

7.) Online Community Creations is already a major fucking win. There is currently a 5* Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy AND A.J. Styles already up. And you can edit them with whatever you dislike. My heart has been won.

8.) Why the fuck do E&C have THOSE alt. attires. Of all the things they could've given them, really, those?

.... More to come as I continue to play.

Yeah, I hate that pin button too. I did that unlock everything switch, as you call it.. and have still been getting trophies, so i'm pretty sure it's safe.

I think Universe mode is good from what im hearing for people on here, ok we get it, you can get jumped on your way to the ring plenty of the time, but i like how it seems that your able build storylines and such, so thats still a win for me.

So is this worth getting Trooper? I'm debating going to get it tomorrow. I haven't had one since I think 09 and I was kind of addicted to it and the new games look pretty good.

But I'm hearing a lot of issues with the game and I'm really just looking for a good Single Player game, the Multiplayer always sucked. You're quick review?

I think the grapple system which i have been told by Stormtrooper and seen in a video is that its got more chain grapples, and as Trooper said in another thread, In SvR 2010, there are weak and strong grapples. 4 weak grapple moves (+1 struggle submission) and 12 strong grapple moves (+3 struggle submissions). This year there are 12 not weak but not strong grapples, and 4 strong grapples. And also certain moves you have a stronger when your opponent gets weaker, plus you can use your finisher whenever you see fit..so at anytime you want.

Well game spot gave the game a 8.1 so I am going to get it when it comes out in England on Friday.

Just a few quick questions

what is the WWE Universe like?

How do you unlock all the charters?

And what is new?

Some more notes.

Create-a-Story: Create-a-Story has a FEW new animations, and it's like they kept all of last year's, yet redid them slightly. For example; the hit and run.. the parking lot is set-up different, so the car (after hitting the Wrestler) actually drives into/through a wall. :lmao: I laughed my ass off the first time I seen it. They also added a Monster Truck, and throwing someone's head through a car window.

The added a coffin segment, and the deal with Taker coming through the ring/randomly showing up after the lights go on and off. They also added being arrested, and a dinner scene where you can either get along - or throw your drink into the other person's face.

I think my favorite new scene that I'm already considering a storyline for.. it's called "Invasion", but basically its one big swerve. Two guys fighting, one more comes down and helps one person. The person being out-numbereds' friends come down (making it 5 in the ring).. suddenly, those two friends turn with the enemies, all at once, and begin a massive beatdown on the poor bastard who thought he was being saved.

Finally, they're doing something new - which I haven't fully been able to get into, because I was just tinkering.. but it's apparently a series of animations all connected. For example, you begin with a base (one guy standing in front of 3 others, seemingly needing to pick one) then it gives you however many options you have. In this case, 3 different outcomes are possible - as you can pick any of the 3 guys.

As well, they have something called "mid-match", with stuff like the screwjob, and Cage/HIAC randomly lowers when both wrestlers get knocked down in the cut-scene. So I'm curious if you can now make it to where you don't have to WIN/LOSE the match, to trigger the scene in these instances.

Create-a-Entrance: It's like they added twice as many intros, but yet all it is are the guys from last year that aren't there anymore; plus what they've always had. Oddly enough, Hurricane (as has been said before) has all of his stuff IN the game and under his 'hurricane' name. Yet Jeff Hardy has been subjected to "Superstar 31".

Brian: Personally, I'm thinking this is one of the better SD/RAW games they've put out in recent memory. They just continue to add to it, and it truly does have a huge roster.

The only thing I have to complain about, which isn't a big deal mind you, is they redid the controls to where it feels like you don't have as many grapples. But the thing is, you do, just not all in the same boring way as year's gone by.

I have yet to try them, but the RTWM storylines/characters to use, seem like they're once again going to be fun. Everyone is in love with Universe mode, but personally I can get the same type of enjoyment out of creating my own storylines, instead of allowing the game to randomize them.

Finally - I used the unlock all thing, and still got a few achievements. My guess is now when I do RTWM, instead of giving me congrats - it'll say "you've already unlocked this item". I can live with that. The Druid arena isn't nearly as exciting as I thought it would be. The constant moaning from them actually annoys me. I am, however, excited to use a Druid. lol I can put him into several Taker storylines.

New controls. You'll learn to love it in a few weeks. I like it because I don't accidentally pin people instead of grappling them.

If by whack you mean awesome, and by jumping you every time you walk to the ring you mean they don't jump you all the time because it never happened to me yet, then I agree.

Pink Druid FTMFW.

couldn't agree more. Pepsi Plunge FTMFW.

Then unlock everything, so you can have Zack Ryder win the Worlds Heavyweight Championship.
8.) Why the fuck do E&C have THOSE alt. attires. Of all the things they could've given them, really, those?
because the Conquistadors were hysterical. That's why. I would have loved an old school E&C attire, but Conquistadors >> all.

He was supposed to be in the game, but he got fired early enough where they removed him as a playable character, yet kept all his stuff. And he had to stay since he's in the Road to WrestleMania. Hardy was never in the game, hence why he isn't named.

I actually was pissed with the story designer. Last year I was able to remove people from the scene (which created some hysterical stuff). This year it seems I can't do it. I tried to have Cena get arrested by nobody (or have 2 people arrest nobody), and it didn't let me leave that character spot vacant.

And Druid arena is the shit. the scary moaning/music stuff was awesome.

So with WWE universe, does it seem fluid and all well connected to you, or does it feel fairly random?

Just trying to figure out if I would rather do that, or just use create a story like last year to do my "GM Mode" type stuff.

Also was a bit miffed that Tribute To Teh Troops wasnt on my event calender after I unlocked the arena. It fuckin should be.

Sweet, I have more money in my account then I originally thought. I'll be picking the game up this weekend.

I'm struggling to decide which of these to buy:

Assassin's Creed - Botherhood
SvR 2011

I'll get one when I get paid and the other at Christmas.

I'm about the same way, SvR 2011 or Fable III...I'm getting SvR now and hopefully the wife will get me Fable III for Christmas.
